Jeff stood up from the couch. "You sound upset. Why don't you come on over and talk about it?"

Scott took a few steps forward, not intimidated in the slightest. "Why don't you fuck off?"

Jeff came even closer, reaching out to squeeze his shoulder. "Come on, Scottie. Talk to me."

Scott shoved his hand away. "Don't touch me. Get out of here, now." Without even bothering to hide it, he pulled his phone out and called Avi.

"Who are you calling? Rick told me to come here."

"I'm not calling Rick, you dumbass." Scott muttered, before speaking to Avi. "Hey, man. I'm about to beat the shit out of somebody. Please come to my house to help me get blood out of the carpet. Thanks."

Avi spoke loudly. "Woah, woah, woah.. You're doing what?"

"Just hurry." He muttered, before hanging up.

Jeff tilted his head a little. "Gonna beat me up, huh?"

"If you don't get the fuck outta my face. Yeah."

Mitch answered his phone with a sniffle. "Hi."

Alex spoke quickly. "Mitch, come outside. Right now."

Mitch hopped up from his bed, grabbing one of Scott's sweatshirts to throw on as he hurried out of his bedroom. "You sound worried. Are you okay?"

"I am, yeah."

"What does that mean..? Is someone hurt? Is Avi okay?"

"Just.. Come outside, okay?"

Mitch did so, glancing at his parent's room briefly as he heard them arguing.

He hung up on Alex when he walked outside, going to Avi's window to speak to him. "What's--?"

"Get in the car. Scott's in the hospital."

Mitch's heart seemed to stop for a moment. "What?"

"Just get in, okay? Don't pass out."

Mitch obeyed him, unable to think about anything else. "What...? What?"

Alex got out, just to move to the backseat with him. "Hurry up and drive, Avi."

Avi nodded, quickly backing out of the driveway.

Alex put an arm over Mitch's shoulders, as Mitch's trembling hands came up to cover his mouth.

Alex hugged him sideways, as Mitch hid his face in Alex's neck. "Shh, honey... It's okay. He's okay."

Mitch felt more tears come to his eyes. "What even happened?"

"He got in a fight, babe... But trust me, he was on the winning side. He's hardly hurt at all, honestly. But... Avi was worried."

Avi glared at him in the mirror for making him sound like a softie. "He was bleeding."

Mitch glanced over. "He was? Really bad?"

Alex rubbed his back quickly. "Babe, take a deep breath. You're gonna give yourself an anxiety attack."

Mitch shook his head quickly. "Doesn't matter. Is he okay?"
