The morning of the third task, Charlotte Lupin was sitting in the Hufflepuff common room.

"If I don't make it out alive, will you promise to pursue a job in quidditch? Or at least think about it, I mean, with your skill you could get onto a real team!" Cedric said excitedly.

"You will make it out alive, dummy." Lottie laughed, "but maybe, we'll see."

"You better," he said, poking her in the sides.

"Do you have a plan for the third task?" She asked him.

"Er, I've practised spells of course, but I reckon I'll just have to wing it when I'm in there." He shrugged.

"Ced! You don't have a plan?"

"I'm just kidding," he laughed, shaking his head at her fear, "of course I have a plan."

"Good," Charlotte let out a sigh of relief, "don't do that!"

"Sorry!" He laughed, "anyway, how's you and Potter?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lottie asked, tapping her fingers on the side of the sofa nervously.

"Well, you like him, so how's that going?"

"Who says I like him?" She asked, her cheeks burning red as she bit her tongue.

"It's obvious," Cedric said, "can I make my if-I-die-wish that you'll ask Harry out if I die?"

"Nope."

"What! You can't just say no to a dying man!"

"I can," Lottie smirked, "I don't like Harry like that."

"You're lying," Cedric snorted, "ah, young love, how sweet!"

"Cedric!" She flicked him on the forehead, "speaking of young love, how're things with Cho?"

"Changing the subject are we, Lupin?" Cedric said, "but Cho and I are amazing, actually!"

"Good," Lottie grinned, "now go get some breakfast, Diggory, and get ready for the task you're going to win!"

"Will do, I'll see you after the task?"

"With the tri wizard cup in your hand," Lottie confirmed, standing up form the sofa and exiting the common room so she could go and find her friends.

When she entered the great hall, she quickly sat with Theo, Alex and Kaycie, who were all discussing the next task.

"I can't believe it's the end of the tournament!" Kaycie sighed, tearing a piece of croissant apart.

"Neither can I," Lottie sighed, "it'll be strange not having the extra company around."

"It will," Alex nodded, "it'll probably be nicer, we won't have to see Kaycie!"

"Oi!" She nudged him in the ribs. "Rude, my presence is the best kind!"

"Gotta say I agree with Kaycie on this one - Christmas better come quickly so you can be back here." Lottie sighed.

"I'm sure the time will fly by," Kaycie said, "besides, we still have the summer."

"I hate the summer," Theo groaned.

"Why?"

"Dad makes me clean all of his boats, he makes me go fishing too. Do you know how boring fishing is? It's torture!"

"Aw, poor little rich boy," Lottie laughed.

"My summer is always fun," Alex shrugs, "we have a swimming pool in our garden!"

"Another rich boy," Kaycie rolled her eyes, turning to Lottie, "will you come to the orphanage?"

Charlotte bit her lip, she hadnt mentioned her run in with Finley to Kaycie yet.

"Dunno..."

"Oh," Kaycie frowned.

"We can still do a day out or something," Theo said, taking the attention off of Lottie. "You guys could show us muggle London! Or we could go to a beach!"

"Mr I hate boats wants to go to a beach?" Kaycie raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, yes he does."

"I like beaches," Alex added, growing excited, "we should definitely go to one!"

"We can arrange it," Lottie said, smiling at his enthusiasm.

"Yay!"

She glanced around the hall, her eyes landing on Harry Potter, who was eating his breakfast as he talked to Ron, his hair less tame then usual.

"Look, she's staring at Potter again!" Theo announced.

"I'm telling you, she never stops!" Cried Kaycie.

"Did you see her in potions yesterday? Couldn't keep her eyes off of him!" Alex exclaimed.

"She can hear you," Charlotte said, turning back to them and glaring. "I'm not always watching him."

"Yes you are," they all replied.

"You like him!" Alex said in a sing song voice.

"Don't,"

"Do,"

"Don't,"

"Do,"

"Don-" Theo shoved the rest of her croissant in her mouth.

"We're not dumb, silly. Now shush!" He commanded, laughing at her shocked expression.

A few hours later, the four friends followed the rest of the Hogwarts students across the grounds to the location of the third task. They walked onto the Quidditch field, which was now completely unrecognizable. A twenty-foot-high hedge ran all the way around the edge of it. There was a gap right in front of them: the entrance to the vast maze. The passage beyond it looked dark and creepy.

"Bloody hell, look at that maze!" Kaycie gasped.

"And all those little shop things, what are they?" Asked Alex, pointing to where about 30 stands were waiting for customers.

"My dads got one of those," Theo gritted his teeth, "the prize is a fucking boat."

"I'm going to buy you a boat for your birthday, sounds like you love them!" Kaycie said cheerfully.

"Don't you dare."

"Harry! I'm telling you, mate, Krums a natural at things like this, he'll win!" The familiar voice of Ron Weasley was saying.

"Ced will win," Lottie said, turning to face Ron, "trust me."

"You don't understand, Charlotte." Ron sighed, "Krum! He's like...he's like a bird in the wind!"

"Ron's in love with Krum, we've just learnt to accept it," Lucas told her.

"Well Ron, Krum doesn't look half bad, I agree with you there!" Kaycie said, patting his shoulder.

"I'm not in love! He's just...he's Viktor Krum!"

"Really?" Kaycie gasped sarcastically, "Lottie, I thought it was Vector Rum!"

Charlotte rolled her eyes, laughing as they all made their way towards the stands.

"Hey Charlie," Harry said as they found seats, the band playing their music exceptionally loud.

"Hey Harold," she smiled, sitting next to him. "Excited?"

"For the waiting? Not at all, but I'm looking forwards to seeing dads stands, I helped him plan it last night, it seems quite interesting!"

