You're P.O.V
"So How is marriage life Noona?" My little brother Jisung ask over the phone. I was currently in the kitchen drinking some hot chocolate because it's snowing and it's chilly. "That my "husband" doesn't say or ask me anything and just completely ignores me . Yeah it's great," I answer him. "Sounds like your not a big fan of him?" He says "nope," I tell him "he's not mean to you or anything right?" He ask "no he just doesn't say anything to me like he forgets that I'm here." I tell him . "Do you guys even sleep in the same room?" He ask . "We do sometimes but he sometimes falls asleep in his office and me with my school work always being on the computer I end up sleeping in my office or on the couch," I tell him.
"So I'm not going to get a niece or nephew for a while aren't I ?," he ask . I froze for a minute and had a annoyed face. "Mom and Dad have been telling you to ask me about that aren't they?" I ask him . "Yes I'm sorry Noona but you won't answer their calls. Yet again I don't blame you,"he tells me. It's true after going out with my friends for a bit for my 21st birthday I came back home and my parents tell me that I'm getting married in a week. Saying this marriage was arranged when I was born , I was so angry and confused.
It explains so much because I was never allowed to date , or be around boys period . So all throughout high school I never dated and focused on studying and hanging out with friends. But my future husband Shim Changmin or Max he likes to be called is 2 years older then me the son of a ceo who he works along side his father. Me a College student in my 3 year now and studying fashion. I met him at the alter and now we are married, turns out he knew about the marriage for 2 years .
We don't talk to each other or anything he literally has told me not to worry about him. He can do his own laundry and make his own food and clean up after himself. Which I am thankful for, but my parents expected me to give up school and be a fucking house wife. Nope I'm going to work, yes I want kids but not now it's been 7 months since we got married and my parents and his already expect us to have been pregnant by now. We didn't even do anything on the honeymoon . But over all Max and I don't talk to each other . Right now he's at work and I just got down with school work and cleaning.
"Well tell them, they rushed me to get married they can wait for a fucking baby," I told him "sis language." He tells me "well I'm sorry but it's their fault they should have told me about the marriage in the beginning not exactly one fucking week before the wedding. Max knew about it for 2 years how is that fair to me?," I tell him "ok ok calm down I see your point." Said Jisung. I lean on the counter and put my hand on my forehead and felt tears leave my eyes. "I'm sorry Jisung, I'm taking all my angry out on you. It's just that even though Max is not rude or mean to me . I'm just not happy here or with him , and it's not his fault," I admit to my brother in tears.
"Noona please don't cry, it makes me want to cry," he says . "I'm sorry," I tell him "you have every right to be upset after everything. But would you give him a chance?" He ask me . "If he opened his heart out to me I would and I would do the same for him." I told him. We were quiet for a little bit. "Listen Jisung I got to go love you," I tell him. "Love you too Noona," he says and we hang up. I put my phone down and grab my still warm mug of hot chocolate and decided to go sit in the living room .
"Hey," someone said I jumped and dropped my cup and it broke. I look at who said that it was Max leaning on the wall.
I lean down to pick up the glass end up getting a cut on my finger. "Ow," I said . I tried cleaning up again but my hand was grabbed. I look it was Max, and we stood up he walk over the glass and drags me upstairs and into the bathroom. "Sit down ," he told me I sat on the toilet seat and he got out the first aid kit and started bandaging my finger. "Sorry for scaring you like that," he says to me "it's ok," I tell him. He looks at me and then looks up and down. "Why are you wearing shorts when it's cold out?" He ask me. I was wear white shorts with a long sleeved pastel green shirt and my hair was up in a ponytail. "I was not planning on going outside or anything." I tell him.
