Thirteen x Reader: Watchful

Space hero Thirteen was requested ^_^ They're so cute and I'm a huge space nerd, but they're quirk is definitely super strong. Cute and deadly lol. For this oneshot the reader will be quirkless and a civilian. Enjoy!

After the villain attack at USJ, you were keeping a watchful eye on your partner at the hospital. If anything else were to happen to them you weren't sure if you could stand it. Thirteen was usually so careful, but that was because they were usually on rescue missions and not on complicated battles with villains.

But the doctors assured you that Thirteen would be just fine, only a slightly sore back on rainy days would be a side effects of what the villain warp gate did. Nevertheless, you were determined to be with Thirteen until they could be released from the hospital.

You knew it was wishful thinking, but you felt like if you were with Thirteen you could protect them somehow. Even though you were untrained and quirkless, you still had to try and do something right?

Today you had gotten your hands on some more of the hospital jell-o that Thirteen loved, and you hurriedly walked back to the room you two were staying at. You were also keeping an eye on Eraserhead, but he was in much worse shape than Thirteen so he wasn't even aware that you were there most of the time.

Opening the door you walked into the room, the corners of your lips curling into a smile when your eyes fell on Thirteen's form on the hospital bed. The huge white eyes on their space suit were smaller than usual, showing just how tired they were. "Hey babe, I got the goods." you whispered.

"Oh wow! My favorite. I think the nurses are trying to hide this stuff from me now. I'm eating too much of it!" Thirteen said, they're voice sounding more chipper than it had been yesterday. Slowly but surely they were recovering.

"You deserve it. I mean after what happened...I don't know."

"What?" Thirteen asked you. You chuckled, a light airy sound, and turned your face away.

"I've just been thinking...about what could have happened at USJ and it makes me so scared...there's no certainty about anything."

Thirteen shook their head slightly and breathed out a tired sigh. "There never has been with this kind of work. I'm sorry...you don't deserve to be put through this kind of stress. Worrying about me must be hard on you." Your hand immediately clutched theirs, and you gave them a small smile.

"Well, I am certain about one thing Thirteen."

"Oh yeah? What's that?"

"That I absolutely love you. And I want to be with you for the rest of my life! W-We've talked about this before but it's always been put on the back-burner and I'm done doing that. Do you want to marry me Thirteen?" you asked, knowing full well how important the words you just uttered were. It was almost like the weight of them settled in the air of the hospital room as you and Thirteen sat in silence for a few seconds.

"Of course y/n." Thirteen said breathily, their covered hand tightening around your own. You blushed despite being used to the small contact. You were sure that if you tried to speak now you would be a stuttering mess. "I love you so much. We're going to have the best wedding ever!"  

"Hell yeah we are!"

Dozens of pro heroes showed up for the wedding along with Thirteen's family and yours which was both great and exhausting. All Might even showed up, which of course attracted the media. 

So afterwards, you and Thirteen quickly broke away from the crowds and went to get ice cream. Thirteen immediately put on the iconic space mask and sighed contentedly. It was a cute habit.

"This will be our first marriage ice cream y/n! Are you ready?" Thirteen asked, and you smiled as you eyed the delicious looking ice cream on the wafer cone.

"Of course I'm ready babe. But you might want to take the mask off."

"Whoops!" Thirteen exclaimed as they smashed the beautiful ice cream right into their mask. You suppressed a laugh and went to get another ice cream cone. You were ready for a lifetime with Thirteen, so it might as well be fun!