"We'll have to take a look at it," she said, "James said he wanted to do something, what did he chose in the end?"

"Well were stuck between water guns and a pie face thingy - I'm sure he'll explain it later, you'll probably like it."

"Sounds good to me!"

Five minutes later, the stands had begun to fill; the air was full of excited voices and the rumbling of feet as the hundreds of students filed into their seats. The sky was a deep, clear blue now, and the first stars were starting to appear.

"Welcome!" Ludo Bagmans voice roared across the stands, "to the third and final task of the Tri Wizard Tournament!"

Cheers rung around area.

"I now present to you, Fleur Delacour, of Beauxbatons!"

Fleur came out dressed in her usual light blue clothes, Madame Maxine at her side and they both smiled as they made their way towards Bagman.

"And Viktor Krum, of Durmstrang!"

Viktor made his way over, his face expressionless, however, his fans were all screaming.

Ron was one of them.

"And last but not least, Cedric Diggory, of Hogwarts!"

The cheers for Cedric seemed to be the loudest, everyone was screaming his name and wishes of good luck as he strolled over to Bagman, his father at his side with a bright smile. Lottie cheered loudly, hoping he'd do well. He deserved to win.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! So...on my whistle, Cedric!" said Bagman. "Three - two - one -"

He gave a short blast on his whistle, and Cedric hurried forward into the maze.

Charlotte watched as the each champion ran into the maze, and then slumped back into her seat.

"Bored already?" Asked Harry.

"Yes!"

"So am I," Alex added, "there's nothing to do!"

"Actually we cou-"

"I'd like to give out a short notice!" Bagman announced, "just outside the quidditch pitch, a team of wonderful people have put together some food stools, shops, games, if you feel like visiting these, I say do!"

Charlotte and her friends shared a look, silently agreeing to go down and get a look. Quite a few people decided to leave, heading down and chatting to their friends.

"What do you want to do first?" Asked Harry as they stepped towards the stools. Fairy lights and lanterns had been spread all around, and each stand was brightly lit and decorated beautifully.

"I say we get dinner!" Ron suggested.

"I second that!"

"Me too!"

"We could go to that hotdog place?" Suggested Theo, pointing towards a wizard dressed in navy blue who was selling hotdogs.

"Hotdogs it is,"

"Here, I'll go get them," Alex said.

"I'll help," Harry said, darting after him.

"But we haven't given them any money," Hermione frowned.

"Free food," Ron winked.

The pair returned quickly, and they handed out the warm hotdogs.

"Dads got his thing set up over there," Harry pointed in the right direction. "We could go over there?"

"Eh, I want to get Theo's dads boat!" Kaycie giggled.

"Kaycie, I swear to Merlin, stop!"

They all laughed as they headed towards James and Sirius.

They had a pin the tail on the hippogriff set up.

"Hello kids! Anyone up for a round of pin the tail on the hippogriff? If you get it right, you get to throw a pie in mine or Sirius' face, if you don't, we get to throw one at you!" James announced.

"Really, pin the tail on the hippogriff?"

"Yes, Ron." James nodded, "who's going first?"

"I will!" Volunteered Alex.

Lottie stood from Harry's side, watching as James blind folded Alex and gave him the tail.

He stuck it on the face.

"Did I get it?"

"Well...it was on the hippogriff alright..."

He took of the blindfold, but the second he had done it, he had been pie faced, and whipped cream had smudged all over his face.

"A warning would have been nice!" He cried.

"Sorry!" James laughed. "Who's next?"

"I'll have a go," Kaycie offered, "although, if you splatter my face and ruin my eyeliner, I may scream."

"Brilliant!"

She was blindfolded, and managed to get the tail in the correct face.

"Oh no," Sirius' eyes widened, "my hair...please don't get me!"

"Sirius! You said they wouldn't win!"

"Well I didn't think they would!"

"Go on Kaycie!" Charlotte and Harry cheered as she took one of the paper plates of whipped cream, getting it right on Sirius' face.

"Damn it."

They all laughed, although they separated, and soon enough, it was just Harry and Lottie, and they were standing were Dorcas had set up face paints.

"Hey Harry, Charlotte!"

"Hi Dorcas," Harry smiled warmly, "been busy?"

"Very," her hands were covered in paint, "want a face paint?"

"Why not," he shrugged, turning to Charlotte, "want one?"

"Sure bu-"

"Brilliant, two face paints please, on me."

"You don't ha-"

"Shush."

"Cool, what do you want yours to be?"

"Surprise me,"

Ten minutes later, both Charlotte and Harry had painted faces.

His was a lion, hers had a few stars on her cheek.

"Think I should step up with the band and roar?" Harry laughed.

"Oh most definitely," Lottie giggled, "embrace your inner  lion!"

The two laughed, and Harry took her hand, dragging her to all different games like a basketball game, a catch the rubber duck for a prize, and a magical creatures pen, where Hagrid had a few small animals that you could pet.

A few hours later, Cedric Diggory returned to the quidditch pitch. He had won the cup.

The crowd had gone wild, all cheering loudly for Cedric whilst his father embraced him in a tight hug.

"Congratulations Mr Diggory!" Cried Bagman.

"My son! My son has won!" Amos was cheering.

Lottie smiled, her face still littered with the star paintings.

"Told you he'd win, I told you all the way back at the first task." She nudged Harry playfully.

"Fine, you were right," he rolled his eyes.

"Here's to a good year," Theo said with a grin, handing around paper cups filled with lemonade. "And to mine and Lottie's amazing prediction of Diggory winning!"

They all laughed, drinking their lemonade as they watched the students of Hogwarts celebrate over Cedrics win.
