Scott reached out and held Mitch's hand across the table as they shared a small bowl of ice cream.

Scott ate a spoonful, before feeding a little to Mitch.

Mitch just giggled, glancing around at the other people in the restaurant. "I bet everyone's jealous of me right now."

"Yeah well they can order their own."

"No, silly. I'm talking about you. Ice cream is easy, but you, my love, are one in a million."

Scott froze, spoon in his mouth. He slowly pulled the spoon away. "Someone's feeling sappy."

"Am I not supposed to be excited that I'm on a date with you?"

Scott shrugged, pushing another spoonful of ice cream past Mitch's lips. "I dunno. Just... Usually I'm the sappy one. It's cute though."

Mitch grinned. "I am often told how cute I am."

"Oh, are you?"

"Yes. By you."

Scott smiled right back at him, bringing Mitch's hand up to his lips to kiss once.

The waiter came over to check on them, and grinned. "Oh, I'm sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to be sure you were having a good date-- I mean day!" He blushed a little. "I'm so sorry, I just wanted to see if I could get you anything else."

Mitch giggled at him. "We're doing perfectly fine, thank you."

"Good... Sorry to intrude... But are you guys on a date? Because you are just, so adorable." He blushed again, bringing his pen up to his face to chew on it a little.

Mitch smiled and nodded. "Yeah we are, actually."

"Sorry, I won't bother you any longer. Let me know if I can make your date any better!"

Scott finally spoke, giving the kid a nod. "Thanks."

He took the hint, and scurried off.

Mitch giggled, and then saw Scott's phone light up, from where it was placed on the table.

Scott frowned, setting the spoon down. "Honey, do you mind if I..?"

"Sure. You know I don't mind, babe."

"I know. But it's rude... I promise it's no one that's more important to me than you are."

Mitch rolled his eyes. "Scott, just check your phone."

Scott reached out to grab it, checking the screen, and then glancing up at Mitch. "It's just Kirstie. She wants to thank me for driving you."

Mitch grinned. "She's so sweet."

"I'm gonna wish her luck." Scott paused, typing something, and then he looked up at Mitch again. "Babe, will you get a waiter over here for the bill? We need to leave pretty soon."

"Okay. Tell Avi and Allie that we're gonna pick them up soon, so they're ready."

Scott looked back down at his phone. "Oh, that's smart."

Mitch stood from the table, and walked over to the hostess.

Scott set his phone back down, and then took out his wallet as Mitch walked back over to him.

Mitch sat down, holding the receipt in front of his own face for a moment. "Are you sure you don't want me to pay? Not even a little?"

"I'm absolutely sure. Give me the receipt, please."
