I leant my elbows on my knees and cast my gaze to Shiro. It wasn't this handsome face or defined body that caught my gaze, it was his deep and white scar across his nose. I couldn't stop thinking about how close that scar was to his eyes. Maybe it was meant to blind him and missed. I shuddered at the thought of Shiro, my brother, going blind. Unable to see the world again, unable to see the wonders of the universe and being unable to fight because of the lack of sight.
I let out an audible sigh, my back arching and relaxing in time with my breathing. Shiro flicked his eyes towards me. I met with his gaze. Shiro shifted in his seat at the sudden attention. He averted his gaze from me. The lack of eye contact struck me. Because no matter how long or how many times I tried, Shiro couldn't remember me.
...
"Good morning Shiro" I smiled. Shiro had just walked into the dining hall. Again, he averted his gaze from me and walked past me into the kitchen. I sighed deeply and dropped my head (Into my breakfast). 'He's never going to remember me. Whether it's because he just can't or because he's refusing to' I thought.
I couldn't blame him. Having a girl younger than you, while you were a guy, tell you that you had a little sister and for over a year knowing that you didn't have any siblings must have been ground breaking. All that you thought or that I had known was shattered by a different reality. And what was worse was that no one else could prove it. No photos, no videos, just a simple claim made a girl that looked nothing like Me.
I sat in the room alone. Didn't seem like Shiro was eager to join me in the dining hall. I frowned and left my empty bowl on the table.
Shiro's POV
I couldn't stop thinking about her. At night, she's the last thing I think of. She tries so hard to approach me, but whenever she get's close, I push her away. But she seems so calm about it. She even told me that I never liked her getting too close to me. The only thing that could link her and I was our hair and skin colour. Not that it did any justice. Keith could have been my brother if we were using only that to link our heritage.
Her name was Hannah, but that name didn't ring any bells. I wasn't even sure if I should have remembered anything like that if I lost my memories. I've been getting flashbacks of the year when I was with the Galra, but... I never got any memories from her when I saw her for the first time.
She was looking for me when I found her. She even showed me a locket with a boy and a girl together. She claimed that it was her and I together at our backyard, but I can't even remember owning a house with a backyard in it! She's either crazy or I'm the one that needs help.
Hannah's POV
I stared at my locket. It was the day when Shiro and I got separated. Maybe that's why he never remembered. Your parents had a divorce, Shiro being taken by mum and me being taken by dad. No one claimed the house and both mum and dad agreed to split the selling price and forget about the house where our family was once a happy one.
Dad and I stayed in Tokyo while Shiro moved to the United States where mum lived and worked. I wished that I had gone with Shiro, but we left with a fight. We both argued why mum and dad decided to have a divorce. We blamed each other for the broken marriage and didn't speak for years.
And look what that did to us now, eight years later. Shiro was grown up and I was too, but he couldn't remember me and I was the only one who was carrying the memories of a happy family. I couldn't imagine what life would have been like if this didn't happen at all. A tear shed down from my eyes and fled down to the locket. It drowned Shiro's face.
...
"Any idea if what Hannah is saying is true?" Hunk asked. The group decided to meet in the living room.
"I think they're siblings. You can definitely see some connection in between them both when they talk and act" Pidge stated.
"Yeah, but Shiro can't remember her" Hunk argued.
"I don't know Hunk, she still has that locket," Lance said.
"Yeah I know, but does anyone else know what Shiro looked like back then besides Hannah?" Hunk questioned. Everyone shook their heads. "See that's what I mean, we can't just take the claim of a single person without some witness or some kind of proof"
"Hunk, when exactly did you decide to become an attorney or lawyer?" Keith questioned.
"Keith, don't blame my logical mind to go political sometimes. I have the mind of an engineer. There has to be some kind of problem with a valid reason to explain why something happened. There can't be an answer without a problem and a problem without an answer" Hunk said.
"So if the problem is the situation we're in right now, what's the answer?" Pidge asked.
"That's what we don't know" Allura sighed. Hunk slumped back onto the couch next to Pidge. Coran, who was standing leaning against the wall, watching everyone thoughtfully.
"Maybe there could be a way to trigger Shiro's memory," Coran said. Everyone turned to Coran.
"Shiro has been seen getting flashbacks every time he interacts with Galran ships and so on right?" Coran asked.
"Right" Allura answered.
"Who's to say that taking Shiro back to earth and to his home will trigger his memory of Hannah?" Coran asked.
"That is if Hannah really is his sister" Hunk piped.
