Chapter 345 - "Wriggler..."

Clara's PoV

'Now here's the deal' I smirked as I got my laptop out and placed some paper work around me.

I had some essays due before Christmas, and although it is only nearing the end of October - I want to get ahead and at the very least start them.

'I'm going to write my essay, and your going to wriggle around happily for a few hours. Okay?' I asked her, making a bargain with a 2 month old baby who just looked up at me with her beady brown eyes.

I leant over her tiny frame for a moment and tickled her little chin to get her wriggling when she grabbed my glasses from my face.

It was completely unexpected as she did it, but had quite a grip on them, pulling them straight off.

Apparently babies start to try and grab around this phase. We've already had her pull practically half of John's fluffy hair off his head, but I didn't expect her to snap them up.

'Come on toad. Give Mummy her glasses back' I smirked, tickling her tummy, as I tried to get her to release her grasp but she was holding on pretty tight.

'What on earths going on in here?' John said. I probably wouldn't have known it was him unless I recognised the voice, everything is so blurry, but he walked in and locked the door, pushing the holy across.

'She's stolen my glasses' I chuckled, trying once again to release her grip, when suddenly she flexed her hand. 'God. Now I know to keep my glasses from you' I chuckled, as John tickled her tummy and sat on the floor by the end of the bed.

'Why did you lock the door?'

'Because Richard just went out - but I didn't want to risk being caught when o did this' he laughed, leaning up and kissing me again.

'God it feels so good to do that again - but I can't help but feel like a criminal. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I did this whole sneaking around thing with Richard and I don't want to do it again with you' I scoffed.

'I just don't see the point in ending it' he shrugged.

'Why would you want that? What if I decided to have sex with Richard tonight?' I asked wrapping my arms around his neck and perching back in his lap where I haven't been for so long.

'Your not going to are you?' He mumbled.

'No. But I can't keep him at arms length forever' I pointed out.

'I'll get back to you on that' he agreed. 'Want me to watch her?'

'Nah. She's okay' I said sitting down now at my desk after unlocking the door and tapping away some nonsense at my computer, I didn't want anyone to suspect anything.

'So what you up too?' He asked, showing her the fabric book that she could grab hold of for as long as she likes because it wouldn't break.

'Writing an essay on child development and the psychology of a child in the first few months of life - and how this will help in education in later life' I said, staring at Autumn. 'I have an advantage in some ways - I'm witnessing the first few months of life everyday - to be honest I might actually do it for my dissertation'

'Wow. Sounds... Not very fun' he said, turning to lean on the bed and pulled his laptop up.

'What's yours about?'

'The physics of the solar system and reasons why Pluto is no longer a planet'

'It was too small. Simple as' I said.

'Yes... But it's slightly more complicated than that'

'No. Your making it more complicated than that. It's really not' I chuckled, as he picked up his phone and went to answer the buzzer for the flat.

'How do I write 5000 words of you have only given me a sentence?' He laughed as he left.

When he came back in the room, he had Lola on his tail, and I noted that she had died the bottom of her hair pink.

He so needed to get rid of her. He really needs to get out while he can, and while he has the chance.

'What do you think baby?' Lola asked him.

'I think it's pink'

'Well duh. But how does it look'

'Just fine silly. I can't work out what was wrong with your hair colour before - but if you like it then feel free' he said, holding a stuffed zebra above Autumns head.

'She's quite the wriggler... Do you not think?' Lola asked. 'Could be a sign of ADHD. Wriggly babies so young could have development problems because their so active' she said with her psychology brain.

Just because she's doing a child psychology degree - I do not need her opinion on her development.

I tutted, and scoffed at her. 'She's 8 weeks old. I highly doubt that's on her mind. She's in a wriggling and grabbing phase' I said and laughed uncontrollably as she grabbed a clump of Lola's pink hair and she squealed.

'What the hell' Lola complained.

'I warned you' I laughed, trying to contain it.

'Are we going or not John?' She scoffed at him blaming him clearly for my being here. Of course it is my room - she doesn't have to be here.

'Yeah. Okay. See you later Clara' he pouted, leaving the room and I heard the front door close.

'There's nothing wrong with you. Your just having a wriggle' I said, looking at her dimply baby smile.

'Who the Fuck does she think she is? I mean seriously?' I snapped, walking up and down the room in a pace as Lilly waited for me to join her in in her essay writing. 'Just because she's got a Fucking child psychology degree... Does not mean that she gets to judge the development of my baby. Only I can do that'

'I'm sensing some jealousy here' Lilly scoffed, rolling her eyes, not even looking up from her phone.

'It's not jealously, I just don't like her. She's just died her hair pink for gods sake. That is not what attracts John' I muttered, folding my arms standing in front of Lilly's face. 'Your not listening' I groaned, snatching the phone from her hand, and throwing it on the bed.

'I am listening Clara but this is not the first time you've complained about Lola is it? And what does it matter? If he's declared love for you again and is breaking up with her any day now... What difference does it make?'

'What am I supposed to do? Just ignore that she's stupid?'

'Yes'

'But--'

'Can I have my phone back please, I'm trying to book something' she scoffed, as I looked at the phone screen.

'What's this for?' I asked collapsing next to her suddenly and scrolled down the screen.

'Well it was supposed to be a present but you've ruined it now. Not that it matters, you'll have to find a babysitter, but it's 3 nights away by the beach. It's not far, and you don't have lectures so we can go' she smiled.

'When?'

'November 22nd - 25th. It'll be fun'

'This place looks amazing' I said, browsing the hotel and all that it has to offer.

'Well it is a birthday present, but yes, I think so too. Just a few of us. I've booked for 6 of us but we'll see who comes and whose still together in a couple weeks time shall we' she's laughed.
