**Important note! I will be switching in between first and second person so that we can get inside your thoughts while at the same time maintaining a cinematic feel to the one-shot. I hope you all enjoy!**
(e/b) = Ethnic background
Dear diary,
So... it happened again. It was the same guys with the same taunts. I just don't know how to describe the exhausted and tired feeling I have heard the same things over and over again. I just don't know why they do it. Is it because I don't look the way they want to me? Or because I act in a really weird manner? I never do anything wrong! What on earth am I getting bullied for? I never know what they want or why they started to pick on me in the first place.
I only get eyes staring down at me, sneers and whispers. I sometimes even start to get hit every now and then. I never hear how they taunt me and I think it's on purpose.
I don't know what to do with these guys. I just hope that they get a taste of their own crap. That will be an awesome and satisfying day.
So long, (y/n)!
I rolled over on my back and looked at the ceiling of my room. There was literally nothing else to do for me. I finished my homework, ate dinner, had a shower and brushed my teeth. I was supposed to sleep, but I couldn't. I didn't know why they wanted to treat me like crap. I sighed and kept rolling over in bed, reading and checking my phone until I somehow fell asleep.
...
"(y/n)!" My mother shouted. I gasped, falling off of my bed. I grunted and scrambled up on my feet. "It's almost 8! What are you still doing in bed?!" She gasped. She stood in the doorway and walked over to me. I grabbed her outreached hand and pulled myself up. "I thought that you were already on your way to school."
I hurried around my room and threw on anything that I found. Mum rushed downstairs and readied my bag as I finished brushing my hair and dressing before running out the door. The bus was a horrible ten-minute wait in suspense. School starts in twenty-minutes and the bus ride takes ten minutes and it takes around fifteen for me to walk from the bus station to school. Maybe if I run, I will be able to make it there on time.
"Westminster," the bus driver called out. My feet sprung across the floor and exited the bus. The bell rang as I passed through the school gates. I released a heavy sigh and walked the rest of the way.
"Oh hey, it's her,"
I growled and ignored them.
"What are you doing ignoring us? Aren't you supposed to pay a fine for doing that?" One of them sniggered. I rolled my eyes and focused on the third classroom on the left.
"Come on (y/n), we know that you're a good kid. Pay up and we won't bother you again. You know what happens when things don't go the way that we want." You could feel his warm breath teasing your neck. It was infuriating and uncomfortable, especially in front of everyone else.
I turned around and slapped him in the face without a second thought. "Cut it out, Lance" I snarled. Lance let out a laugh and folded his arms.
"Maybe, I don't know. I like being this close to you" Lance said.
"Good, it gives me a better chance to knock your teeth out" I replied. His two friends remarked at my saying. I shook my head and walked toward the classroom while Lance was being teased by his two mates.
Lance, Lance, Lance. It's always Lance and then the rest of the school that follows. I can understand why Lance is constantly bothering me. He enjoys making me uncomfortable. The others like Naomi, Richard and Liam were still a mystery. Naomi attacked my body posture, clothes and some phrases I use, Richard pesters me about my ethnic background and Liam just enjoys making my life completely miserable. What do these people want from me?
...
"Look at this pretty necklace you have here" Lance smirked. You turned around and glared at Lance, batting his hand away from your neck.
"Back off" You warned.
"Why?" Lance smirked.
"Because it's special to me," You said. "A jerk like you won't be able to understand the meaning of that word."
"Special?" Lance questioned.
"Exactly, people have been treating me like crap this whole year and I'm not going let some lanky kid get the better of me. You better stay away from me" You said. Lance lifted the corner of his lip and looked at you.
"Okay then" he shrugged.
Out of nowhere, a hand reached out and roughly tugged the necklace off of your neck. Richard had come from behind and snatched the necklace off of you. You gasped at the absence of your necklace and turned around to see Richard with your necklace in hand.
"Give that back!" You demanded. You reached out, but Richard stepped away and held it behind his back,
"You're going to have to earn it" Richard sneered. "(e/b)s are just useless. I bet you can't even get this necklace off of me" Richard taunted.
"Take that back!" You growled.
"Can't take back something you've said already" Richard laughed. You clenched your teeth and desperately tried to get your necklace back. You hated having to play his game of cat and mouse. But this necklace meant the world to you and you needed it back right now.
Richard finally had enough and tripped you on the floor. You balled your fist and sighed, shutting your eyes closed. Your throat was starting to hurt and you wanted to hide right now. "Aw, is the little baby girl crying on the floor?" Richard taunted.
