"Fumiko get up you have a visitor."
Sayuri's crystal blue eyes slowly opened to see a woman standing on the other of the bars. Her rose colored lips folded into a smile, and she slowly sat up against the wall.
"I didn't expect you to visit me so soon."
The woman's face remained firm, she stared at her old friend blankly before sitting down on a brown chair. She lifted up her hand and smiled at the officers kindly "Care to leave us alone for a bit?"
The officers shrugged "Even though you are the one who brought her in, until her trial we can't let you spend more than 5 minutes alone with her."
"That's fine, 5 minutes should be more than enough."
The officers nodded, and quickly made their way down the hall closing the door behind them.
"I guess in the end you were the only one who didn't stray from the path Issho-Sensei had set for you." Sayuri spoke softly.
Erica didn't speak for a moment, her mind seemed to have been stuck in a deep thought as she stared at her for a bit.
"Yeah, you're right..."
The raven haired woman's lips curled oddly before she let out an odd laugh almost like a witch. "What a fool you are though. You haven't changed a bit since 15 years ago."
Erica's eyebrows slanted a bit from her rude comment "What is that supposed to mean..."
Sayuri's expression still remained snake-like, she gave her a small grin before lifting up her hands to reveal cuffs "Not sure perhaps I'd be willing to talk more if these things weren't tearing at my wrist."
"Shut up, even I know that something like that wouldn't bother you. Not to mention you know I can't let you roam free." Sayuri then sighed "It was worth a shot."
"Why did you decide to come here anyways? To gain closure? Attempt to face your past?"
"I'm not sure, I thought that by speaking with you maybe I would have found an answer to that. But now I feel more lost than I have before." Erica muttered.
"Is it because of the boy?" Sayuri questioned.
Erica seemed a bit surprised by the woman's comment but before she could even respond Sayuri quickly spoke. "I never realized that she had a second child."
"Seeing the way how he spoke to me and my daughter reminded me of her."
Erica remained silent and looked down at her feet.
"I'm surprised he even wants to become a hero after everything that happened."
After saying that Sayuri noticed the awkward frown on Erica's face and her eyes widened "He doesn't know does he?"
A light giggle escaped from her mouth before transforming into an intrigued laugh "My isn't this an interesting situation...it's only a matter of time until..."
"Shut up"
Erica stood up and kicked her chair back "You don't understand anything!"
Sayuri kept her grin and spoke slowly, she stood up and got close to the bars "I know that if he found out the truth he'd hate you more than anyone. Besides you shouldn't use that kid to atone for your past mistakes."
"Erica your time is up"
The hero turned to see the officers walking into the room with stoic expressions.
"Oh that's a shame...it seems like our meeting has been cut short."
Erica glared at Sayuri harshly before turning back and walking down the hall.
"Can't wait to chat with you again Erica"
The following day
Scarlet red eyes peered out of the foggy window to make out a building in the distance. It's been a week since the incident at the Fumiko home, and 3 weeks since he started attending Goldendale Academy.
"I want you home by 3 today"
"What why I was supposed to hangout with Dustin today?" Ren asked in confusion.
"ITS BECAUSE I SAID SO!"
The hair on the back of Ren's neck began to stand up by how loud Erica shouted.
The two panted heavily, Erica from how loud she yelled, and Ren out of nervousness. She moved back and sank into the seat of the car "I'm sorry I just..."
The white part of her eyes began to redden as she placed her head against the steering wheel "...Want you to be safe"
Ren stared up dazed and opened up the car door only to get out of it. He gripped at his backpack and didn't say anything as he walked to school.
Immediately when he entered the academy he was greeted by the glares of several other freshman. Of course this wasn't anything new to him, due to him starting off his reputation by calling everyone in his graduating class out.
His attention shifted from right to left only to see the harsh stares of the people around him. Some had eyes filled with disgust, and others with disbelief.
As he began to walk forward the stares became more and more intense. A uncomfortable sweat rolled down his forehead, and the pressure of their stares slowly weighed him down.
The students didn't speak as they watched Ren awkwardly walk to his locker. His footsteps echoed against the tile floor which sent waves of uneasiness throughout his body.
Within a single moment Ren stopped, he was in the view of his dark red locker only to be left astonished by its new appearance. The locker had massive black letters on it that spelled out the word "Peasant"
His scarlet eyes quickly became dull and his hair shifted allowing it to hang forward and hide his eyes from the public. However he continued forward and quickly spun his lock putting in the combination. As the door swung open he was shocked to see a large bubble crammed into his locker. It was filled with an odd black liquid, but after a snap from a student the bubble burst and released a wave onto him.
Immediately the room was filled with laughs of various students.
"That idiot totally fell for it"
"That's what he gets talking all that smack to us."
"A filthy mongrel like that doesn't deserve to be here with the elite"
Light footsteps echoed down the hall, as they became louder the voices of the students lowered. Soon enough everyone averted their gaze onto the two people standing in the center of the room.
They both wore the red and silver uniform but had badges placed onto their shoulders.
The badge read Goldendale Student Council
The students froze in fear and all began to whisper among themselves "How rare of them to show their faces before class starts like this..."
