I had a great time shopping with Qing's mother at the start of this week. We went to Shanghai, popped into as many stores as we can and...just shop.

I wouldn't say it's perfect. There were awkward moments for sure but I still think I made a great stride in putting things back to normal again between us.

I did saw Qing's mother discreetly looking at my engagement once or like seven times but who's counting. I'm just glad I spent time with her without her crying or looking disappointed at me.

Qing was happy too. Why won't he be? I managed to get all the stuffs he asked me to buy for him. I checked out all the items on his list. While I was missing three items on my list. I want to buy a trench coat but the one I saw was the wrong color. I debated with myself if I can endure wearing a navy coat instead of the mustard colored I want. In the end, I decided that I have too many dark colored coats, I need more brightly colored ones so I didn't buy it.

Mama volunteered to pay for my stuffs but I'm glad to report that with the eighteen items I got for myself, I managed said yes to her buying only five of them. Qing paid for four items in my list, payment for being his shopping boy, and the rest, I bought with my own money. See? Improvement

Believe me, in the past, between Qing and his parents I barely get to spend my own money when I am shopping with them. It always felt like shopping with my sugar daddy and his parents. If that was weird to all of you to read that, it's because it's really weird.

That's why I am happy that I get to spend more and more of my money during these shopping sprees. It's major improvement on my part, believe that.

Anyways, enough about shopping and more about this. I'm currently following a riveting drama about married couples who cheats on each other. It was really fascinating that I cannot help but chatter about it to Qing every chance that I got.

Me: This man cheats on his wife. Someone took a video and it turns out, the one who took the video was his son! Argh!

Qing: (barely interested because he is reading a book about boring dividends) Oh...and then...

Me: And then this cheating husband's wife got the footage...she was trying to find out a way to get more evidence so she can divorce him!

Qing: Oh. I see...

Me: (still passionate) And so all the drama started. But wait, did you know what happened next? (smacking Qing's arm) Ask me what happened next? Quickly!

Qing: (long suffering sigh) Do I have to?

That's when I realized that while I am babbling about my favorite drama, Qing was barely paying attention to me. He is clearly lacking passion to listen to me.

Me: (getting annoyed) Aren't you suppose to show interest on the things that I find enjoyable? Or at least show that you are trying to pay attention...

Qing: Of course. I'm sorry...

Me: Don't say sorry and show interest, Qing!

Qing: But it's too soap opera for me, Dayu ah! Don't you have anything that is not...I don't know...too tacky?

Me: (affronted) You think my taste in drama is tacky?!

Qing: No! Just this one. I like watching some of the drama you liked watching before. What's that one we watched together...the one with that cute guy and the female lead was older than him. Rain something something...

Me: That's so last year, Qing!

Qing: Even so, I enjoyed that one. What about with that drama with one of your favorite actor? The doctor one...
