It was so unfair and such a difficult thought to process. Your best friend that you've known for over ten years had passed away in a car accident last night.

It was too much to handle and you ended up locking yourself in your bedroom, not even letting Taylor in to grab a fresh change of clothes or take a shower in the bathroom attached to the bedroom.

You woke up to the phone call at only three in the morning and you haven't slept since. Sleep was the least of your worries though.

You couldn't help but cry. It was the worst pain you've ever felt in your life and you didn't know how to cope with it.

You heard a gentle knock on the door, the one that's been occurring every hour or so. It was Taylor, of course. She was extremely worried about you. She was more than happy to give your space and room to grieve but she didn't think you'd push her away.

You were sitting on the bedroom floor with your knees to your chest as you continued to sob like you have been doing on and off for the past several hours.

"Y/n? Can you please let me in?"

She waited a few seconds, hoping that you'd unlock the door but still, nothing.

"Darling. I know you're hurting. Please let me in, let me be here for you. Please y/n. Please don't push me away."

It was another minute or so before she heard the lock click and she gave you a few seconds before she opened the door. She saw you sitting on the floor with your legs to your chest and tears streaming down your face.

"Oh, y/n."

She cooed before walking over to you, sitting behind you and putting one hand on your back. She waited a few seconds to see if you'd push her away and when you didn't she pulled you on her lap and wrapped her arms around your stomach.

"It's okay, darling. I've got you. Let it out baby." You sobbed and moved your hands to grip hers, needing the physical contact as the worst of the pain hit you.

You felt like an awful dream that you couldn't wake up from. You just talked to her around nine last night, the both of you making plans to hang out tomorrow.

The last words you told her were that you loved her and you couldn't wait to see her. Now you weren't gonna see her and the thought of that totally broke you. You felt Taylor press her lips to the back of your neck as she whispered in your ear.

"I know you're hurting but I'm right here with you. I'll always be right here."

You continued to cry until you fell asleep. Taylor gently picked you up and laid you down on the bed, holding your hand as she let out a few tears of her own.

It was so hard to see you hurting.

She only hoped that time would help heal this for you.
