Natsuo Todoroki x Reader: Distracting

Sorry for not updating in a while, I was stuck thinking about which characters to write for before someone suggested doing a oneshot for Natsuo! He's a manga only character so light spoilers ahead. Enjoy!

Everything was different now that you were in high school. Getting into a great college was your top priority now because your parents had pushed you to think that way. But you knew they were right. You quirk wasn't especially strong and you didn't want to be a hero, so you focused on academics.

You didn't have many friends because they were a distraction. Being in the top of your class took every ounce of your energy after all. You had already started studying for entrance exams, it was never too late to start.

You were focused and nothing could change that. No. You wouldn't allow anything to change that.

"Everyone settle down! I have some news for you all today." Your tired teacher, Mr. Horikoshi announced before homeroom started for the day. He sighed once everyone had stopped talking before he continued. "We're getting a new student. A transfer from another school, he's a top student."

"Yay! It's a boy!" Someone shouted, making the other students giggle. You furrowed your eyebrows and could feel your competitive spirit start to rise. A top student? Was he better than you?

"Quiet down, we don't want to scare him off." Your teacher said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'll go get him. He's just standing in the hallway I guess."

Mr. Horikoshi opened the door, stuck his head out, and gestured for the boy to come in. A tall white-haired boy walked in, a lively smile adorning his face. "D-Damn, is he an athlete?" A girl next to you asked under her breath.

"He's so cute." Another said and you fiddled with the pen in your hand. Sure he was nice to look at, but you didn't want to think about him that way. It was too distracting.

He straightened his back, making his broad shoulders seem even more prominent, before bowing his head down to you all. "Hello everyone! My name is Natsuo Todoroki, nice to meet you all."

"Hi, Todoroki!" Everyone, including you, answered back.

"We have one seat in the back, take your seat and get a notebook out. We're taking a lot of notes today."

"Yessir!" He replied before hurrying to his seat.

"Oh and one more thing, y/n will show you around the school during the lunch break. Raise your hand y/n." Your teacher said and you timidly raised your hand in the air. Natsuo looked at you, his icy eyes staring straight through you like he was taking you apart piece by piece.

"Thanks, y/n. I look forward to it." He said with a wide grin and you nodded to him politely.

He seemed nice enough and it's not like he worried you or anything. You were sure that you could defend your title of top student from anyone.

The rest of the class went by, as usual, then it was time for English, then Ancient History, and finally it was lunch. You had barely got your lunch box out before you heard a cheery voice call out to you. "Y/n! I'm ready for my tour!" Todoroki shouted loudly from the back of the class. You jumped in your seat and turned to look at him, his bright smile nearly blinding you with pure radiance.

What the hell? Is his quirk brightness or something?

You and Todoroki left the classroom together and you tried not to listen to your peer's hushed whispers.

"Y/n is so lucky to be alone with him but she's so frigid..."

"I know right. Yeah, she'll definitely scare him away."
