Landon was sitting on the couch beside Mitch, trying to do homework.

Mitch leaned toward him. "Honey? Did Dad tell you where he was going?"

"No. Just said he and Alpha Avi would be out for a while."

"A while?"

"Few hours, maybe? I don't know, Mama. I'm sorry."

"No, I'm just curious."

"He didn't tell you where he was going?"

Mitch leaned back in his seat, and shook his head. "No. He didn't."

"Are you guys having problems?" Landon asked innocently.

Mitch gave him a short glare. "No. Of course not."

Kirstie walked past them, giggling at something Grace had said. She turned to respond to Grace, walking behind her. "Maybe they're out partying or something."

Grace raised an eyebrow at her. "It's Thursday. Also, it's like four o'clock. That doesn't seem likely."

"I guess not. But it would be funny, wouldn't it?"

Mitch looked over at her. "He didn't tell you guys either?"

Kirstie turned to speak to him. "Nope. Not a word. Said it was 'official Alpha business'."

"Whatever that means."

Grace sat down on the couch on the other side of Landon. "Well, who cares? We'll just do something that's way more fun."

Mitch shook his head once. "No. Lando needs to finish his homework before he does anything."

Todrick walked down the stairs right then. "Oh, I can help you."

Landon stood up, taking his binder and his pencil over to Todrick. "I'm almost done. I just have one more question, and I'm kind of confused."

"Well, let's go in the kitchen and I'll see if I can help you."

Kirstie handed the remote control to Grace, gesturing to the television in front of them. "Why don't you pick a movie, and when Landon is done, we can all watch it until our Alphas come home?"

Scott was holding Avi's hand tightly, as the tattoo was scribbled onto his chest, directly under his other tattoo.

Avi was trying to joke around with him so he wouldn't think about it. "I don't know if I've ever told you this, but you look great without a shirt on."

Scott looked up at him slowly. "Are you trying to be funny?"

"When have I ever tried to be funny?"
