It hadn't take long for Valkyrie, Ellie, Constance and Alfred to clean up the scene, taking out and arresting most of the mercenaries. The GCPD showed up eventually and took over the crime scene, and Constance knew she had another long night ahead of her.
Officer Walters was in charge of going around and taking statements.
"Black Mask instructed two of his men to take me and Barbara as hostages. They took us to the locker rooms. And that's when Valkyrie dropped in and saved us" Isabella lied, it had been herself and Barbara that had taken out the criminals, but she couldn't say that without raising more questions.
"Thank you Miss Bishop" Officer Walters was being on his best behaviour, since Constance was hanging around.
Isabella left the Officer alone so she could go and tend to their wounded soldier. Jason was sat on the edge of the ambulance getting his head stitched up.
He had tried to take on Black Mask alone, and he had suffered for it. Jason had nearly taken Black Mask down, but Black Mask was just a little bit better. Isabella was still proud of Jason regardless, a lot prouder than she was of Harvey, who she had spotted hiding while Josie was dosed.
Isabella waited until the EMT had left Jason alone, until she sat on the edge of the ambulance with him.
Neither of them said anything to each other. Isabella took the wet cloth and started to clean the blood away from Jason's wound, it had stated to dry against his skin.
"You helped a lot of people tonight" Isabella tells Jason. "I'm proud of you" Isabella tells Jason. Jason couldn't help but smile, Isabella was proud of him, and suddenly he didn't feel so bad.
The Isabella smacks him in the arm.
"Ow, what the fuck?" Jason shouts. "I thought you were proud that I helped?" Jason argued with Isabella.
"I am" Isabella nods to him. "I also think it was stupid for you to chase down a criminal like Black Mask. You could've gotten yourself killed" Isabella informed Jason. She had been very worried about him all night, and that didn't sit well with her.
"We're you...?" Jason begins to ask. "Were you worried about me?" and he couldn't help but wear a delighted smile, because that meant that she cared about him.
Isabella nods.
Then completely shocking both involved, Isabella reaches over and wraps her arms around Jason, and hugs him. Jason was completely paralysed for a second, but then decides to hug Isabella back.