One of the students stepped forward, he had Noble like look to him. His silver hair was combed and neatly parted to the right. His eyes were as clear as the Hawaiian sea, and his teeth were as pure as snow. He smiled brightly at Ren and spoke in a charismatic tone as if he were trying to draw him in.
"You must be the transfer student who I've heard so much about."
Ren shook his head back and forth like a dog causing the ink to fly from his hair. It splattered everywhere and even a drop hit the side of the boy's face. He lifted up his finger and quickly wiped it away before continuing his conversation with him.
"I'm sure you heard a lot about me, after all I've managed to make a pretty good name for myself in the past few weeks." Ren spoke sarcastically.
"You defeated Mason, beat up Olivia and even managed to cause Suzume to withdraw from the student council. I have to admit I am quite impressed."
"After hearing all these things about you I couldn't help but want to see who you are face to face. Little did I know I was only going to be disappointed."
The boy continued to speak in his cheerful and appealing tone, he was very expressive when he spoke using his hands quite a bit to get his point across.
"I hope you enjoyed the gift me and Marie left you, the color black seems to suit you well. Besides after what you did to all my subordinates its only fair I pay you back right?"
A small line slowly grew larger and larger against Ren's forehead. It throbbed and pulsated from the sheer humiliation and anger Ren felt running through him. His neck stiffened and his fist tightened.
Marie noticed this and was able to step forward when Seth placed his hand in her way "I'll handle this"
"Ren's eyes narrowed and his voice began to sound raspy "People like you piss me off the most!" His fist shot forward like a canon and slammed against the side of Seth's face.
His body then leaped upwards and spun mid air just to kick him in the chest pushing him back. Seth grinned and weaved to the side unaffected by the two attacks. "All talk but no bite"
His hand moved upwards and a silver liquid came from his palm forming two large rings. "Silver Kick" suddenly after muttering that phrase and leg made from the same material shot forward and crashed against Ren's face. "And another"
The other ring Seth created levitated above Ren's head and now a silver arm burst downwards and slammed into the top of Ren's head forcing him into the tile floor.
The small teen crashed into the floor causing it to break from the impact, and all the students watched in awe.
"I guess that's why you'd expect from anyone who challenges Seth." One of the students muttered.
"Yeah he is the son of the Mayor of the city after all."
Seth stared down at Ren with calm eyes as he noticed him struggling to get up. He placed both of his hands forward as blood dripped from both his nose and his mouth. He let out a groan followed up by heavy panting. His body trembled from how angry he was and bits of fire escaped from the opening of his mouth.
"You piece of-"
Before Ren could even finish his sentence Seth slammed his own foot against Ren's face pushing it into the ground "I can't blame you for feeling angry Tachibana. Not everyone is happy about their place in the world."
"But I want you to get used to yours..."
"Because your place in the world is to be beneath my feet" his voice was cold but joyful.
"That's enough!"
Seth jumped from the sudden shout of a feminine voice, he turned to see a tall girl with silver hair and brown eyes glaring at him. Her hair was tied back in a massive pony tail with a large french braid wrapped in the center. "I swear you freshman continue to act stupid like this."
She walked forward and pushed Seth causing him to stumble backwards. "Are you okay?" She asked helping Ren up. His eyes appeared to be hazed and let out groans instead of words.
"Oh my god..." she looked up at Seth disgusted "What the hell is wrong with you, why would you do this to a fellow student?"
"This is the guy who has made a mockery of our school Sarah. It's only fair that I-" before he could even finish he was cut off by the ridiculous shouting of the girl "You should be ashamed of yourself!"
She stood up and placed Ren's arm around her shoulder to help him walk "I don't understand why you are even involving yourself in this situation." Seth questioned.
"Because if I don't who will."
The crowd quickly shifted as Sarah made her way through to leave the area.
After some time Ren's eyes slowly opened to see a blurry face starring down at him. "Boy you sleep for a long time don't you."
Ren's eyes shot open and he let out a scream before head butting her "AH WHAT THE HELL!"
Sarah winced and fell back from how hard Ren crashed into her. He quickly sat up and looked over at her to see a large red mark on her forehead and tears in the corners of her eyes.
She made a really ugly face in an attempt to desperately not cry "Is this how you treat people who help you out? You damn jerk!" She shouted.
Ren looked at her confused and held his head "What are you talking about..."
Sarah let out a sigh and stood up slowly before brushing herself up "I guess I shouldn't be surprised with that many hard hits to anyone's head memory loss should be a given."
"What was the last thing you remember?"
Ren stayed quiet and leaned against the wall and tugged at the sheets. He thought back to Seth beating the crap out of him and quickly frowned "The last thing I remember is that preppy prick slamming his foot into my head." He explained.
"You pretty much remember everything before I showed up then." She said in a somewhat positive tone "I'm sorry about what happened earlier, my brother tends to get aggressive like that sometimes."
"Brother?"
The girl then nodded and rubbed the back of her head sheepishly "Oh my bad I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Sarah Vermillion I am a sophomore here in the academy and the older sister to the student council President."
Ren's face froze "What type of mess did I get myself into now..."