He looks at me and uses his free hand to wipe something of my face. It was a tear, he finished bandaging my finger and stands up. "Go change since you have hot coco on you I'll clean up the glass," he tells me . I nod my head and went to our shared room. I grabbed a long baggy pink long sleeved shirt and some black leggings. And fixed my ponytail. I look at my finger that he bandaged . "This is the most he has spoken to me in 7 months," I said quietly. I left the room and went downstairs and saw the mess was cleaned up and I went into the kitchen and saw that he made me a new cup and himself one.
He wasn't wearing his suit jacket and tie and was currently on his phone. He saw me "I got you a new cup, you don't mind I have some if that's ok?" He ask me "not at all I made a lot by accident," I told him and sat down on the bar stole in front of him grabbing my new cup and taking a sip from it. I'm going to try and make conversation, "How was work?" I ask him. "It was fine busy as usual, Dad wants to see us soon with my mom and your parents tomorrow how do you feel about it?," he ask me. I froze that he mentioned my parents but I have to be a big girl and go along with it. "I'm ok with it," I told him . "You sure?" He ask me "yeah," I told him taking another sip.
"What did you do today?" He ask me . "The usual school work and cleaning nothing much since I can't go out with the snow and all." I told him. "You're studies going ok?" He ask me "yeah they are going good," I tell him "that's good," he tells me . And takes a sip from his cup. It was quite for a while , "Did you eat today?" He ask me "a little bit but not a lot with my school work and stuff I don't have the time," I tell him . He looks at me and flicks my forehead lightly I covet it with my hand . "Dummy take a break once and while I have to go to meetings and do paperwork but I give myself a break and eat. Think about your health," he tells me. I nod my head in response.
"I'll make you something," he tells me. I am surprised. "You don't have to do that," I tell him. "Is it's ok for you to make my lunches for work everyday when I told you not to do it, but it's not ok for me to make you something?" He ask me . I kept quiet. "Thought so just stay there and hey if you don't like it you don't have to eat it," he tells me. And goes to cook. I blush .
The next morning
I woke up to see that Changmin has left for work and he made me breakfast and coffee. Last night he made soup and it was great he was asking me questions about things like want to know me. I tell him and ask him in return I can't believe this. I eat and start my day .
A few hours later
I got done cleaning and since I didn't have any school work, I made lunch and took a shower . Changmin will be home in a few hours, I dried my hair and straighten it put on light make up . And decided to wear this .
I put on my shoes and once I was done. Changmin texted me he is here, I grabbed my coat and bag. I locked up the house and got in the passenger seat and buckled up and we left.
A few minutes in the car
We were sitting in silence until he broke it. "You look lovely," he tells me "thank you," I say to him . "I heard your brother will be there so I hope that makes you a little bit better," he tells me . I let out a sigh of relief usually Jisung is not aloud to come . "That's good to hear," I tell him . "You nervous?," he ask me . "Well yeah because I know what they are going to ask us and I don't feel comfortable with it," I tell him. I look at the window seeing the snow fall.
I felt one of my hand getting taken in my lap, I look down it was Changmin's hand. I look at him "speak your mind ok don't be afraid, don't hold in your emotions ok tell them how you feel ok. Even if it is front of our families don't hold back you don't have to pretend everything ok," he tells me and looks at me for a 2nd and smiles at me and goes back to focus on the road. But still holding my hand. Is he really opening his heart to me ?
The Shim home
He parks the car and gets out and goes to my side and opens the door for me and offers his hand. I unbuckle and take his hand and get out of the car and shut the door. He takes my arm and we link arms he laces his fingers with mine. "Remember what I said you don't have to pretend," he tells me. "Are we now?" I ask showing him our hands . He smirked "I'm not pretending love," he tells me. I blush and we walk up to the front door and go in . "Hello?" He says . The we see Jisung. "Oh Hyung, Noona you're here," he said . Then Changmin's mother came to greet us. "Good to see you both come sit down with us in the living room dinner will be ready shortly," she tells us . Changmin takes off his coat and I took off mine as well and we put them on the coat rack.
