You crept through the streets, your ears flat and your body tense. You were fully alert, aware that anybody could be watching. You were a hybrid between a turtle and a wolf. You had a white fluffy wolf tail, a bright green shell, long turtle like arms and legs, white wolf ears, and a small white muzzle with a cute pink nose. Your skin was smooth and light green colored. You could switch between walking on two legs or four legs. You had a bit of padding on your hands and feet. Claws could come out of your finger tips and the tips of your toes too. You only had three fingers per hand/foot. The front of your smooth shell was golden yellow. You were very beautiful for a mutant.
Your hand splashed in a puddle and you bounded forward, trying to keep a steady pace to stay elusive. You heard something above you. You looked up, eyes wide and ears flattened. You had been scared of getting caught ever since one human had tried to catch and dissect you. You scampered along, trying to get away. Suddenly, you were surrounded by people in full on black body suits. Their eyes glowed red. Your tail was tucked between your legs. You stood your ground, claws out.
Suddenly, a ninja star was in one of their heads. They sparked out and collapsed. Robots? You thought, surprised. Still, you saw your window. You bolted for it, whipping around the corner. You kept running, but a metal trap sprung up. You yelped in pain and you were tangled in metal wires and chains. The wire bit into your skin, causing you to bleed slightly. You whimpered in pain. You struggled, but it just dug in deeper.
Then, four mutants surrounded you. You felt terror. They had weapons and looked threatening. You whimpered in distress, twisting to get away. The wires cut into your skin and you let out a sharp bark of pain.
"Whoa! Hey, it's okay! We're gonna get you out okay?" The turtle wearing a purple mask said. He smelled of chemicals and that scent stung your noise. You whimpered, pulling back.
"She's not listening." The blue masked turtle said.
"Maybe she doesn't understand?" The orange one suggested. You spotted one wearing a red mask. He looked strong and slightly concerned. His eyes were bright green. His red mask framed them perfectly. You sniffed the air. He smelled like pizza and a little bit of sweat. You calmed down, his presence helping you relax a little.
"Hey...Raph, try petting her through the wire." The purple said.
"Why?"
"She saw you and then calmed down." The purple replied.
"Maybe she thinks you're nice!" The orange agreed. Raph sighed. He approached you and reached out. He scratched your ears and your body relaxed. He smiled a little.
"Can you hold still for me?" He asked. You gave a tiny bark. The purple masked turtle began to snip the wire and soon they were able to pull it off of you. You shook off your body. You looked at the one called Raph. You padded up to him. He smiled. He pet your head and you smiled. Your tail started wagging happily.
"Well, that went pretty well." The blue masked turtle said.
"Who'd have thought anything could like big grumpy Raph!" The orange teased. Raph glared at him.
"Shut up Mikey!" He said.
"So...what is she?" The blue asked.
"Looks like a hybrid mutant. Turtle and...fox?" The purple said.
"Wolf actually." You said, finally deciding to speak. They all jumped back.
"YOU CAN TALK!?" Mikey exclaimed.
"Yeah. I'm not stupid. I have human intelligence just like you." You said. You stood up on two legs.
"Then why were you scared of me?" The purple asked.
"Your scent stung my nose. I have a very very sensitive sense of smell." You said.
"But you knew we weren't trying to hurt you." The blue pointed out.
"I'm still an animal. It's my instincts. Some times they're stronger than other times. Scent has a big thing to do with friend and foe interpretation for wolves. If something smells wrong or unfriendly we react negatively. If something smells nice or at least okay, then at the very least we go check it out." You explained.
"Fair enough." The blue said.
"So, who are you two? I got their names already." You said.
"I'm Leo."
"I'm Donnie." They replied. You nodded.
"Thanks for the help." You said. "I'll just be on my way-"
"Hey wait! You're still hurt dudette! You should come with us! Donnie can patch you up!" Mikey said.
"Really?" You asked.
"Sure!" Donnie said. You smiled.
