The morning came and it was lesson time with the pink toad, Charlotte sat next to Hermione and they stared at the paper bird that flew around the room. That was until Umbitch decided to ruin the fun and disintegrate it. Everyone sighed and turned to look at her as she greeted.

"Good morning, children."

She began to walk the aisle between the rows of two tables and used her wand to write on the blackboard. She spoke whilst doing so.

"Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. O.W.L, more commonly known as OWL's. Study hard and you will be rewarded, fail to do so and the consequences may be severe."

She then pointed her wand at a stack of books and they started to hover and move. At every table, a book slid onto the desk. Once one was on Charlotte's, she looked down at it, it read. Dark Arts Defence: Basics for Beginners. Lottie scoffed at what it had said and Umbitch kept talking.

"Your previous subject has been disturbingly uneven, but you'll be pleased to know that from now on, you will be following a carefully structured, Ministry approved course of defensive magic-"

Hermione's hand went up and it made Umbitch call on her, Hermione then put her hand down and stated.

"There's nothing in here about using defensive spells."

Umbitch scoffed and responded in a high voice.

"Using spells? Well, I can't imagine why you would need to use spells in my classroom."

Charlotte shared a look with Hermione and Ron and Lottie asked in unison.

"We're not gonna use magic?"

Umbitch looked at them both and replied.

"You will be learning about defensive spells in secure risk-free way."

Harry butted in.

"Well, what use is that if we're gonna be attacked it won't be risk-free-"

Umbitch turned her back to them and ordered.

"Students will raise their hands when they speak in my class."

She turned back to the class and continued.

"It is the view of the Ministry that a theoretical knowledge would be sufficient to get you through your examinations, which after all is what school is all about-"

Harry interrupted her again.

"And how are theories suppose to prepare us for what is out there."

Umbitch responded in a sickly sweet tone.

"There is nothing out there, dear. Who'd you imagine would want to attack children like yourself."

Charlotte sucked in a breath as she knew what Harry is going to say, he replied sarcastically.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe Lord Voldemort?"

The class winced and Charlotte exhaled a shaky breath, murmurs from students were heard and Lottie hated how this lesson had turned out. Umbitch smiled and stated calmly as she walked down the tables.

"Now, let me make this quite plain. You have been told that a certain dark wizard is at large, once again. This is a lie."

Harry exclaimed in anger.

"It's not a lie! I saw him, I fought him!-"

Umbitch announced.

"Detention, Mr Potter!-"

What Harry said next made Charlotte want to cry.

"So according to you, Cedric Diggory dropped dead of his own accord?"

Lottie felt stares at the back of her head as she inhaled sharply, Umbitch replied.

"Cedric Diggory's death was a tragic accident-"

Lottie scoffed and mumbled out.

"Just like your birth then."

Umbitch looked at Charlotte and frowned, she then enounced.

"Detention, Miss Weasley."

Charlotte looked up and replied monotonously as she has a stoic face.

"No thank you."

Umbitch and a few other students gasped and before Umbitch could snap at her, Harry exclaimed in anger.

"It was murder! Voldemort killed him and you must know that.-"

Umbitch suddenly shouted.

"ENOUGH!"

She then took a breath and continued calmly.

"Enough, see me later, Mr Potter. My office."

She then let out a giggle which made Charlotte want to rip out her vocal chords. She went on with the lesson and the whole time, Lottie had to stop herself from launching at her and beating her to a pulp.

The lesson soon ended and Charlotte was out of the door before the bell even went off, the five of them went to the common room and relaxed on the sofa's. There was an uncomfortable silence before Hermione declared.

"How can Dumbledore let that horrible woman teach?! And when we're taking our OWL's soon!"

Charlotte nodded along with her, agreeing. Ron then asked.

"You reckon she's here to spy on us?"

Lottie responded.

"Well, I don't think us specifically. But definitely Dumbledore and the Order."

Her friends looked at her and hummed in a response, Harry was about to express his thoughts when Angelina came up to them and angrily exclaimed at Harry.

"Way to go, Potter! Your detention is at the same time as Quidditch Practice!"

Harry awkwardly shifted and replied.

"Oh, sorry."

Angelina heavily sighed.

"Yeah, well, you're going to have to get out of it somehow. We're holding tryouts for a Keeper now that Wood has gone, and I wanted to have the whole team there."

Harry replied in frustration.

"I'll never get out of it, Angelina!"

Angelina ran her hand through her hair and snapped.

"Well, just don't do it again!"

Harry nodded and she stormed off, there was a silence that lasted like 30 minutes. That was until Ron asked Harry.

"Well, Harry. Shall we start on Snape's report?"

Charlotte furrowed her eyebrows at Ron in disbelief. When has Ron asked to do homework? She stood up and placed her hand on his forehead, she then hummed and went back to her seat. Ron looked at his twin in confusion, but didn't say anything. Harry finally answered.

"Later, I've got detention."

Ron nodded and Hermione let out a "good luck", whilst Charlotte just fiddled either her fingers. Harry nodded and left the common room, feeling sad that Charlotte is hurting.
