Too tired to open my eyes, too weak to even bother to wonder why I felt bright light shining in my eyes. It could be a flashlight, or it could be a glimpse of the outside world. People talking, who cares. Someone picked me up, a bit weird, but who cares, I just wanted to keep sleeping. I was finally put back down, on to a more comfy surface, savor it while it lasts.

People, footsteps. Going in and out, in and out, in and out. I opened my eyes, I was in this little room, I saw that even though I hadn't been hurt by the parasite in a long time, I had still taken a major beating with all the attacks he couldn't dodge. It hurt to move, but it wasn't like I was even planning on moving for a long time, for there was no point.

Another pair of footsteps, getting closer. It's been who knows how long, every breath I take burns. Every little inhale, exhale, no matter what I did, or how I did it, it wouldn't stop burning. Something warm, a cloth I think. Pain dissipated, I still didn't want to get up, but my body loosened up, as I drifted into an actual, relaxing sleep. Despite the situation, for the first time in a very long while, I felt myself smile. The overall feeling, I felt warm, safe.

I couldn't feel the pain anymore, was I dead? It was too good to be true, and until I wake up from my little dream of comfort and hope, it will stay that way. This won't last long, I'll wake up and return to my world of pain once again...