"Thanks!" You followed them along the rooftops. You liked it up there. It was cool looking at the city as you speed by on the rooftops above. You were running on all fours again. You could make longer jumps that way. Soon enough they stopped and hopped down into an alley. You leaped down. Your claws came out and you latched onto the wall of the building on the other side of the alley. You used your claws to slide down the wall until you were a safe jumping distance from the ground. You pushed off and landed perfectly. You padded over to them. Leo opened the manhole cover and dropped down first. Mikey and Donnie followed him. Raph waited for you.
"Nice moves by the way." He said. You smiled.
"You too!" You said and hopped down. Your hands and feet splashed down into the shallow water there. Raph landed next to you. You all walked along. Then Raph said,
"Hey, one question." You looked at him. "Why did you like me out of everyone?" You smiled.
"You look strong and tough, but you smelled nice and your eyes are nice. They made me feel calm." You said. He blushed.
"M-my eyes?" He asked.
"Yeah! They're a really great shade of green. Your mask frames them really well too." You said. He blushed even more.
"N-nobody's ever really liked my looks." You frowned.
"Me either." You said. He smiled at you a little.
"Well....you're fur is really pretty." He said, blushing and looking unsure if he should be complimenting you or not. You chuckled. You could tell he didn't act like this too often. You were glad the others weren't listening. They were talking about something else.
You nuzzled Raph's hand and he smiled. He pet you again and you smiled.
"Thank you." You said.
"Don't mention it." He replied. Soon, you arrived at their home. Donnie led you to his lab so he could bandaged your cuts. You sat down as he treated your wounds.
"Thanks Donnie!" You said.
"No problem!" He replied with a smile. You walked out of his lab and you decided it was probably time to leave. You began to head to the exit, but a hand grabbed yours.
"You don't have to leave right away you know." You turned as you heard Raph's voice. You smiled.
"Are you asking me to stay?" You asked. He shrugged.
"Why not? We don't get many visitors. Not that I'm complaining about that, but I have to say that those three get old after awhile." He said with a grin. You chuckled.
"Okay hot shot, what do you wanna do?" You asked.
"Let's go get something to eat." He said. You followed him to the kitchen and you both had some pizza and pop. You both hung out and had a blast making jokes and telling your own crazy adventurous stories. Then, you came to a less joyful story. "How did you become a mutant?" Raph asked. You frowned. You remembered the day it happened.
"I was an experiment of the Kraang. They were trying to see if they could turn one animal into another. They mutated me with wolf DNA and I turned into this. I lived in Dimension X for 12 years Kraang years. I've been here for the past 4 Earth years. You said.
"So you're 16 then?" He asked.
"I will be in a couple weeks." You said.
"Well, I'm 16 right now." He said. You smiled.
"Cool! We're around the same age!" You said. He smiled.
"Yeah." He agreed. "I'm sorry about the Kraang." He said.
"It's alright. It's not like it was your fault." You said. He nodded.
"So, you started out as a turtle then?"
"Yep!" You replied. "Were you a turtle or a human?"
"100% turtle DNA right here." He said. You chuckled.
"Nice!" You said. He nodded.
"It sure does have it's perks at times." He said. You nodded.
"Amen to that. Same for me with the wolf thing." You said.
"I'd imagine. Those claws are really cool." He said. You smiled and let your claws come out on your hands. They were razor sharp and pure white. They looked almost like curved and polished pearls. He smiled. "Nice." He said.
"Thanks." You replied. There was silence for a moment.
"Hey....I was wondering...do you have a home?"
"Not really. Why?"
"Well....maybe you could...ya know...stay with us?" He said, semi nervous about how you wold react. You smiled, tail wagging excitedly.
"Yeah! Thank you! I'd love to!" You yipped happily, latching onto him with a big hug. He smiled. He hugged back and when you both let go you licked his cheek. He blushed insanely. You stopped, realizing your mistake. You blushed with an embarrassed smile. "S-sorry, I-I didn't mean to-" He gave you a peck on the cheek. You blushed, stunned. He chuckled.
