Lennon looked up, almost with a look of surprise, "Yes!"

Suzanne led him to a small room, and Lennon pushed open the door quietly. He moved slowly into the room, then stopped to look in a cot bed. He saw the little girl, just under two, asleep clutching her comfort toy.

Lennon bent over the rails to stroke her soft, round cheeks with his fingertips, "Aww...she's a little angel!" Lennon whispered.

"Yes, though, not so much when she's screaming." She said, comically.

"I love babies. I got lots of cousins with babies and children, so I'm used to dealin' with them." Lennon said, in the dark room.

'I'm glad." Suzanne said.

Lennon turned to Suzanne, "Darlin', are you in touch with the father?"

"No. So...she has no father. So it doesn't matter if I take her out of the country with me." Suzanne said.

"Wow! If I knocked some girl up, then she'd be taking my baby abroad over my cold, dead body." Lennon said.

"Yes, but I imagine you would make a good father, many men don't." Suzanne said.

Lennon heard a low whisper in polish, and turned to see Suzanne's mother by the door.

"Dinner's ready." Suzanne said.

"Okay, great!" Lennon answered, as they moved out of the room quietly.

They went into the small kitchen area where they sat at the table. Lennon was told that what they were about to eat was a dish called Pierogi ruskie, which to Lennon looked like ravioli of some kind.

Lennon loved the unusual flavours and textures of the strange food as he listened to them quickly catch up in Polish.

Then suddenly, her mother turned to Lennon, "Thank you so much for looking after my precious daughter like you do! If it were not for the kind old widow in Spain, I don't know what she would do!"

Lennon tried not to look confused, "Old widow?" He asked.

"Yes! The one who she cuts hair." Agnieszka said.

Suzanne cut in, "She means Dolores. I told her how I cut her hair, and did it so well that she only wanted me to style it daily. That she asked me to live with her, and how she pays me generously to be her personal assistant."

Lennon nodded slowly, solemnly understanding the situation clearly, "Yes. Dolores takes care of us all.

Agnieszka smiled back at Lennon, "Do you like living there?"

Lennon stopped chewing a moment, wondering exactly what stories Suzanne had furnished her mother with, "Yes. I...love it in Spain." He said politely, as he took a sip of his wine.

"I'm glad! And when are you both getting married?" Agnieszka asked.

Lennon choked as his wine went down the wrong way, while he wondered what the heck the reply was supposed to be. "Ermm...err...Suzanne told you...that?" He stammered.

"Yes. I'm so glad!" Agnieszka said happily.

Lennon just smiled nervously, then turned and looked at Suzanne, "Wow...I kinda thought, it was...like, secret."

Suzanne touched his hand gently, "I had to tell my matka." She said before she giggled.

Agnieszka glanced down at Suzanne's wrist, where she wore Lennon's gay pride band, and she pointed. "O mój Boże!" She exclaimed in shock, "Why did you wear that! That is the sign of the homosexual?!"
