Mrs.Robinson and I got to the hotel's clubhouse just fine. After walking on the grass under the sun, being inside an air conditioned establishment is bliss.

I ordered lemonade while Mrs.Robinson asked for a glass of mimosa. We sat on a table and exchanged stories. Like I told Qing and the others, my English is decent. I can communicate just fine. And besides, even if my English is worse...it'll be nothing compared to Mrs.Robinson's Mandarin.

Which is almost non-existent.

Mrs.Robinson: I only ever learned useful phrases. My daughter is better than me at Mandarin.

Me: (smiling) You seem proud of her.

Mrs.Robinson: Oh yes. She is smart, beautiful, compassionate. Very kind. And adventurous. Like I said, she wants to have a PHD at studying life at the Antartic.

Me: Is she a climate advocate?

Mrs.Robinson: Are you?

I nodded.

Mrs.Robinson: Oh you two will go famously together. She loves nature and she believes that we need to do something drastic to slow down climate change.

Me: True! I mean, we have to do something about it. We only have one Earth and we have to take care of it for the future generations to come.

Mrs.Robinson: You sounded just like her. I think the world will be in great hands because people who cares like you and her exist.

Me: Yeah...well...

Mrs.Robinson: You and Qing do seem very close.

Me: (nodding) We are. We've known each other for over a decade now. Since the first day in university.

Mrs.Robinson: Do you know his family and their business as well?

Me: (slightly frowning) Not as well as members if their family...but I do have some idea about them and their business.

Mrs.Robinson: Can you tell me what you know? To be honest, this deal is important to our company and I want to know we are going through with it with good people.

Me: (smiling) Oh, you don't have to worry about that. The Wangs are good people.

I proceeded to tell her about some of the history of the Wang business and its importance to the family. I talked about Baba and Mama...how wonderful they are. I told Mrs.Robinson about how Baba and Uncle do their best to keep the business going and floating even though there are hardships on the way.

But even though I am disclosing some information on Mrs.Robinson, I was still careful about spilling it all. Besides, what do I know about the biggest secret in the family business. I barely know business. All I can tell Mrs.Robinson was how wonderful Qing's family are and their ethics and beliefs in business.

After having drinks and light snacks, Mrs.Robinson and I left the restaurant and found a small painting exhibit at one of the hotel's function rooms. The entrance fee is reasonable enough so I paid for the both of us to see the arts being displayed inside.

I am quite into arts these past few weeks. Since getting the contemporary red butterfly painting as a birthday gift from Qing's parents, I have been browsing magazines and books about different types of arts. From painting to pottery to jewel making. Even calligraphy and mural works. I am lightly reading on them all.

The exhibit we entered into showcase a collective exhibitions of photographs about life. It featured photos of different people, animals, plants and other living creatures in their natural habitats and everyday motion.