"Don't sweat it. We're cool." He said. You smiled.
"T-thanks, heh."
"Come on, let's go talk to Splinter. He's our Sensei. We can ask him if you can stay. I don't see why he'd say no." Raph said. You nodded and followed him. Well, the day could've gone worse! I got a friend and a home so I'd say that marks the checklist for a good day!
*2 weeks later*
You were snoozing in a dog bed laying in Raph's room. Mikey had found it for you and you had loved it from day one. You stayed with Raph some nights and others you took your dog bed. Raph would always ask if you were sure if you wanted to sleep on the floor. You'd tell him it was comfortable, but most nights you would hop into bed with him. He kept you company and most nights you'd chat with each other before going to sleep. You'd become great friends. Right now the guys were doing their own things so you had decided to catch up on your sleeping schedule.
Soon, the door opened and you lifted your head. You smiled as you spotted Raph. You stood up, shook yourself off, and then stood up on two legs and walked over.
"Hey Raph! I was just taking a nap!" You said. He smiled.
"Yeah, I can see that. We need your help though." He said. You frowned.
"What's up?" You asked.
"The Purple Dragons are planning on breaking into an old warehouse. We don't know why, but there's something in there that they want." He said. You nodded.
"Let's go!" You said. He smiled. You had been training with them and now you had your own gear. You were a very fast learner, so you were allowed to come on patrols and small missions.
You all headed out. You followed the boys to the location. You all soon made it to the building. You all crept inside and began to look around. You sniffed the air. Your noise wrinkled up in disgust. Leaky pipes. I smell loose gasoline in here. Well, this is a pretty old warehouse. You kept going. The boys couldn't smell it. It made no difference though. You kept low and you stayed next to Raph. You were on a high metal walkway. The main floor was below you. A giant machine was in the center of the room below you. You assumed that's where the gasoline was coming from.
Soon enough you found them. You saw them trying to get into a safe. You growled angrily.
"Easy (Y/n)." Raph whispered. Your growling got quieter. They got into it and the started to head out with loads of cash.
"Now Leo?" Donnie asked.
"Now!" He confirmed. You all jumped out and stopped them.
"Where do you boys think you're going with that?" You asked, your tail flicking to and fro angrily.
"Who the heck are you mutt-shell!" One said. The others laughed. You snapped. You charged. They looked shocked. You leaped at the one that had insulted you, pinning him to the ground. Your claws were out in a flash. The fight broke out. You saw the leader, Hun. He was a very good fighter.
You beat up the one that insulted you and then you whipped around to face Hun. Leo and Raph were handling the other goons and Mikey and Donnie had been tossed by Hun. You growled at him. He glared at you. You fought each other. You clawed his arm and he punched you in the gut. You lurched back, but you were fueled by determination. You kept fighting. He punched you in the face and you groaned in pain and you knelt there.
"Let's end this mutants." Hun said. "Fong! Get to the machine!" Hun yelled. You were confused, but then you realized what he had planned. Fong lit a match and threw it toward the machine. The Purple Dragons ran and you screamed,
"RUN!!!!!" You all bolted for the door. You knew you wouldn't make it in time. "GET DOWN!!!! BRACE YOURSELVES!!!" They got down and the machine burst into flames. It didn't explode luckily. Bolts started to fly like bullets.
"We've gotta go now!" Donnie shouted. You all raced to escape. Fires started forming all around the place. You all hurried to the door, but just as Mikey ran under a walkway up above, it collapsed, cutting you and Raph off.
"Raph! (Y/n)!" Leo yelled.
"Go! We'll find a way out!" Raph yelled. They hurried away. You and Raph hurried to find another escape route. The one the dragons took was blocked off. Suddenly, the machine exploded. You screamed. Heat blasted past along with smoke. Your eyes burned and were watering like crazy. You coughed, getting down on all fours. You had to stay low. You looked around. Raph was gone.
