Chapter 14: one more night for Lukanette

In the bedroom, it's close to bedtime and Marinette does one last checklist to make sure she got everything for her trip to Shanghai.

Marinette: Okay. So, clothes, check. Sketchbook, check. Picture of Neinei, check. Shoes, check. Socks, check. Hair care stuff, check. Bar of soap, clean towel, and washcloth, check. Think I got everything.

Tikki: But Marinette, what about fighting a villain? Since you'll be in Shanghai, who's gonna take your place as Ladybug when you're gone?

Marinette: Guess I can still be Ladybug, or I can ask Luka to ask a trusted Allie to take my place until I get back.

Tikki: Hopefully you won't be gone too long.

Marinette: Hope not.

In Luka's room, Luka plays his guitar and Plagg looks at him.

Plagg: You're gonna miss her?

Luka: Course I'm gonna miss her. She's gonna be leaving tomorrow.

Plagg: You know, this might be a good chance to see her one last time.

Luka: I'll see her tomorrow.

Plagg: No, no, no! Visit her as Black Panther. That's something Cat Noir would always do.

Luka: Not sure if I can do that.

Plagg: Hey, it's the first time for everything.

Luka: You're right. But first, I have to tell my mom about this. Be right back. *He leaves his room and head to the front of the ship; he sees his mom making a cup of tea before bed. * Mom, I'm gonna get some air. After that, I go to bed.

Anarka: Okay. You can stay out for 15 minutes, but not too late.

Luka: Okay. *He heads up to the deck and Plagg leave the bedroom and head outside. * Time to visit Marinette. Plagg, claws out! *He transforms into Black Panther and leaps into action and heads to Marinette's balcony. *

In Marinette's bedroom, Marinette brushes her teeth and rinses them too. Soon, she heard a knocking on the balcony window.

Marinette: Who is that? *She put her toothbrush down and goes to her balcony window and opens it, she sees Black Panther. * Luka? What are you doing here?

Black Panther: I decided to see you since you won't be here tomorrow.

Marinette: That's nice of you to do that. But come in, before someone sees you.

Black Panther: Right. *He gets in and Marinette closes the balcony window. * Claws in! *He de-transform and Plagg hovers next to him. *

Plagg: Hey, Marinette.

Marinette: Hi Plagg. Does your mom know you're here?

Luka: Nope. I just told her I'm taking a breather. I shouldn't be staying too long, or she'll get the idea.

Marinette: Okay. Well, there's something I need you to do. *She takes her earrings off and lends them to him. * Since I won't be here tomorrow as Ladybug, I need you to find a temporary Ladybug to fight in my battle with you until I get back. Think you can do that?

Luka: I'll see what I can do. *He holds on to the earrings and put them in his pocket. * Better get going. Hope you have fun in Shanghai.

Marinette: I will. *He kisses her on the lips, opens the balcony window, and leaps away, he transforms and leaps back home. * Better get some rest. Got an early train ride to Shanghai. *She goes into the drawer and gets her pajamas and changes into them. *

Meanwhile, Black Panther land on the deck and de-transform, Plagg goes into his jacket pocket and Luka heads downstairs in the boat.

Anarka: Ahh, you're back. That didn't take too long, did it?

Luka: No. Just needed some air before bed.

Anarka: Alright. Well, good night.

Luka: Night. *He goes to his room and Anarka goes to her cabin too. *
