Hearing her alarm, Lila groaned as she wakes up and after getting dressed, she discovered that her mother was gone.

Scoffing, she rolled her eyes and muttered, "Typical." Taking out her phone, she saw a voicemail sent from her mother.

Answering it, she puts it on speaker.

Annetta: Hi, darling. Your breakfast is on the table, your lunch is in a bag, and your dinner is in the fridge.

Walking out of her room, Lila saw her breakfast wrapped in plastic.

Rolling her eyes with sheer contempt, Lila grabbed the plate and callously threw it into the trash and took an apple instead.

Seeing her lunch, she grabbed it and walked back into the room, hearing the rest of the message.

I'll be home late tonight again, but I'll do my best to be there this weekend. Pinky promise.

Putting her lunch in her bag, she slings it over her shoulder and looked at her phone as it nears the end.

And just call me if you need anything. Love you to bits, my angel!

The woman then blows a kiss into the phone.

Taking the apple out of her mouth, Lila ends the message and takes her leave.

Narrowing her eyes, she lets out a scoff as she began to diss her mother's message.

"Ugh, yeah right. If you loved me then you wouldn't have sent me to that...wretched school for 3 years."

Walking out of her home, she made sure to lock the door and stomped out, obviously in a sour mood.

And as she neared the school, she had unknowingly walked past Nino, who noticed her sour look.

He runs to her and asks, "Is something wrong, Lila?" Lila looked at him in shock, not expecting for him to be here.

Thinking up a quick lie, she said, "Uh, no, I'm doing great! It's just that... my mom wants me to go with her to this fancy embassy function tonight."

"But I got way too much homework and I'm so behind after being away for the first term. I'm just gonna have to tell her no."
