Two weeks had gone by and it was Hogsmeade day, Hermione and Charlotte got ready and Lottie was glad to be in normal clothes for a day or so.
Once the girls were done, they met up with the boys and had a quick breakfast. Charlotte frowned as Harry had told them that he didn't have his slip signed. Ron suggested him to ask McGonagall if she can sign it. But Lottie knew that wouldn't work.
As the quartet were walking to the other students who were handing in their slips, Minnie was shouting to the other students.
"Remember! These visits to Hogsmeade Village are a privilege. Should your behaviour reflect poorly on the school in any way, that privilege shall not be extended again!"
Ron pushed Harry towards Minnie and they watched as before Harry could utter a syllable, Minnie stated.
"No permission form, no visiting the village. That's the rule, Potter."
Harry replied.
"Yes, Professor. But I thought if you said I could go-"
Minnie cut him off.
"But I don't say so. A parent or guardian must sign, and since I am neither, it would be inappropriate."
Charlotte saw a look of pity on her face as she continued.
"I'm sorry, Potter. But that's my final word."
Harry's shoulders sagged and he walked back to his friends with an upset look on his face. Charlotte had decided that she would stay back with him, so she hid her permission slip in the back pocket of her jeans and announced.
"I can't find my permission slip, so I guess that means I can't go either."
Ron frowned and Hermione smirked, Charlotte knew Mione saw her put the slip in her pocket, but didn't say anything. Charlotte looked out of the corner of her eye to see Harry's face light up, she smiled lightly and watched as the two walked off with the other students.
Harry and Charlotte waved to them and they both sighed in unison, making them turn to each other and began laughing. Charlotte linked her arm with his and they wandered around Hogwarts grounds.
They spotted Remus on the bridge, so they walked towards him. He smiled as he saw the two and got flashbacks of Lily and James again. He shook off the thought and asked.
"So, no Hogsmeade then?"
Harry and Charlotte nodded their heads and he continued.
"Well, don't feel too bad. I was roundly disappointed the first time I went."
Harry and Charlotte asked in unison.
"Really?"
Remus smiled and shook his head, he then responded.
"No, I was just trying to make you feel better. Honeydukes' sweets are the best in the world, their Pepper Imps are so strong you smoke at the ears. And Zonko's Joke Shop may be dangerous, but you can't beat their Stink Pellets."
Charlotte looked at him in shock.
Wow, that made me feel sooo much better. Not.
Harry stated glumly.
"Not to mention the Shrieking Shack, which, according to Hermione, is the most severely haunted building in Britain."
Remus hesitated slightly and then replied.
"Yeah, that too."
Lottie just stood there in silence as Harry asked.
"Professor, can I ask you a question?"
Remus replied.
"You'd like to know why I stopped you from facing the Boggart?"
Harry's eyes widened in surprise, and Remus let out a laugh because of Harry's face and continued.
"I should think it'd be obvious, I assumed the Boggart would take the shape of Lord Voldemort."
Harry frowned and Remus sighed and stated.
"But, clearly I was wrong."
Harry responded.
"I did think of Voldemort first. But then, I remembered that night on the train... and the Dementor."
Remus patted him on the shoulder and replied.
"Well, well, I'm impressed. That suggests that what you fear most of all is... fear. Very wise."
Harry sighed and stated.
"Before I fainted, I heard a woman scream."
Remus replied.
"Dementors force us to relive the worst memories of our lives, our pain becomes their power."
What Harry said next made Charlotte sad.
"I think it was my mother, the night she was murdered."
Charlotte rubbed his arm and saw that Remus had paled a little, he cleared his throat and announced.
"The first time I saw you, Harry, I recognized you immediately. Not by your scar, by your eyes. They're your mother Lily's."
A small smile made its way on Harry's face and Lottie listened as Remus continued.
"Yes, I knew her. She was there for me at a time when no one else was, we used to talk for hours. She was not only a singularly gifted witch, but an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty in whoever she met, even and perhaps most especially when that person couldn't see it in themselves..."
His eyes glazed over and he sighed before shaking his head, he carried on.
"Which perhaps explains her affection for your father, James had, shall we say, a certain talent for trouble. A gift, rumor has it, he passed on to you."
Both the boys smiled and Charlotte chuckled, Remus then laughs softly and continued.
"I could tell you stories and there are many about your parents, Harry. But know this, they lived, every moment of every day, you should know that. That's how they'd want to be remembered."
Charlotte smiled softly at Harry and wiped under his eye as a tear fell down it, she also saw Remus looking at them with a massive smile on his face. Harry looked into Lottie's eyes, but then snapped out of it when Remus announced.
"You both remind me of Lily and James, they loved each other dearly and I know that they'd be watching you with proud faces."
Charlotte blushed lightly and so did Harry, Remus chuckled and left as he had to go do some work. Harry and Charlotte walked off the bridge and entered the castle to go back to their common room.
Harry's hand suddenly slipped into hers and he intertwined them, she looked at their hands and then to Harry. He smiled at Charlotte and muttered softly.
"Thank you for being there for me."
Charlotte smiled back and replied.
"Always."
Harry smiled brightly and they sat on one of the sofas waiting for Hermione and Ron. And when they arrived, they dropped a bunch of sweets on their laps and excitedly explained about their trip.
