Keith x reader - Infected part 2 (Alternative ending)

Weeks went by and nothing changed. Your arm was cracked and glowed an eerie shade of purple. This horrified the Paladins, but Allura and Coran were the ones who were worried the most. They were familiar with the virus. A pandemic apparently spread across Altea once slicing the population in half. It was like the human black death, only at a much bigger scale. Humans weren't capable of tackling such a disease and only a few knew how to cure such a sickness.

"Paladins!" Allura shouted over the speakers, "Report to the bridge!" Allura ordered. Everyone rushed to the bridge, fully suited up and ready. "As you know, Coran and I have been searching for a known cure...But the only thing we've found that is accessible at this stage is something toxic to humans" Allura said gravely. Everyone looked at each other sadly. Keith was especially shaken by the news.

"But there is a small degree of good news" Coran piped up. "Though it is poisonous if we administer a small drop of Altean medicine it should boost her immune system to tackle the poison while it's working against the virus" Coran explained. 

"Won't that shake her immune system? I mean (y/n)'s been tackling this thing for weeks! We don't know how much longer she can hold up" Shiro replied.

"I know it's risky, but at this stage, this is the only cure we have for (y/n)" Coran answered, "Look, Shiro if we don't do anything now it might be too late when we find another way to bring (y/n) back."

Shiro narrowed his eyes and turned to Keith and the others. "Are we agreed to this?" Shiro asked.

"If this means reviving (y/n) then I'm definitely on board" Keith answered first.

"Keith? Are you sure? This could kill (y/n)" Shiro said.

"I'd prefer doing this knowing the costs rather than sitting around waiting for her to die!" Keith replied harshly.

"I'm with Keith on this one" Lance piped up.

"Thanks, Lance" Keith commented.

"Hey thank me when (y/n)'s better bro" Lance replied.

"I agree too," Pidge said.

"Me too" Hunk agreed, taking a step forward.

Shiro looked at the group and looked at Keith especially. "All then, let's do it."

...

Two needles. One with luminescent blue and the other with a dark gray colour. Coran injected the blue one first before administering the cure. He waited a few minutes before injected the next serum. Keith watched as both needles entered your body. He rested his elbows on his knees and covered his mouth with his hands. "Please get better" Keith whispered.

...Hours later...

Your eyes moved first. Slowly and wearily your eyes opened. The first thing that met your gaze was the familiar glow of the castle lights. It shined on you like a sign of welcome. "Welcome back from the dead" It seemed to say.

"(y/n)?" A blurry voice asked. You slowly moved your head to where you thought you heard the voice. Keith. "(y/n)! You're awake!" Keith said excitedly. Keith ran over to you and pulled you into a hug. He squeezed you lovingly. He finally had you back. After all those weeks of wondering if you were going to die in the next second.

"Keith" you whispered hoarsely. Keith didn't listen and pulled you into a kiss. 'Okay' You thought. 'I'll be quiet.'
