Denki Kaminari x Reader: Ocean Times

Kaminari is a cutie and a complete dork so I felt like I should write about him >.> This is going to have female pronouns unlike my other oneshots so bear with me. Kirishima and Sero are here as well. Enjoy!

The wind nipped at your cheeks and bare legs as you walked hurriedly toward the beach. It was a little colder than what you had anticipated for, but it wasn't terrible. You had packed a small bag full of essential items for a day at the beach.

This was the first day in your entire school year that you had nothing to do. The only plan for today was to completely lose yourself in relaxation and peace.

At least that's what you thought after you set up your umbrella and blanket on the sand. You took off your shorts and a loose t-shirt, which left you in just your simple black one-piece swimsuit. It seemed like you were the only one there and you believed it was your lucky day. Just when you were getting comfortable, resting on your back with your sunglasses on your face, you heard loud laughter.

"Huh?" you groggily asked yourself as you removed your sunglasses and sat up.  

You caught a glimpse of a yellow-haired boy splashing playfully near the rocks by the shore. He was accompanied by a spiky red-haired boy who was standing with his hands on his hips thigh deep in the water, and a black haired boy with strange arms who was splashing around in the water too.

They were all very loud and you pouted as you lay back down on your blanket.  

So much for my relaxing day at the beach, you thought to yourself as you fished your phone and earbuds out of your bag and scrolled through your music playlist.

Maybe if you could drown out their laughter with music you still might be able to sleep. 

"Hey, Kirishima why don't you go talk to her? Maybe she could hang out with us!" you heard the black haired boy say loudly.

"Nah, I don't know Sero...would that be manly or not?" the red-haired boy Kirishima asked tentatively.

"Of course it's manly...manly enough!" the other boy Sero replied.

Who even are these guys?! you thought as you stopped scrolling through your phone. 

"I'll talk to her then if you don't wanna Kirishima!" the yellow-haired boy said as he started walking toward you. In just his swim trunks.

You sat up quickly trying not to blush at the shirtless boy walking toward you. He was smiling goofily and his yellow hair was damp and shiny.

"Hi...my friends wanted me to say hi...I'm Denki Kaminari by the way!" he said still beaming at you. "Whatcha' listening to?" he asked.

You decided that he was harmless and you started to relax. "I'm y/n l/n nice to meet you," you said "but if you don't mind I'm going to go back to lying down," you said dodging his question. "This is my first free day in a long time sooo..."

"Oh really! Do you go to an elite school or something?" he asked you as he plopped down in the sand near your blanket.

Hmmm, I guess he didn't take the hint.

"Well it's not really elite...my school focuses mostly on academics so there's a lot of work involved," you said aloofly. Now that Kaminari was closer to you, you realized that you had seen him somewhere. Did you see him somewhere around the city? 

"Wait a minute!! You're the electric guy from the U.A. Sports Festival! And you're asking me if I go to an elite school? U.A. is the best of the best Kaminari!" you exclaimed finally realizing where you had seen him from. You remembered that he made it pretty far in the festival too, which had impressed you.

"Haha yeah, it's pretty cool being a U.A. student. After the festival...we all kind of got famous I guess," he said rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

You sensed that he was proud of being a U.A. student but that he tried too hard when he talked to people.

"Well I think it must be amazing to be a U.A. student!" you stated loudly so his friends, who were eavesdropping stealthily on you two, could hear you. "To be accepted into a school like that...you must be really talented."

Kaminari looked away from you as he gulped and blushed deeply.

"T-thanks that means a lot y/n." he finally said as he met your eyes. You stared back at him and got lost in his eyes. They were a mesmerizing dark yellow that almost matched his hair. You weren't aware that you were staring before Kaminari broke the silence by snapping his fingers near your face.

"AH! Sorry, sorry your eyes are just really cool Kaminari," you said awkwardly as you started to stand up.

"Oh are you leaving already?" he asked you as you stood up and stretched. 

"No I'm just going in the water now, and I think your friends are waiting for you anyway," you explained as you gestured towards his eavesdropping buddies who were still by the rocks staring at you two. 

"Do you want to join me?" you asked with newfound confidence.

"U-uh of course!" Kaminari said a bit taken aback by your bluntness.

He shot up quickly, brushing sand off of his slim body. You took his hand in yours and led him to the water. He grinned and followed you, his yellow eyes shining brighter than the sun.

This free day is off to a great start so far!
