Chapter 150 : Eco Condoms!

Spangna walked into the canteen and bought a loaf of bread to take back to her room as she didn't want to buy toast. She saw some of the girls at the table, and made her way over to ask them what they were wearing to the event room party that evening.

"Aye up everyone!" Spangna said with her usual bubbly tone.

But many of the girls didn't even look up from their phones.

Spangna turned towards Magda and Noir, "What are you all wearing tonight?"

A lot of the girls suddenly got up and left the table, with Noir and Magda exchanging guilty glances, and then following the others.

Spangna looked at them all leaving and wondered what on earth she had said to be avoided like this.

Lexi waited until the girls had left, then got up and sat next to Spangna, "Span, have you been to the bathrooms?"

"No, my apartment has a private bathroom, why?" Spangna asked.

"Look, I'm going to just tell you... there are some printouts of grainy security screen caps of the boss kissing you in the hallway." Lexi said.

"What?!" Spangna exclaimed.

"Yes. Everyone's now bitching about it. They view you as a sell out, and now view your success as a direct result of your banging him. You're now viewed as house and not asset. Personally, I think they're just being jealous and bitchy." Lexi said.

Spangna was always a tough girl, but her eyes were welling up, and tears started to run down her cheeks. She had always scoffed when Marcel warned her over the years that she would be vilified and ostracized if their affair was public, but she thought the girls would be more understanding than that. She thought that there would be some allowance made for true love between two human beings, no matter who they were.

"Is everyone talking about me?" Spangna asked, as she sniffed.

"Most of them.. but a few people are happy for you, like me.." Lexi said.

"And..?" Spangna asked.

"Hmm...let me think.." Lexi said, as she tried to think of someone, "Anyway, is it true? Are you sleeping with the boss?"

"Lexi! I'm here because of him! I joined only because I met him in a bar when he and Javier were on a recruitment drive. I stayed here to make money safely and to get to know him! We started seeing each other a few months after I joined. We had to keep it quiet for the now, obvious reasons! I've always loved him!" Spangna said.

"Okay Span, I gotta ask.. did he give you any special opportunities because you're a couple?" Lexi asked.

"NO! If anything, when my career started to take off, he tried to get me to leave the Bordello! Then he kept trying to dump me 'for my own good', but he couldn't because he's so in love with me. But here, he treated me the same as all of you. The only times I was treated any differently was when he was cross with me, I'd get a private telling off at home. If anything, it was always me trying to pull favours out of him for other people, never myself." Spangna exclaimed, on the verge of tears.

"Really? Like who?" Lexi asked.

"I told him to lay off Suzanne, and stopped him throwing her out for three extra months! But that blew up in my face when Lennon got behind her.." Spangna said as she dried her eyes with a tissue.

"Listen Span, I believe you, and I'm happy for you. But, Marcel does scare me...a lot. I mean, he's so bad tempered and when he shouts at someone, or slaps an asset, I can feel my heart sink, and I get a stomach upset from nerves."
