(This is a part 2 to 'Damaged'. If you haven't read that you should read it before reading this one.)
You finally made it to April's old farmhouse. It was where she grew up when she was little. You had run away from New York and now you had to stay here. Leo hadn't woke up. You were so worried about him.
The boys got him upstairs and into the tub. Donnie said that staying in water would help him heal faster. Everyone looked so...lost in that moment. The others left, but you and Raph stayed. You both took it upon yourselves to watch him. You took turns sitting there, waiting. Other times you would sit together in silence and just wait.
For 3 long months, this is how it was. You and Raph constantly watched Leo. You all trained together sometimes, and everyone did their own things to try and make the best of the situation. Donnie was working on medicine for Leo, Mikey helped out around the house, Casey and April helped with other things, and you helped Raph with Leo.
You were all training together one day. Donnie had made you weapons so you could train with them. They were unique and you already knew some basic fighting skills, so you caught on quickly with them.
You were against Mikey. You both fought each other. Mikey was more trained than you, but you were a faster learner. You kept up with him and soon you actually beat him. He got back up and smiled at you.
"Whoa (Y/n)! You're getting good!" He said. You smiled a little.
"Thanks Mikey." You said. Then you heard Donnie and Casey fighting. April had to break them apart. You sighed. Things had been very tense lately. You zoned out, thinking hard about everything. With Leo still asleep, you all had no leader. You wondered if maybe you should try and lead. It was clear that you needed a leader. Just to fill in for him until he's better. You thought. Maybe I should talk to Raph about it. Just as you came out of your thoughts Raph stormed inside to watch Leo again. You followed him. The others said nothing as you did. They thought you were just going to help him watch Leo, but you'd been helping Raph through this too. You often talked to him as you both sat there.
You sat on the floor leaning against the stool Raph sat on. He said nothing to you. You didn't say anything either for a little bit. Then, you spoke up.
"Raph?" He looked down at you. "I...I was just thinking and I understand if you say no, but with Leo hurt...maybe...we should have someone else lead for a little bit?" He sighed.
"I don't know. At this rate...a new leader might turn out to be permanent." He said, grief in his voice.
"Raph, it's never easy, but a leader needs to make the hard decisions. I'm only asking you because I need someone to back me up on this. I wasn't planning on forever. I just think that maybe I would be able to help." You said.
"You? Leader?" He asked.
"I know how it sounds, but I understand how Leo thinks. I...I was hoping that if I took over until he's better you could help me with it." You said.
"So...like a co-leader?" He asked. You nodded. He thought about it. "You...you might be right." He said. "Okay. I know that like this I won't be able to lead, so we'll help each other." He agreed. You smiled.
"We need to stay strong not just for the others, but for Leo too. We'll do this together. We're going to get through this. I promise." You told him, hugging him gently. He let you and you saw the smallest smile.
"(Y/n), I know you love Leo and you want to help, but I have to be honest. Thank you. For helping me. You didn't have to do that." He said. You smiled.
"Raph, while I am in love with Leo, I not just here for him. I'm here to help you guys in any way I can. That's a promise." You replied. He smiled a little.
"Thanks. It really does mean a lot." You smiled.
"You don't have to thank me. You guys gave me a home and a family. Even here, I'm still glad to have you guys. I would probably be dead or mutated by now if you guys hadn't helped me. I owe you guys all of my life and energy. Don't worry. I'm gonna make sure we get through this." You said. He nodded.
"I know you will. You're stronger than you think." You smiled.
"Thanks." You said. You hugged him one more time and then you left. You would tell the others later. You needed to get some sleep. You went to your room and laid down. You guys had turned some of the spare rooms into bedrooms for each of you.
You laid down and as soon as your head hit the pillow your energy drained out of you. Your eyes became heavy and your body sank into the mattress. You nuzzled your face into the pillow and covered up. You yawned and then you drifted off into a much needed sleep.
Raph's POV
*5 hours later*
I watched Leo for the longest time. I hoped (Y/n)'s idea was going to help. She had gone to her room to get a little bit of sleep. She hadn't gotten any in the longest time. She said she did, but I knew that she often had nightmares and that she would sneak into the bathroom to watch Leo alone at night when I wasn't. I had woken up one night and decided to watch Leo some more, but I heard her talking to him from around the corner. I remembered everything she had said. "Leo, we need you. Please don't leave us. I don't know how I'm going to do this. I don't know how any of us are going to do this. I've lost so many people. My mother, my father, my mutant adopted mother, and now you're just here. You probably can't even hear me, but if you can, fight. I know you can make it through this. And I promise I won't leave your side. I love you Leonardo." She had given him a kiss on the forehead after talking to him. I had quickly gone back to my room so she wouldn't know I was listening.
I sighed. I looked at my older brother sadly. I shook my head. Leo...don't do this to us. I need you bro. I'm sorry for everything I've done. I hope I can still tell you that. I thought.
"I miss you." I said, not even aware that I was talking out loud. "We all miss you Leo. We need your help. We can't do this without you. And Leo...I...I love you, brother." Nothing happened. I sighed, closing my eyes sadly. I stayed like that for a minute, but then...I heard the water shift. I looked up. I saw him move. I felt my heart leap. "Leo?" I questioned.
"Mmmph..." He groaned. I stood up and gripped the edge of the tub.
"Leo! Can you hear me? Leo!" I said. His eyes opened.
"R..Raph?" I smiled.
"Leo! Thank god you're alright! Wait...the guys! GUYS! GUYS! GET UP HERE!" I shouted, excited. I had never felt so relieved and happy. Leo smiled as they came in.
"Leo?" Donnie asked with a smile.
