Chapter 30 - The Truth Is Revealed

Kira stares up in shock as an ice wall towers over her and Bakugou, her arms crossed over her face to protect her from the shards, her heat melting the ice.

The five people she thought were civilians reveal themselves to be Midoriya, Kirishima, Iida, Todoroki and Yaoyorozu. All the villains spin towards the ice spike, completely taken off guard by the sudden assault.

"Come on!" Kirishima screams, holding a hand out as he soars through the air with Midoriya and Iida.

Kira's eyes cast back down to the villains as they make a break for Bakugou. Her classmate spots her standing next to the ice, her forearms practically shimmering in the night.

"You sure chose a shitty time to be a hero," he calls out to her.

Ignoring his quip, Kira eyes the schoolgirl, as she dives up into the air ready to slash Bakugou with a small, yet sharp knife. Suddenly, all rational thought to save her classmate goes out the window as she's overcome by vengeance. Her Quirk shines up her arms as she dashes for the villain, ready to obliterate her to ash.

Suddenly, Bakugou rushes at her, his hand extended, ready to stop her from exacting her revenge.

"Stop!" She blurts, throwing her hands up to stop him.

Bakugou ignores her cries, as she tries to dodge his outstretched arm. For some reason, she's already putting everyone at risk... all for what? A petty desire to relieve her desperate needs? Even so, Kira may never get this chance again.

With the extensive heat from Akira's Quirk, Bakugou must be stupid or brave to come into contact with her, but either way he doesn't seem to be phased by the intensity of her power. Sure, Bakugou's own Quirk relies on his own sweat, so naturally he's used to ridiculous temperatures, but he must be in a lot of pain, despite how uncaring about everything be appears to be.

"Let go!" She screams stubbornly, using her free hand to fire a blistering beam of light at the schoolgirl.

"You idiot!" He hisses in her ear, his grip not loosening even a tiny bit from her arm. "What the hell are you doing?"

She fires another shot, it narrowly missing the villains cheek and exploding the rubble behind them.

"Akira!"

Her eyes widen at the sound of the faint voice high up in the air and she arches her neck around to see Kirishima soaring through the air with Midoriya and Iida.

"Come on!" He yells again, his voice echoing.

She feels her Quirk cool down, a slight amount of steam erupting from her arms, as Bakugou continues to drag her with him.

She frowns at her palm as Bakugou yells in her ear. "Pay attention! I'm not dragging your useless ass everywhere!"

Kira snaps her head to him, as he launches into the air with explosions, showering the villains with rubble. Light emits from her other palm, as Kira and Bakugou fly towards Kirishima and the others hand in hand.

"You stupid or something!?" Bakugou bellows at their saviours, as he slaps his hand into Kirishima's.

Kira grips onto Bakugou's other hand for dear life, trying her best not to look down - they're super high right now.

Not five minutes ago, Kira was just blazing with hatred towards the villains, but she didn't even need to do anything to save Bakugou. In the end, she was the one who needed saving.

"Kiriya," Iida says, speaking loudly over the harsh wind. "In a minute, give us a giant-"

"Look out!" Kira warns, looking back in time to spot two members of the League of Villains zooming through the air after them, gaining speed.
