Keith x reader - Who are you? Part 2

You know the feeling you get when you want to apologise for something when you feel like it wasn't really your fault? Yeah... I totally understand

A few days since your little tension between Keith you stayed away from him, even after your breakthrough. That event stirred some anger and it boiled every time you thought about how you unnecessarily lashed out your anger. 

Your first step was to apologise to Lance for shouting at him. It wasn't easy. You naturally didn't like having to say sorry to that smug guy, but it had to be done anyway. 

"Hey, Lance?" You asked, knocking on his door.

"Yeah?" Lance casually replied.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" You asked, waiting for his reply.

"Sure," Lance replied. You heard a few casual steps in the room that slowly grew louder as it drew closer to the door. "Come on in," Lance said, gesturing into the room like a gentleman.

"Uh okay," You replied, walking into the room.

"So what'd ya want to talk about?" Lance asked, adding his larky smirk. 

"I just want to say sorry about the event a few days ago," I said, getting right to the point.

"Ah, it's nothin" Lance smiled, waving the matter off.

"Are you sure?" I asked, surprised at his reaction.

"Yeah, I mean pfft I know I'm annoying and for someone like you, I'm a constant pain in the neck" Lance replied.

"Shiro talked with you didn't he?" I smirked, folding my arms.

"Yeah, there might have been a small conversation between us" Lance grinned. You smiled in reply and nodded.

"Okay, I'll get going now," You said, excusing yourself.

"Okay! See you around (y/n)" Lance replied, closing the door behind you.

You breathed a sigh of relief, glad to have the matter off your chest. Now, your final obstacle was Keith. In your mind, you wanted to apologise, but really, there was nothing to be sorry about. You just didn't want Keith to think you were a hot-headed girl that had anger issues.

...

You walked over to the training deck knowing that of all the places Keith would be it would be the training deck. You stepped onto the deck expecting a level 3 guardian sparring with Keith. But when you arrived you saw Pidge and Shiro training together. Shiro was gently showing Pidge how to do a proper takedown. 

You smiled and leant against the wall, watching two spar with one another. Shiro didn't have any siblings so Pidge automatically became Shiro's little sister.

"Ahem," You confidently coughed, interrupting the session. Pidge and Shiro immediately stopped training and turned to look at you.

"Hi (y/n)!" Pidge smiled.

"Hey Pidge," You replied, "Do you know where Keith is?" "

Uh... No" Shiro answered.

"Pidge?" You asked, turning your head towards her.

"Sorry (y/n), I haven't seen Keith in a while" Pidge answered.

"Oh ok," You replied, smiling before walking out.

One last place to look, his room. You walked down the halls thinking about what you were going to do and say once you got there. Did you want to apologise quickly like you did with Lance or did you want to say something before that? Before you could answer that question you reached Keith's open door. You took a quick deep breath knocked on the frame of his door.

"Hm?" Was the first thing Keith said to you.

You looked towards Keith from the doorway. Keith was examining his dagger before putting it away to turn his attention to you.

"What is it?" Keith asked, standing up. "

I just... Wanted to apologise for the other day" You answered, unable to think of anything else to say.

"Oh... Well, I think I have something to apologise as well" Keith nervously smiled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"For what?" You asked.

"You didn't do anything wrong," You said.

"Yeah, but I lashed out at you" Keith answered.

"Oh! Well, I guess then we're both apologising for the same thing" You timidly smiled.

"Right," Keith stammered. You two stood in silence, neither of you knowing what to say.

"So... Um... We're still friends right?" You skittishly asked, extending your hand out.

"Who said that we weren't friends anymore?" Keith smirked, raising his brow.

"Uh!" You stammered. "I'm just messing with you (y/n)" Keith laughed, shaking your hand.

"Heh," You clumsily laughed.

I am sorry if this didn't meet your expectations. I found this slightly challenging because I didn't plan any cliffhangers or extensions for the first part. But hopefully, this brought some degree of satisfaction... If not then please tell me what I could improve on so that I can help you bring better pieces of writing.

Also, sorry for not writing as often as I did. I've been concentrating on schooling a lot this week and assignments due dates are starting to creep closer than I am comfortable with. So updates will be slow... :'(
