Couldn't help but do a PART TWO

Kevin watched as Landon shoved his hands in his pocket, a notably Scott thing to do. "Hey... Are you alright, Landon?"

He nodded a few times, walking slowly beside Kevin down the sidewalk. "Yes, Sir... I just wanted to... I wanted to be liked by someone. I didn't mean to put myself in danger. And... I didn't mean to make Grace upset, or... Cause a fight between our parents."

"I understand that. And you don't believe this was a flaw in your dad's parenting?"

"No, of course not. I didn't think about the consequences I guess... Before I did it."

"Can I just ask..? How far did this Alpha get with you? I understand if you wouldn't want to tell your parents, but... At least tell me so I know if I need to get you to a doctor."

Landon took a deep breath, and then looked up at Kevin. "Can I hold your hand?"

"Of course." Kevin held his hand out toward Landon. "Talk to me, please, honey."

Landon squeezed his hand tightly. "I... Uh. I kept most of my clothes on, so I don't need a doctor. No diseases or anything, I promise."

"I'm glad to hear that. But.. Honestly? It's your body, Landon. I'm not saying you should just give your virginity away without thinking about it first, or even discussing it with your parents. But you should know that you can't always put others' before your own needs."

"I don't understand... You think I should go for it? And be with him?"

"If you believe that's what you want... Then yes. Whatever is going to make you happy. But... I think you should also consider who is going to be there for you all the time. Not just... Up for a rendezvous in the bathroom."

Landon held his hand a little tighter, looking up at him as if he held all the answers in the world. "What... Do you mean by that? How could I possibly know that..?"

"For example, I would state with certainty that Todrick is my best friend. He is also the love of my life. Similarly, your parents are probably each others' soulmates; I've never met any other couple so in love."

"So... You think I should be in a relationship with my best friend..?"

"Generally speaking, those kinds of relationships last the longest."

Scott was now pacing in his room, hair going all different kinds of ways due to his incessant pulling on it.

Kirstie was the one to walk in the room, her hands held in front of her. "Alpha? Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Where's Mitchie?"

"Downstairs. Do you want me to get him for you?"

"Please..." When she turned to go, Scott stopped her. "Wait, Kit... Do you think I've made a mistake? Do you think.. I'm a bad father?"

"No, no. I truthfully don't. It's normal for parents to protect their children from the world, especially Omegas. I didn't even know what the word 'rape' meant until I met Mitch, honestly. I had no idea Omegas were being abused, I had no idea Omegas could get hurt like that. I was protected too, but I turned out alright, didn't I?"

"Yeah... But you met Avi. You have an Alpha like Avi looking over your shoulder... And how long do I have to hide who Mitch is from his son? How long... Do we have to pretend you guys met Alex through School?"

Kirstie gave him a sympathetic look. "I don't know, honey... That's up to you and your wife."

Scott looked down at the ground, and then dropped to sit on the bed, immediately letting his head fall into his hands as he shook his head. "Okay."

Kirstie walked over, and sat beside him, putting a hand on his back. "Alpha, I'm sorry. I wish I had something more helpful to say. Parenting is very subjective, and it differs with each family. Don't think that my Alpha has any influence over your thoughts. He parents in a way, different from you."

"I just want to give him the best life that I can. And... I don't know how."

Avi walked in, and then stopped. "Hey, are you crying, Rooks?"

Kirstie stood then, and walked past Avi. "I'll go get Mitch."

Avi took a few steps toward Scott. "You alright, kid?"

"Yes, Sir."

"I didn't mean to get hypercritical with you... I know it's not my place. But... I was just defending my child I guess."

"I understand, Sir. In the long run... I'm glad Grace was there to protect him."

Mitch rushed into the room, walking around Avi to sit beside Scott. "Everything okay in here?"

Scott nodded, leaning into Mitch's side. "Mhmm."

Mitch kissed the side of his head, and put an arm over Scott's shoulders. "Promise?"

Scott stared at his own hand, as he held his pinkie up in the air. "Mhmm."

When Landon came home, he went straight to his room.

Grace was there within a few minutes to knock on the door.

It took a few seconds, but Landon opened the door slowly. "What?"

She looked overly apologetic as she stood before him. "I was just trying to protect you..."

Landon looked away from her. "Okay."

"Okay? So you forgive me?"

"I guess."

She sighed loudly in disbelief. "Lando... You can't be mad at me for something like that."

"So now you're in charge of my emotions too?"

"Jesus... Why are you acting like that?"

Landon frowned. "I... I don't know. I'm sorry, Gracie... It's just not fair that's all."

She reached out to try to grab his hand, and he allowed it. "What's not fair, honey?"

"I have absolutely no control over who you date, or kiss or anything like that. But the instant I want to be with an Alpha, you come in and..."

Grace nodded slowly. "I get it... I'm sorry."

"It's not really your fault. I appreciate what you were trying to do for me, I really do."

Grace squeezed his hand a little. "Still love me?"

"Of course I do. And you still love me?"

"More than you know, Landon."