"You just crossed the line!" You shouted. You leant back in your hands in a crab position and launched your leg up to his groin. He grunted and fell on his knees. You quickly got up on your feet and boxed him across the face. "I'm taking what belongs to me," You said, snatching the necklace off of his hand.
A crowd had formed around the two of you and when the fight was over, the students dispersed. You disappeared into the sea of students and held your necklace close to your chest. "I'm sorry dad, I shouldn't have been so careless" You whispered.
"So it's your dad?" Lance asked. You gasped and swerved on your heels to see Lance, alone. You held your necklace tightly and held it to your chest.
"Mind your own business," You said.
"Was that a birthday present or something?" Lance asked.
"Don't talk about things that you shouldn't know about" You croaked.
"Are you... Crying?" Lance asked.
"Just leave me alone!" You shouted. You backed away and ran.
...
He already tried the front door twice, he knocked on your window and even got your phone number to text sorry. You hated him. You almost lost your necklace to him and now he was stalking you to say sorry. Can't he just take a hint and leave you alone? Hasn't he done enough damage for one day? Can't he and the others just stop? Why does it have to be you? What have you ever done to them?
"(y/n)! Please open the door!" Lance begged.
"Get away from me!" You shouted. "I don't want to see anyone," You said.
"Please, I just want to talk," Lance said.
"You can talk through the door" You replied.
"But... It's not the same" Lance said.
"I don't care. If you're going to talk just say it. I'm already hurt" You whimpered. "Are you happy now?" You hissed. "Are you happy that you've finally got me to crack? I've handled your crappy behaviour to me as well as everyone else's! You've been treating me like dirt this whole year and I don't even know what I've ever done to you! I'm the laughing stock of half of the people in school and it's all because of you. I almost lost my dad today to you and Richard! When are you going to stop!" You screamed.
"I'm sorry!" Lance exclaimed. His voice broke midway. "I'm... So sorry. I didn't want things to happen this way" Lance said quietly. You closed your eyes and leant against the door with your back turned against it. Your legs felt weak and you slowly descended to the floor.
"Why did you even start treating me like this?" You cried.
"I'm going to sound like a complete jerk. I liked you a lot, but I guess I never really knew how to say that. Then when people started to see me treating you badly, everyone else joined in and I was pressured to keep going. I'm sorry (y/n), I never meant for anything like this to happen" Lance answered. He took in a deep breath and let it all out. "You don't have to talk to me and you won't see me again. I've done enough damage to you. But please, can you forgive me?" Lance begged. "You don't have to do anything else, you can treat me the same way I did just please forgive me."
You stood up and opened the door. Lance was tearing and looked at you sorrowfully. "I-I hate you so much for what you've done to me and for letting others treat me worse than you did. I hate you for stealing one of the only things left I have of my dad and turning my life from a good one to absolute hell and I hate you for taking so long to finally realise what it's like to feel like the one being attacked" You said. Lance's face cracked at every single thing you said and at this point, tears were streaming down his face like raindrops on a cabin window.
"But I- I forgive you Lance" your throat burned as you tried to hold back the floodgates of your hurt. "I forgive you for everything you have ever done to me and I will try to forgive you for everything after that," You said.
Lance's raised his face higher to you. His eyes glistened as a spark flew past them. You walked down the steps to Lance and hugged him around his chest. Lance threw his arms around you and held you tightly against him. "Thank you," Lance said.
A wave of relief swept the surface of your broken heart. It was relieving, but painful to let yourself forgive him and to allow him to feel happy after him torturing you, but you also felt free even though it didn't touch your heart. Both of you were going to be all right in the end. That's what forgiveness can do. Hate gives one person some form of satisfaction while it breaks the other. Forgiveness washes both people, the guilty and the innocent. The victim and the abuser. Lance and You.
Guys... This is the last chapter of this book. I am so sad right now because I have earned so much experience from this book and I have met so many people by writing here. I have loved seeing your comments and your reactions throughout this small Voltron journey. There have been many mistakes I have made in this book, but I will not exchange this experience for anything else. Thank you, everyone, for journeying with me and I hope to see you in other books so I can have this same journey I had here. If you want to keep following me, I have another book where I am continuing to release one-shots for VLD. But that is your choice, again, thank you, everyone, for your votes, reads and comments; this is all because of you guys.
Goodbye, I love you all ❤️❤️❤️
