It was a new day and it was cold and snowy, Hermione decided that they needed to go into Hogsmeade. And as they were walking through the snow, Harry spoke up after Hermione told them her idea.

"This is mad, who'd wanna be taught by me? I'm a nutter, remember?"

Ron stated, trying to reassure him.

"Look on the bright side, you can't be any worse than old toad face."

Harry gave him a look and replied sarcastically.

"Thanks, Ron."

But Ron being the clueless idiot he is, didn't sense the sarcasm. He responded.

"I'm here for you, mate."

Charlotte asked in wonder.

"Who is supposed to be meeting us, then?"

Hermione replied.

"Just a couple of people."

They opened the door to an old rusty shack and Ron stated sarcastically.

"Lovely spot."

Charlotte snickered as a goat squeaked and waddled off, making the guy go after it. Hermione stated as they stared in slight disgust at how dirty it was.

"I thought it would be safer off the beaten track."

The next thing made Lottie snort into her hand in amusement, the guy with the goat exclaimed.

"Come here, matey."

The goat baahed and ran away, the four sat down at the front and waited for the people Hermione had invited to arrive. However, when she said "a couple of people", there was definitely more than a couple.

Everyone sat down and looked at the quartet as there was an awkward silence. Hermione finally cleared it when she stood up and awkwardly greeted.

"Um, hi. So, you all know why we're here. We need a teacher, a proper teacher. One that has had experience defeating themselves against the Dark Arts."

A guy named Zacharias Smith asked.

"Why?"

This made Charlotte scoff and Ron answered his question.

"Because You-Know-Who's back, you tosspot."

Smith retorted.

"So he says."

Hermione immediately corrected him.

"So Dumbledore says."

Michael Corner then defended.

"So Dumbledore says because he says. The point is, where's the proof? If Potter could tell us more about how Diggory got killed.."

Charlotte's hands gripped the table and she didn't notice that her fingers went white from how hard she was gripping it. Lottie went to stand up to defend Harry, but Ron held her down. Harry stood up to speak.

"I'm not gonna talk about Cedric. So if that's why you're here, you might as well clear out now."

He then turned to Hermione and muttered.

"Come on, Hermione. Let's go, they're only here because they think I'm some sort of freak."

Luna asked in that dreamy voice of hers.

"Is it true that you can produce a Patronus Charm?"

Everyone looked at Luna and then to Harry for answers, he nodded and Hermione and Charlotte piped up.

"Yes, I've seen it."

Hermione and Lottie looked at each other and smiled lightly, Dean then spoke up in admiration.

"Blimey, Harry. I didn't know you could do that."

Neville added after Dean.

"A-And he killed a Basilisk, with the sword in Dumbledore's office and saved Lottie.

Ginny let out a "it's true" and Ron joined in.

"In third year, he fought off about a hundred Dementors at once."

Hermione continued off.

"Last year, he really did fight off You-Know-Who in the flesh-"

Harry cut her off.

"Wait, look. It all sounds great when you say it like that. But the truth is, most of that was just luck. I didn't know what I was doing half the time and I nearly always had help."

He glanced at Ron, Hermione and Charlotte and went to continue, but Hermione inputted.

"He's just being modest."

Harry sighed heavily and replied.

"No, Hermione. I'm not! Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. In school, if you make a mistake, you can just try again tomorrow. But, out there.. when you're a second away from being murdered.. or watching a friend did right before your eyes, you don't know what that's like."

Charlotte looked at him in awe, she then looked down and fiddled with her fingers and thought deeply. She finally let out a sigh and stood up, announcing.

"You're right, Harry. We don't, which is why we need your help. Because if we're going to have any chances at beating Voldemort.."

She trailed off and ignored Harry's shocked look as he had just heard her say his name properly. Nigel, a boy in second year uttered.

"He's really back?"

Charlotte looked at him and solemly nodded. Eventually, everyone had agreed and they wrote their name down on a piece of parchment. Harry had this idea to name it "Dumbledore's Army" and it stuck. They still, however, need a place, but they'll figure that out later.

Everyone soon left the shack. Fred, George, Ginny, Ron, Neville, Hermione, Harry and Charlotte were walking on a bridge on their way back to Hogwarts. Charlotte's arm was linked with Neville's and Harry spoke as they walked.

"Right. First, we need to find a place to practice where Umbridge won't find out."

Ginny asked.

"The Shrieking Shack?"

Harry shook his head and replied.

"Too small."

Hermione then asked.

"The Forbidden Forest?"

They looked at her like she had three heads and Ron responded.

"Not bloody likely."

Charlotte then asked.

"Harry, what if Umbitch does find out?"

Hermione turned to her and stated excitedly.

"Who cares? I mean, it's sort of exciting, isn't it. Breaking the rules?"

Ron and Lottie looked at her like she was mad and retorted in unison.

"Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?"

Hermione let out a laugh and continued with a smirk.

"Anyway, at least we know one positive thing that came from today?"

Harry asked.

"And what's that?"

Hermione answered as she just wanted to see the reaction on their faces.

"Cho couldn't take her eyes off you, could she?"

She smiled and walked faster. Charlotte scowled, but smirked when Harry mumbled to himself.

"No thank you."

She shook her head playfully and linked arms with Hermione, they then began to skip towards the castle, careful not to slip on the ice.

Not realising that a certain pink toad was above them, listening in as Harry explained more.