He took my hand again and we follow her and Jisung. Saw his father and my parents and we sat down on the empty sofa. And his mom pored us some tea , "So you two getting along ok?" Ask his father. "Just now we are," Changmin response to him . "Now? What have you been doing the last 7 months together?" His mother ask us. "I have been working and she has been doing her school work." He tells them the truth. "So we won't be expecting any grandchildren right now?" ask my mother. I froze and put my cup of tea down.
I put my hands in my lap, Changmin put his hand over mine. "Mother it's only been 7 months we will have children when we're ready. Most importantly when she is ready," he tells her. I look at him and have a small smile. "When will that be?," ask my mother "like I said when she is ready," he tells her "but when?," she ask looking at me. "Mother stop it, I'm not ready I don't know when . I want to focus on school at the moment," I tell her . She then looks at me annoyed . "Well whenever you two are ready we can't wait," says his mother.
After dinner
I was walking in the hallway after leaving the bathroom and saw my parents waiting for me. My father looks at me, "Can we have a word with you?" He ask me . I nod my head yes and walk up to them. "Explain right now why are you now just getting along with him?" He ask me . "Like he said he's been working and I been doing my school work we don't have time to talk," I told them . "Didn't we tell you to quit this dream of yours of being a designer," he tells me . "Yes and I don't want too, I don't want to be a housewife and I don't want to be a stay at home mom. You got what you wanted I'm married to him , now let me do what I want I want to finish school start my career for a few years and then have kids," I told them .
"What about Changmin? I bet he's not a fan of this . I bet he was expecting you to be a housewife," said mother "nope he literally told me he can cook, and clean for himself." I told her. "You are lying," said father "nope I'm not. And while I have the both of you here. I can't believe you two would do this to me? Make me get married and tell me after my birthday expect me to be excited I wasn't. How is that fair to me? When he knew for 2 years . Got my first kiss taken by a man I never even met, who knows nothing about me. And I know nothing about him , and you expect me to give up everything for him? No I'm not saying Changmin is a bad guy or anything but why do this to me?" I ask them.
"We didn't want you to pick the wrong man, and not only that Changmin's parents and us have been working together for a long time and we wanted you two together," said Father "you could have least told me about him years ago that way we can get to know each other not meet at the alter," I told them. "We had a fear you wouldn't like him," said mother . "Really ? So you had a fear I would hate him, and cancel the wedding if I didn't like him?" I ask them "yes," they both said . "Oh my god I'm done with this talk," I told them and walk past them .
I ran into someone it was Changmin. "Sorry," I told him "you ok?" He put a hand on my shoulder. "I just want to go home," I told him. "Ok let's go home," he tells me and takes my hand, we said goodbye grab our coats and got in the car and left. During the entire ride home Changmin held my hand .
At home
We finally got home and put our coats away. "Hey why don't you go take a bath and relax for a bit," he tells me . "What about you?" I ask him . "I'll take a shower when you're done, I need to talk to you anyway," he tells me . I nod my head and head upstairs.
2 hours later
I just got done making hot chocolate, Changmin is in the shower. I'm currently wearing my hair down it's still a little damp but not so bad . I'm wearing some long sleep pants that are black. And a long sleeved baby blue shirt. I heard footsteps it was Changmin. Wearing long sleep pants that were a dark green and short sleeved grey shirt. He looks at me, "I'm made so coco for us," I told him . Showing him the two cups, he smiles . "Thanks let's drink them on the couch," he tells me . I smiled "sure," I tell him. And carried the two glasses and put them both on the little coffee table in front of the couch.
He took his and took a sip and put it back down. I did the same, "so what did you want to talk about?" I ask him . He turns his body to look at me, I look at him. "About us, I heard you talk to your brother on the phone yesterday. I'm sorry I know that is none of my business but I couldn't help but hear it ," he tells me . I let out a breath . "What did you hear?" I ask him . "That you're not happy here or with me . Even though you said it's not my fault I feel like it is . I also heard if I opened my heart to you and you do the same. That's when I knew things had to change I don't want my wife not to be happy with me . I want her to be happy but I'm doing a horrible job at it," he tells me .
