Lance x reader - The celestial star part 2

"I missed you so much" Nyma cried. You didn't want to admit that she was never on your mind and hugged her back. The reason why you left was because of her. "Come on! I want to introduce you to the Paladins" Nyma grabbed you by the hand and dragged you to a group of humans. "(y/n), these are the Paladins, from left to right this is Hunk, Keith, Lance, Pidge and Shiro and these two are Coran and Allura" Nyma said.

"Hello (y/n), Nyma has told a lot about you" Allura smiled.

"Yes, we heard that you have become one of the greatest captains within the Hunting Cartel within less than a year," Coran said.

"I think she's exaggerating a bit, but I don't mind the compliments" You smirked.

"So... This is Nyma's sister hey? I can't tell which one is prettier" Lance grinned. You frowned and side kicked him in the face. 

"Clane don't you dare get any ideas!" You shouted. Clane scoffed and stared down at Lance.

"Do you really think I'm that bad?" Clane asked.

"Sometimes I do, but you know better than that," You said. Hekti and Spanner chuckled to themselves while Kuhn walked down and got into a conversation with the rest of the Paladins.

"So this is your crew?" Nyma asked.

"Yep, that's Hekti, Spanner, Kuhn, Clane and Roshi is still on the ship getting ready" You answered.

"Is he the kind of person that likes to be prepared?" Nyma asked.

"You could say that" You answered.

"Come on! I want to show you the castle!" Nyma tugged on your arms and gave you a tour of the entire castle. The ship was enormous. The bridge, the galley, the living quarters and there was even a ballroom, swimming pool and a training deck.

"They don't call this place the Castle of Lions for nothing," You said.

"Yep," Nyma replied.

"Does that mean that the Lions are also here?" You asked.

"Yeah, but you need to be a Paladin to get to them" Nyma answered.

"Yeah, I bet," You said. "I mean, you must know a lot about it if you went out to try to steal them."

"I left that life behind me," Nyma said.

"Yeah, I'm sure you did. How are you able to pay for things back at home? Are you able to stay away from the authorities?" You questioned. Nyma's face saddened.

"Rolo is dead," Nyma said.

"And guessing it's because you weren't able to keep up with the authorities or the debt," You said. Nyma gripped your hand and stared at the ground. "Who's fault is it that Rolo is now dead?" You ripped your hand away from Nyma and marched back to the ship. Roshi wasn't around so you had the place to yourself. You marched back into your quarters and screamed. Your knees gave away and tears streamed down your face. Rolo.

...

"What was that?" Pidge gasped.

"That was (y/n)" Spanner said. "Who was with her?" Spanner demanded.

"I think Nyma was with her" Allura answered. Spanner got up from her seat in the living room and rushed toward the door. Lance got up and ran behind her.

"I don't think Lance should have run along with Spanner (y/n) is a hard person to understand and reach to, so far, Spanner has been the only person who has been able to get close to her" Hekti said.

"Is she that detached?" Shiro asked.

"No, she's really close to us. But she never talks about her past or why she joined our crew" Hekti answered.

"How did she join you guys?" Keith asked.

"The captain found her on the streets taking care of some slugs that were pestering a mother and kid. She was able to quickly apprehend them and give them over to the authorities. The Galran weren't too happy to see someone doing their dirty work and started to chase her away, but she stuck around to do her work. She started taking on simple jobs and asked for nothing, but food and water. The captain found potential in her and so did I. After a few months of watching her, the captain took it upon himself to invite her to join our little merry band. Since then, she's been a part of our family" Hekti answered.

"You keep referring to this guy called captain," Shiro said.

"He was our previous captain until around three months ago, since then, (y/n) has been leading us" Hekti replied.

"What happened?" Keith asked.

"We ran into a rival gang and the captain took a hit and tried to save us so we could run. We've  been hunting them ever since" Hekti answered.

"How as (y/n) been able to cope with leadership since then?" Allura asked.

"(y/n) is one of the best leaders our ship has had" Kuhn answered," I've been with this crew since the beginning and I haven't seen anyone else grow so fast."

"Yeah, and let's not forget that she is the best cook, engineer and friend that this ship has ever had" Clane added

"It seems you admire her quite a lot" Allura smiled.

"Yeah, we do" Hekti replied.

...

"(y/n)! Are you all right?" Spanner rushed into the room. You sat on your bed looking at the ceiling.

"I am never going to talk to her again"  You sobbed.

"What happened?" Spanner asked.

"Nyma killed Rolo" You answered.

"What?" Spanner gasped.

"That's not true," Lance said. He stepped inside the room and looked at you intently.

"What the heck do you think you're doing in here without permission, do you know that we can kill you right now?" Spanner barked.

"Look I know it's not what you want to hear, but Nyma didn't kill Rolo. He made his choice to sacrifice his life for Nyma" Lance said.

"Get out, now!" You demanded. Lance left without a word but glanced on his way out.

"That guy is even worse than Clane" Spanner huffed. "It's almost like those two are twins."

"We're leaving," You said.

"Now?" Spanner exclaimed. "But what about the rest of the crew?" Spanner asked. You glared a the end of the bed.

"Fine, we'll give them a day then we're leaving," You said. Spanner frowned and sat next to your bed and gave you a hug. You leant against her shoulder. If Nyma wasn't going to be the sister you needed then you had the next best thing. Spanner was the best friend that you could have asked for and Nyma was nowhere near that. Despite that bond you had with her, it meant nothing to you now. Nyma killed Rolo regardless of what people say.
