"You know, I never really considered you to be the jealous type."

Kira snaps her head to Kirishima, but holds her tongue. "Me neither," she says instead.

The nurse was there, absently eavesdropping on their conversation, but not saying much as they analyse Kira's ears. Kira scoops her hair behind her head, letting the nurse do their job.

"You don't seem to require any further treatment," the nurse tells Kira. "Your ears are no longer bleeding and you're saying your hearing has returned to normal?"

"Yes." Kira nods.

"Then all I'll need to do is clean you up, then you can go."

Kira nods again, as Kirishima fiddles on the gurney beside her.

"It's a good thing you didn't get too badly hurt, huh?" Kirishima remarks.

"Yeah, good thing," she scoffs her reply.

It pains Kira to keep the truth from the one she's closest to. After all, she had tried to keep everything a secret, for her father's sake, but that promise has seemed to come crumbling down around her. Her eardrums had shattered, but because of her hidden secondary Quirk, they've miraculously healed themselves, allowing her to hear again. It's a good thing her second Quirk is able to restore things such as sensory issues. Not like she wanted to witness such an injury again.

"Why don't you go?" Kira says, averting her eyes from the floor to Kirishima's eyes. "Come on, I saw you eyeing that chicken earlier."

Kirishima hesitates, looking at the nurse as they fiddle with a few bits and pieces on the other side of the room. "Are you sure?"

"Go!" Kira practically shoves him off the bed, chuckling as he stumbles. "Seriously, you heard the nurse. All good here."

She didn't want him to leave. Not really. When he did leave, the curtain wafting as he ducks between them, she instantly missed the company. The warmth. It was cold without Kirishima. Kira clung onto the gurney, her fingertips digging into the leather, wishing she could spill her guts about everything to well, anyone. Kirishima especially. But, without him ever having to fully express it, she could tell that enough was weighing on his shoulders. She wasn't about to let her own problems pile onto that burden.

She'd deal with it herself. Until she finally crumbled, that is. Hiding secrets, one after the other, is never a healthy way to live. Her father is a prime example of that. He kept his Quirk a secret, all his life it seems and now it's come back to haunt him and now Kira. She didn't want to turn out like her father, hobbled and alone. That was no way to live.

The curtain's rattled again, more violently this time and Kira looked up at the noise. A smile instantly lifted her cheeks at the sound of someone's presence, expecting it to be Kirishima with a plateful of chicken, but it wasn't.

"You're still here?" Bakugou glares at Kira, one hand holding the curtain away.

Kira doesn't even reply, not that she needed to. She was still in the room.

"Tch." Bakugou enters the room, quickly scanning his surroundings.

He then sits on the bed directly opposite Kira. The medical wing is so small that their knees are practically touching - Kira was so shocked at the motion. She assumed Bakugou wouldn't want to come within five feet of her. He probably doesn't care about any of that though.

"Why are you here?" She questions, her tone coming across harsher than she intended.

Bakugou side-eyes her briefly, before turning his attention back to the nurse, who spots Bakugou and makes their way over. "Dislocated my shoulder when that extra turned me into one of his flesh things."