"Changmin I'm sorry, it's just I didn't know about you or the marriage until my birthday and one week later I'm marrying you. I know nothing about you or knew about you, heck you knew for 2 years did you know anything about me?" I ask him "I did my father gave me a picture of you. I still remember when he told me.." he says
Flashback Changmin's P.O.V
"This is her son," said father. Handing me the picture across his desk, I look at it and smiled. "She's beautiful," I told "isn't she what her father has told me she is studying fashion design. But they want her to be a stay at home wife," he tells me . "She can work if she wants to I'm not going to stop her," I tell him looking at him . "That's great son , treat her well," he tells me . I nod my head yes and look at the photo again. "Does she know about me yet? or about this arrangement?" I ask him "I don't know if she does yet. But I'm sure she is going to think you're handsome," he tells me. I just smirk.
End of flashback.
I look at Changmin when he told me that. "After that Father and Mother, including your parents told me more and more about you . Like your favorite color, your best friend everything. And everyday I got so happy and couldn't wait to meet you , I would ask your parents if you knew anything about me? Or I could maybe meet you before the wedding that way we could get to know each other but they would always change the subject or say you were busy with school. I was always so confused why? Why couldn't I meet you ? Why I had to wait? Until I found out at the wedding. When I over heard my father and yours talking , my father was so disappointment in yours for not telling you anything about me , and the arrangement and waiting on your birthday and A week before the wedding. Apparently you didn't want to leave your dressing room , that you were crying saying you're not coming out and you were not going to marry someone you knew nothing about. I felt awful like it was my fault, I wanted to cancel everything and go and talk to you. But apparently you came out and changed your mind and I was so confused why? Why did you change your mind?" He ask me .
I felt tears leave my eyes . I wiped them away . And look away from him and look at my hands that were on my lap. "I didn't change my mind , my parents threatened to disown me and leave me in the states . Even said I wouldn't get to talk to my little brother again when they know how much Jisung means to me . He's not just my little brother, he's my best friend I couldn't lose him , so agreed to come out," I told him . He put his hand over mine , I look at him and he wiped my tears away with his other hand . "I'm sorry," he tells me .
"It's not yours fault, none of it is . I can't blame you on anything, I never hated you during these 7 months but I felt like you hated me" I tell him . "I never did I have and I know this is going to sound silly. But I love you just by what I was told I fell for you without even knowing you. But after what happened I was so scared that you knew nothing about me or what I look like, so at the wedding I told myself to not try anything and get to know you first before anything. That's why I didn't try anything on our honeymoon, I wanted to talk to you over these past 7 months but work kept me busy and you with your school work I just never got the chance and I want to change that," he tells me . I smiled at him, he wants a change and I do too. I hug him , "thanks Max I want that too , I want to know you I really do and part of me wants to fall in love with you and just by hugging you feels right," I tell him. He hugs me back.
"I'm glad you are giving me this chance, my feelings haven't changed," he tells me . We stayed like this for a while and then we pull away . He looks at me , "hey if it's ok with you can I," he stops himself. "What?" I ask him . "Can I kiss you?" He ask me . I nodded my head yes. He leans in and puts his lips on mine this just felt so right . He pulls away and lightly pushes me down on the couch my head resting on the arm rest . And leans in again and kisses me again. I close my eyes and wrap my arms around his neck and kiss back. He lightly bites my bottom lip, I open and he slips his tongue in.
After maybe a few minutes we pull apart. He leans his forehead on mine , I felt my heartbeat fast . We smiled at each other . "Thank you for giving me this chance to opening your heart to me and I for you," he tells me . I peck his lips , he smirked and I smile at him. And I pull him into a hug, and did not let go.