"Hey guys." He said. Mikey instantly hugged him.
"Leo! You're back! Dude!" Mikey said.
"Ow! Mikey! That hurts!" Leo said.
"Hey take it easy." I told my youngest brother. "Come on, let's get you out of there." We helped him out of the bathroom and downstairs onto the couch. Donnie gave him a check up.
"So we've been here for 3 months? I've been out that long?" He asked.
"You had us worried sick Leo. Raph and (Y/n) barely slept." April said.
"Ah, it was nothin'." I said, waving it off.
"So like, why does he sound different?" Casey asked.
"He sustained damage to his throat, and pretty much everywhere else for that matter." Donnie said. Leo lurched over in pain. "Here take so more of my special mutagen medicine. You'll be better in no time!" Donnie said. He did, but he shuddered in disgust.
"Ack! That's taste like it's...supposed to come out of me, not go into me." Leo said. I sat next to him.
"First thing tomorrow, we're gonna start training again. You and me. I'll have you on your feet in no time bro." I said. He smiled a little. Then he frowned.
"Wait...where's (Y/n)? You said she was here right?" Leo asked.
"She's asleep right now-"
"*Yawn* What was all the yelling about?" I was cut off as she came down the stairs. She rubbed her eyes and Leo stared at her. When she finally spotted him, they both just froze. I backed off. We all said nothing. I think everyone knew to respect that they both probably needed a moment. I saw tears in her eyes. I smiled a little. She ran over to him and latched onto him, burying her tear stained face into the side of his neck. Leo was stunned for a moment, but then he hugged her back just as tightly. I felt warm on the inside. We were all smiling at them. Everyone else seemed to feel the same way. Nobody spoke. I think just seeing them together again....it gave us all hope. It showed us that there was a way to finally see the bright side again. We had Leo back. We had a fighting chance. We were gonna make it. I could feel it. We all could.
I heard (Y/n) mutter something to him, but I didn't catch it. It was just loud enough for him to hear. Whatever it was, it made Leo smile. They let go of each other and she stayed next to him.
"Aww~!" Mikey cooed. They both blushed and I chuckled.
"Come on. We should probably get some rest. All of us." Donnie said. We nodded.
"Where's Leo gonna stay?" Mikey asked. Leo and (Y/n) smiled at each other.
"I think I'll be fine." He said. We all headed to bed and (Y/n) helped Leo to her room. I watched as they walked into her room and closed the door. I smiled. You were right (Y/n). I gotta give you that.
Your POV
Leo sat down on the edge of your bed. He groaned a little in pain. You frowned. You got an idea.
"I have never been this sore in my life." Leo said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"It's alright. You'll loosen up in a few days I bet." You said. You grabbed your PJ's and you blushed insanely as you began to change in front of him. He stared at you.
"U-u-um..(Y-Y/n)?"
"You don't mind, do you?" You asked as you slipped on your night shirt. He blushed, but he smiled.
"You know exactly what to do." He said. You smiled. You walked back over and gave his forehead a kiss.
"Anything to help you feel better." You replied. He looked away as you changed your pants. You laid down next to him and wrapped your arms around his neck. You kissed his nose, then his cheek, and then his lips. He kissed back, his arms slinking around your waist. You both held each other tightly, refusing to let anything ruin the moment. You felt him lick your bottom lip, asking for permission. You gladly granted it and Leo smirked a little, deepening the kiss. You moaned a little into the kiss and he did too. Soon enough you both slowly pulled apart. Leo held you tightly.
"I love you." You smiled. You nuzzled into the crook of his neck.
"I love you too Leonardo." You whispered. You kissed his neck again and again. He smiled, blushing a lot.
"Heh..(Y-Y/n), what are you doing?" He asked. You smirked a little.
"Proving that I love you more than anything." He chuckled.
"T-that..feels nice." He said, relaxing. You smiled. You kept doing it and he sighed happily.
"If I had been awake, I know I would've missed this more than anything." He said. You stopped, frowning. You remembered the long three months without him. How many times you'd woken up from nightmares. All the times you'd cried yourself to sleep. Seeing everyone look so lost and be at each others throats. You started crying. "(Y/n)?" Leo questioned. He heard you snivel. "What's wrong?" He asked. You looked at him tears in your eyes.
"Leo...y-you scared me so bad. I-I thought I was going to lose you t-too. If we did then everything would be up to me and Raph because I had this idea that while you were out I could take over and I was so scared that if we lost you I'd be leader and-"
"Hey, hey, shh...it's okay. I'm not going anywhere. Shh...princess. I'm here. I'm here baby." He said, stroking the back of your head.
"Leo...I missed you so much." You whimpered.
"I know. It's okay. I'm here now okay? You aren't alone. I promise I won't leave you." He said. Then he gasped. You pulled back.
"Leo!?"
"S-sorry it's just....ah...that..hurt." He growled. You frowned.
"Where?" You asked.
"My arm." He replied. You moved your hand and gently rubbed his arm. He relaxed.
"Thanks baby." He said. "I...I'm sorry. I'm just going to be a burden." You looked at his sadden expression. You kissed him and then you pulled back.
"You will never be a burden Leo. Even the strongest people need help. No matter what, I will always be here for you and you will never be a burden. I will do anything and everything to help you Leo." You said. He smiled.
"What did I do to deserve you?" You smiled.
"You didn't have to do anything. I would still have fallen in love with you." You said as you both got closer again.
"Heh, I should be saying that to you." He replied. You both chuckled a little. You gave him a sweet kiss. He kissed back. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed like so much longer to you both.
"I love you Leonardo. I promise that you'll get better." He smiled.
"I love you too and...we can only hope."
