Scott instantly took off running, pushing through floods of people to follow the football players.

Thank God he ran past his group of friends, because he instantly looked to Avi. "Get Alex and come here!"

Avi didn't hesitate in doing so, and soon all three of them were following Mitch into the locker room.

Scott got there just in time to see them shove Mitch into a locker, causing Mitch to cringe and then his eyes widened.

Scott hurried over, shoving one of them away. "You're outnumbered. Fuck off."

Avi and Alex both ran into the room right then, Alex looking horrified at the idea of what was happening.

Avi marched over to the second football player. "What is the matter with you? Don't you know when to give up?"

He merely turned to swing at Mitch, wanting to complete what he'd been trying to do since the beginning.

Mitch cringed to take the hit, but Avi gave him a shove, allowing Scott to grab the football player's wrist and squeeze it.

Scott then yanked him closer, to whisper a growl to him. "If you ever want to throw with this arm again, you'll get the fuck out of my face right now."

Alex grabbed the back of the other guy's jersey, and hauled him out of the room without a thought.

After the second man scurried to follow him, Scott marched over to Mitch and eyed him up and down. "Are you okay, Cutie?"

Mitch nodded a few times, placing a hand over his heart to help it calm down. "I think so."

"Did he hurt you at all?" Scott's expression darkened a little. "Did they touch you?"

"No. No I'm okay." Mitch responded quietly.

Alex wandered back into the room, closing the locker room door with wide eyes. "What on earth just happened?"

Scott walked Mitch to and from each class for the rest of the day, and Mitch didn't say a word.

It came in handy when they were going to Mitch's final class of the day, and a few of the football players jogged by.

Mitch flinched when he saw them, grabbing onto Scott's bicep almost forcefully.

Scott turned a little, keeping himself between the team and Mitch. "Cutie, are you sure you want to go to class? I can just take you to your house."

"Can't miss anymore class than I already have."

"Mitch... You have a good reason to skip."

"Doesn't matter." He started walking again, in front of Scott, until another couple of football players walked by, and he went right back to gripping Scott's arm.

Scott couldn't bear the fear on his face, and he hugged him once. "Baby, are you--?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I'm going to class."

Scott shook his head slowly. "Okay."

*

When the bell rang, Mitch hurried out of his classroom to see Scott and Avi waiting for him.

Mitch frowned, and reached out to grab Scott's hand as they now walked toward the parking lot.

Avi offered to carry Mitch's backpack for him, to which Mitch agreed.

Scott was trying to be casual as they walked along, but Avi was blatantly glaring at each football player that went by.

Mitch looked up at Scott then, as they neared his car. "Are we going home?"

"I'll drive you wherever you want to go, Cutie."

"Can I come hang out with you for a little while?"

Scott paused, swinging his car keys around in his other hand. "I don't know, babe... Dad's home right now."

"So?"

"I don't really want you to meet him, honestly."

Mitch frowned. "Okay. I guess just drop me at home then."

"I'm sorry, babe. I'm just looking out for you, honest."

Mitch shook his head slowly. "It's fine."

Avi looked up at Scott. "Hey, if he wants to be alone with you, just go to my house. Folks are out for a few days. You have my key right?"

Scott nodded once but then shook his head quickly. "Avi, no. I don't want to kick you out of your own house."

"You're not. I'm offering. Maybe I'll just chill here, or get something to eat. I'll come back in a few hours, just text me when you guys leave."

Scott walked into the large house, tossing his keys on the table by the door so he'd know where they are.

Mitch waited until he'd closed the door behind himself, before his composure began to chip away gradually. "Scottie?"

Scott turned from where he'd been walking down the hall. "Yes?"

Mitch looked down at his hands as they started to tremble, and he shook his head slowly.

Scott rushed over, hugging him quickly. "Cutie, no. Don't cry, honey."

Mitch covered his face with his hands, and his shoulders shook a little as he sobbed once. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry, honey. What's wrong?" Scott rubbed his back for him, speaking in what he hoped to be a soothing voice.

"I was so scared, Scottie. I was so, so scared. I thought that... Since you were mad at me, you'd let them take me." He sobbed again, leaning into Scott's sturdy stance this time.

"I would never do that to you, Mitch. You know that."

"Of course I know that. But it was like... In the moment."

Scott hugged him a little tighter. "Aw honey, I--"

Mitch sniffled a little. "Scott? I don't wanna talk about this anymore. Can we just... Cuddle or something? Please?"

"Of course, baby." Scott hummed quietly. "Whatever you want."

Mitch broke away from him, to walk over to the couch. He then met Scott's eyes, and gestured down to it.

Scott walked over slowly, wiping one of Mitch's tears off of his face, before pecking his lips once. "You sure you're okay?"

Mitch nodded once, reaching up to wipe a few of his own tears. "Just.. Please lay down."

Scott obeyed him without a moment of hesitation, and laid his back down on the couch.

Mitch crawled onto him, placing himself between Scott's legs. Mitch then slid his arms underneath Scott's torso as if to hug him while laying down.

Scott ran his hands up and down Mitch's back. "I'm sorry that stuff happened today, baby. You didn't deserve that. You're just... So sensitive. And so sweet."

Mitch just hummed, laying his head down so his chin was on Scott's shoulder.

Scott didn't know what else to say, so he didn't say a thing at all.

Mitch didn't talk either, instead he just pressed kisses to the side of Scott's neck, over a few of his tattoos.

Scott didn't move at all, but closed his eyes briefly. "Mitchie..?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you tell your parents where you'd be?"

"Yeah. Said I was tutoring someone."

"Okay good. So we have a few hours?"

Mitch sat up a little, meeting Scott's eyes with a smirk. "A few hours for what?"

Scott slowly slid his hand down Mitch's chest. "I think you already know."
