I was fully healed now. It'd been a week since I'd fought (Y/n). It still broke my heart that I'd done this to her. I wanted to help her so badly. I was going to try. We had set a trap for them and now that I was healed it was time to try it.
We went to the surface and we looked over the city. We were trying to draw her out. For hours there was nothing. I sighed. Maybe she wasn't coming out tonight?
"Alright guys, let's get back. It's clear we aren't finding her tonight." I said.
"You'd think we'd find her in the first five minutes. When you blacked out she seemed all too eager to find us again." Raph retorted.
"Shredder probably kept her back at his lair tonight. We should get back before we run into someone else." I said. We all headed back to the lair and April and Splinter were waiting for us.
"Did you find her?" April asked.
"Nowhere to be found." Raph replied.
"We looked around most of the city. If she saw us, she didn't come after us." I said.
"You must try again tomorrow." Splinter said. We nodded. The guys went back to doing there own thing, but I went to the dojo to meditate. I was hoping it'd help me.
I sat down and relaxed. Soon enough my mind was clear, but it didn't last long.
I sighed and tried again, but I just couldn't keep my mind clear. It kept coming back had. "Show us what a fearless leader you are!" Her voice echoed. I ignored it, well, tried at least. I just kept hearing her voice. It just kept mocking me and I could clearly hear the hatred in it. "Leonardo Hamato, such a fearless leader. What a shame you fell so quickly."
"Grraah!" I yelled in frustration as slammed my hands onto the floor, breathing hard.
"Leonardo, what is wrong?" I looked up and saw Splinter. I sighed.
"I can't get what she said to me out of my head. She was right. I'm not the leader I thought I was." I said.
"My son, you mustn't listen to her words. She was speaking out of anger and thirst for revenge. Her words a nothing more than harsh lies. You are not a bad leader because you make mistakes. You are a great leader because you learn from your mistakes." He said. I thought about it. I nodded. He put a hand on my shoulder. "Anger will tell you lies, compassion will tell you the truth." He said and left. I still didn't know if what he said was true. This was the biggest mistake I'd ever made and now she wanted me and the guys to be dead. Even if what she said wasn't true, one thing was. This was my fault.
I went to my room and got some sleep after Splinter had finished talking to me. I laid down and stared at the ceiling for a minute. I still felt guilt at what Id done, but I pushed it away with a sigh and went to sleep. At least I could get some rest now. I yawned and soon my eyes became heavy. I closed them and I was greeted by darkness as I fell asleep.
I woke up and I found myself back at the docks. It was storming and I was alone. I looked around, feeling slightly afraid. I spotted something out of the corner of my eye. I went toward it, but I froze. My blood ran cold with terror. It was Mikey, Donnie, and Raph, but....they were dead. Raph was propped up against a crate and he had a katana in his shell. Mikey was on the ground facing away from me, but he was in a big puddle of blood. Donnie's arm and legs were bleeding and he had a ninja star in his head. I was shaking hard. I collapsed to my knees, crying. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I broke down, wrapping myself in my arm and crying hard. I felt everything crash down on me. The guilt, grief, and terror of losing my family. I felt alone and lost.