"Raph! *Cough, cough* Raph! *Cough* Where are you?!" You called. You hurried to find him. You heard coughing. You ran toward it. Raph was bruised, burned in a few places, and bleeding slightly.
"(Y-) *Cough* (Y/n)! Are you- *Cough, cough* Are you okay?!" He asked.
"We have to get out of here! This place is falling apart!" You said. You took his hand and you both hurried to find a way out. You could see nothing. The heat was getting to you. Your body was sticky with sweat and a bit of blood. Your lungs ached and your eyes had stopped watering from major dehydration. A beam fell behind both of you. You kept going. Raph was started to drag behind. His coughs were getting worse. Yours were too.
"(Y-Y/n)! *Cough, cough, cough* W-what do we do?" You were afraid.
"There has to be something! *Cough*" Raph suddenly collapsed onto his hands and knees. You gasped. "Raph!"
"(Y-Y/n)....it's no use..." He said, his voice hoarse.
"No! There's gotta be something!" You said.
"There isn't anything (Y/n). *Violent coughing* W-we're trapped." He choked out. You refused to give up. You grabbed his hand and yanked him to his feet. You pulled him along. You ducked under a metal stairway. Raph's hand fell away and you turned and saw him collapse. You raced back to him.
"Raph!" You exclaimed. You rolled him onto his side. He coughed and hacked weakly.
"(Y-Y/n)....we're done....." You began to cry. You were scared. You laid next to him and hugged him. He hugged you back. "(Y/n)...i-if this is the last chance I get to be with you, I have t-to t-tell you something." He said. You looked at him. "I-I love y-you." You smiled warmly at him.
"I love you too Raphael." You whimpered. You held each other tightly. Raph passed out soon after. You became even more scared. "R-Raph? R-Raph! RAPHAEL!!!" You cried out, shaking his limp body. You began to cry harder. You grew determined. You hauled him onto your back. You stayed on all fours and began to run with Raph on your back.
You charged toward the main entrance. You saw the broken walkway, burning ferociously and still blocking the only way out. You charged toward it. Your eyes were burning, your skin was sticky, your lungs ached, your body threatened to shut down at any second, but you kept running. You leaped over the flames and the broken walkway. You landed and all fours, but you didn't stop yet. You charged for the front doors. Your heart was pumping, your blood was racing, your legs were a blur from running so fast. You weren't going to die. Not today.
You smashed through the flaming doors. You leaped out of the building just before a huge explosion blew the inside to rubble. The blast knocked you off balance in the air. Raph was blown off your back and you did a sloppy unintended flip in mid air. You both hit the ground hard and rolled limply onto the pavement. You were panting, exhausted. Your vision was blurry. You saw the burning building. You felt hands on your body. You saw Leonardo. He was shouting something, but your ears were ringing too bad to hear him. Only the very muffled sound of his voice broke through. Your eyes drifted over and you saw Donnie around Raph and Mikey hurried over to you.
"Raph...." You breathed weekly and blacked out.
*2 days later*
"(Y/n)? (Y/n)? Can you hear me?" You opened your eyes. You were met with those same bright green eyes. The ones you'd been calmed by. Those amazing bright green eyes that you had fallen in love with. You smiled. He smiled back. "There you are." You sat up.
"I'd never leave that fast." You said. He hugged you. You hugged back.
"I thought I lost you." He whispered.
"I could say the same to you." You replied. He pulled back.
"(Y/n)....you saved my life. I thought we were done for, but you pulled through. You saved me and yourself." He said. You blushed.
"I-it was nothing-"
"Don't you dare say that. (Y/n), you're amazing. You broken out of a flaming building with me on your back weighing you down! If that's nothing, then there is never going to be anything that counts as something." He said. Then he cupped your cheek. "But I do know something." He began. "I love you more than anything." He kissed you. You gladly kissed back. Your arms wrapped around him and you both kissed roughly. When it broke you were both panting. You smiled at him.
"I love you too Raphie." You said. He smiled.
"Good, because I'm never letting you go again."
