Rylee spins around.  Spencer steps away from her.  The fire in her eyes almost frightens her.

“No, no you belong here!” says Rylee.

“With you,” says Spencer.  She walks to the punching bag at the far end of the room.  She pushes it and lets it swing.  “I came back for you.  I didn’t come back for them, for Jo, for Amy, I came back for Rylee Scott.”

Rylee battles internally.  As much as she wants to be in love with Spencer, she remembers all the pain it brought, all the angst.  It brought on her inability to see things too.  Rylee feels the tears threatening.  “Your mom is here, and Amy too, you’ll tell her someday and…”

            “I don’t care.”

            “What?” asks Rylee.

“I remember you!  Do you get that?  I remember you.  That is what brought me back here, your love, your kiss, your smell, your touch is what I came back here for.  Now you won’t talk to me? I don’t care if you fuck every goddamn woman you see, as long as you love me.”

Rylee stumbles back as if she’s been physically slapped.  “I…”

“It doesn’t matter, I can’t go back now.”  Spencer swings hard and strikes the bag.  It explodes, the leather giving way to the force of her anger and power.  “I love you, Lee.  That’s what I came back for.”  She takes the Bonding ring off and throws it at Rylee.  “I don’t need that if you don’t want me.”

Rylee falls to her knees her emotions ripping her wide, her chest heaves and she starts to cry.  The same tears that she shed when Spencer had been dead.  But Spencer isn’t dead, she’s here and she’s pushing her away.  The ring rolls within reach and Rylee sees it in double through the tears.  She scrambles to take it and looks up to Spencer but she’s gone.

Tegan, Abby, Sydney, Jayden and Natalie sit on the ground, and Natalie is explaining how the DarkHeart is part of their DNA make up because their mother’s took it into them.  Sydney’s mother, Shelby, had a natural thread of it because she was a direct descendent of the man who had wielded the spirit.

“So our Spencer doesn’t have that because her DNA is from that other timeline?” asks Tegan.  She needs a diagram she thinks.

“Yes, I think.  I can’t be sure until I’d cast the spell,” says Natalie.

“We cast the spell,” corrects Jayden.

“When did you become my wingman?” asks Natalie.  She shoots Jayden a hot glare, but she softens quickly.

“When you asked me to teach here?  When you asked me to help you train them? When you asked me to…”

“I got it,” cuts in Natalie.

Jayden laughs.  “I can give you lessons on self defense if you want?” her tone is sweet and teasing.  It sends hot shivers up Natalie’s spine.