"Hunk! Hannah is Shiro's sister. It's been three months since we rescued Hannah and since then I've been monitoring her sentences and actions. She isn't lying. All liars make mistakes, but people who tell the truth don't. She hasn't made a wrong move and the evidence is clear, no one can lie for that long while there are people keeping a close watch on her" Pidge interjected.
"So it's settled, we're taking Shiro and Hannah to Earth" Coran stated.
"But isn't Earth still being patrolled by the Galran empire?" Allura questioned.
"If Shiro goes by his Lion then he should have no problem, there's only one small vessel patrolling the area" Coran answered.
"Still, one ship can house a lot of fighter pilots" Pidge added.
"Yeah, and let's forget that Hannah lived in Tokyo, one of the earth's most populated cities, that don't know about Voltron and are full of paparazzi that will do anything to know about Shiro and his Lion. The authorities will confiscate it and possibly take them into custody for questioning" Hunk said.
"That sure complicates a lot of things" Pidge sighed.
"Yeah, no kidding" Hunk groaned.
"This is exactly why I lived in the desert" Keith chuckled.
"So there's no way to get Shiro and Hannah to Earth?" Lance asked.
"Yeah, there's no way we'll be able to smuggle them in without a security camera or phone taking a snapshot of their faces. Shiro is too well-known to be back on Earth. And let's not forget that you guys left the Garrison, you three will be considered missing" Keith stated.
"Which leaves Keith and Hannah unidentifiable" Allura murmured. "I've got a plan" Allura announced. "Keith, you said that you left the garrison," Allura said.
"Actually I got kicked out, but I'll take that" Keith corrected.
"Maybe we can take Keith back to his home in the desert with Hannah. She could record where she goes with one of our own cameras, made by Pidge, to show Shiro her home" Allura suggested.
"That sounds like a solid plan" Pidge answered.
"Can't see that going wrong," Lance said. "The desert is a big place with not many people around. Keith and Hannah could be dropped off there."
"Yeah, but I left my bike where we found we found Blue" Keith interjected.
"Then we'll drop you off there. Since Blue has been there for around 10,000 years I'm pretty sure Blue knows where that will be" Lance replied.
"But it's been ages since we've been back to Earth. Maybe someone's taken my bike while we were away" Keith said.
"Why would someone take a bike as old as yours in the first place?" Lance questioned.
"Wow, thanks Lance, you just degraded years of work in one question" Keith muttered.
"So it's settled, Lance will drop Keith and Hannah to where you originally found the Blue Lion. From there, Keith and Hannah will make their way to Tokyo and show Shiro the house where they were" Allura smiled.
"I still see one big problem" Hunk said.
"HUNK!" Pidge shouted.
"They won't have any money to buy a ticket to Tokyo!" Hunk protested.
"We'll just figure it out on the way man, let's tell Hannah!" Lance grinned.
...
Hannah's POV
"This is going to work, this is going to work, this is going to work" I whispered.
"Sure this is going to work, this is for you and Shiro. He's our leader and we're going to do anything to help him" Keith smiled. I took a deep breath in and smiled. He was so calm about this. Keith's eyes were so warm and reassuring that it was hard not to be scared.
"Okay," I answered.
"I still don't know why I can't come with you" Lance commented.
"Because you're a missing person that is being searched by the U.S military" Keith answered.
"Oh right, hehe, forgot about that" Lance chuckled. Keith rolled his eyes. I smiled a little. I let my black hair flow down again to my waist. From the wreck I called my luggage, I managed to scrounge something casual enough to blend in. A light pink woollen sweater with grey tank top underneath and jeans with converse shoes should be enough.
"We're here" Lance announced. He descended to the desert floor where a red and white speeder was parked. "Still there" Lance grinned. Keith smirked and pushed Lance's head playfully. "Told you it would be there" Lance chuckled.
"Shut up man" Keith laughed. I smiled at their interaction. It was like that with Shiro and I. Keith and Lance would sometimes be like brothers, other times, it would be like they were after each other's heads.
"Just jump down, it isn't too far to the ground" Lance instructed.
"We'll call you when we need help" Keith replied, jumping down. I gulped at how high the drop looked. "Just jump, I'll catch you," Keith said. I nodded, breathing in deeply. I quickly dropped down. I gasped the sudden drop and was quickly caught by Keith. "Told you I would catch you" Keith smiled.
"Thanks, Keith" I gasped.
"Let's go" Keith smiled, leading to the bike.
"Don't have too much fun!" Lance shouted, flying back to the castle.
