Chapter 44 - The Truth About Katsuki Bakugou

"What?" She mutters, tears blurring her vision.

"Yeah," he scoffs, nearing closer to Kira. "I told him to kill himself back in middle school. And guess what? He did."

"You did what?" She says, her tone growing angrier and angrier with every passing second.

"I didn't think the idiot would actually do it," Bakugou chuckles darkly. "He was pissing me off."

"So, what?" She grits her teeth. "No Midoriya? Do the teachers know about what you did?"

"No!" Bakugou barks, aiming his hands up at her. "And they're not going to ever know. It would ruin my chances of becoming number one."

"How could you even call yourself a hero in the first place!?" Kira spits, stepping towards the blonde. "No hero would ever drive someone to suicide. No matter if they're someone you hate or even a villain."

Bakugou steps closer to Kira, his explosions starting to make an appearance on his fingertips. "Who the fuck are you anyway?" He snarls. "You're just a nobody on the support course."

"No, I'm on the hero course," she argues. "And I'm gonna kick your ass for what you did to Deku."

Bakugou scoffs quickly. "I've never seen you before. I think I'd know if a weakling like you were in the hero classes. Besides, no one's going to remember you after I'm done with you."

Bakugou lunges at Kira, his arms stretched out to grab her. She's fought Bakugou before - she knows how he fights. Or so she thought. Whoever this guy is, he doesn't fight like the Bakugou she knows. He's terribly aggressive, grabbing her by the shoulders and throwing her into the far wall. She grunts, her head spinning, as Bakugou jumps over the sofa with ease, aiming an explosion straight at her face. Is he planning on taking the building with her?

"Hey!" The Bakugou she knows appears out of the shadows, sprinting at the 'evil' Bakugou with sudden speed.

He tackles himself to the ground, yelling at Kira to escape. She frowns, her mind frazzled at the scene of two Bakugou's battling it out. This other Bakugou is strong - she's not even sure if her Bakugou can take him. So, she decides to stay, grabbing evil Bakugou by the arms as her classmate knocks him out from behind with a vicious blow to the back of the head.

"I told you to leave, you idiot."

"Well as much as I hate to admit it," she sighs, rubbing her forehead. "You're pretty strong."

Bakugou glares down at his copy, kicking him slightly. "So, this is what it's like?"

"What's that?" She frowns.

"Having that damn villain look like someone you know?"

Kira's frown deepens. "You mean Toga?" His silence confirms it. "I don't know what this is, but this isn't Toga."

"But-"

"I know," she cuts in, raising a hand. "But, Toga wouldn't have questioned who I am. She knows me... doesn't she?"

"Don't interrupt me, you damn idiot," Bakugou sulks, crossing his arms and heading towards the exit.

"I have no idea what's going on here," Kira admits, running to catch up with Bakugou as he struts down the steps. "It feels like that villain is messing with us or something."

"What are you talking about?" Bakugou mumbles.

"Don't tell me this doesn't feel fake to you? Like a really bizarre dream."

Bakugou stops in his tracks to face her. "You think we're hallucinating?"

She pauses, gathering her thoughts. "I don't know," she answers honestly.
