33. Coming On Hard

Start from the beginning

Tristan turned and put the glass of water onto the table as he stared down Vienna making her swallow hard. He started to slowly walk towards her "Woah Vienna. That's quite an accusation there. I didn't trick you. You knew on the top floor, the boys rule and I didn't force you to come. So... take that back."

Vienna was suddenly reminding herself of what Viggo had told her yesterday. She stated shakily " You tricked me."

Tristan frowned "Vienna. Sit down. I just want to talk to you. There is no need to be afraid of me. I just want to see if you can have a proper conversation with me again. I don't like it when you try to avoid me. In fact it really bothers me. You are willing to talk to other boys so easily but not with me. I saw you this morning in the library. You were sitting with some boys. You were studying but you were close to them. It does bother me that you give your time to other boys and not to me. I was jealous. That's right. Very jealous." He then put his hands on either side of her on the door making vienna lose her breath.

Vienna took a deep breath and averted gaze "Tristan... Please.... Don't..."

Tristan frowned "Don't what? You cant even form a sentence today. You were fine yesterday at the auditions but not today. What has changed today? Tell the truth Vienna. Is it Viggo who has turned you against me. Help me understand ... Why should you be happy to talk to other boys but not me even for five seconds. I blame your brother, Viggo. Yesterday, I know he told your father about us going to the prom. I am sure he has tried to deter you from coming close to me. Deny it if its not true."

Vienna closed her eyes shut. What was she to say. It was true. She wasn't capable of lying. She remained silent. She opened her eyes "Please, let me leave."

Tristan narrowed his eyes "So I am right. Your brother is working hard at it to ruin our relationship" He then took a step away from her and walked to the table "But I need to know much more. Vienna come sit. We need to talk. I am not letting you leave this room."

Vienna didn't move from her spot. She wished she was stronger. Her legs felt like jelly. Tristan was really intimidating.

But part of Vienna felt for him. Tristan just wanted to talk and part of her agreed with Tristan. It was unfair that Viggo and her had talked about him behind his back and had judged him. She needed to give him a chance. He just wanted to talk. She told herself. Nothing more... So she slowly walked to the table and sat down.

Tristan smiled "Good girl. Now. Question one... Are you scared of me?"

Vienna gasped. She didn't expect that at all. She looked away and didn't reply.

Tristan sighed "I take that as a yes." He then pushed one of the glasses of water in front of her and asked "Why are you now shaking? Come on Vienna. You have left me with no other choice acting like I am a stranger. Calm down. Drink some water. I will let you go in five minutes."

Vienna nodded and drank from the glass avoiding his eyes.

Tristan waited for her to take a few sips of water and then spoke " Question 2... Why did you have no problem with being in the same room as Edward Blake all alone early morning doing your science project but right now you act like I am the last person you want to see in the whole world? Am I right to assume that the answer to question two lies in question one?"

Vienna covered her face in her hands trying hard to compose herself. His eyes were really intimidating her. He looked quite intense. He had become worse as time had gone on.

Tristan sighed "I take that as a yes." He then spoke "Question 3... what do I need to do to prove to you that i would never hurt you? What do I need to do so you believe me when I say the thought of you getting hurt makes me feel sick? What do I need to do to make you realise, I am madly in love with you and would kill anyone who would hurt you? Just tell me and I will do it. I don't want you to be scared of me Vienna. Come on. I will give you space but you must give me a chance. I want you to treat me at least like you treat others. You are not that much shy with me. You are scared of me. But I don't understand why? What have I done to scare you?"
