(Y/N) got a new haircut reflecting their true self.
But because of that...
They were stuck wearing the clothes their mother picked out as they wait in their room.
For what felt like an hour, after hearing the sudden change of plans, thanks to their decisive relatives. Arguing over which is the best place for the night out with the extended family members.
They shift their attention towards the sound of someone tapping their bedroom window. And they see...
🧡Mikey waving hello with his adorable tooth gap smile🧡
After letting him inside, he spoke looking at new haircut.
"(Y/N)! You finally got the haircut you wanted!" Mikey said.
"Yeah but, I have to wear this gaudy outfit because of the dumb dress code for some fancy restaurant..." (Y/N) said as they sat on their bed not caring about messing up the outfit.
Mikey started blushing quietly noticing the pretty attire. With (Y/N)'s cool factor as an unique detail paired with it.
"I almost looked like a clown with a full face make over."
"Like I swore last year's event took an entire towel just to get rid of it." (Y/N) sighed as Mikey pouts feeling bad for his crush.
"Your mom is still stubborn about this whole appearance being a big thing..." Mikey said as (Y/N) got up slightly tugging at the bottom hem of the top clothing.
"Why bother asking her to change her mind because, she'll just repeat the same answer..."
"Even when she's in a good mood, it still doesn't matter..." (Y/N) said as Mikey rubs his arm.
"You're still pretty cool regardless of what you wear."
"If it weren't for this whole situation,"
"I would march up to your mom and scold her since you rarely get a say,"
"On what you can or can't wear. And she should know how messed up that is..." Mikey said as (Y/N) slowly blushed hearing his kind words.
"I'm still not used to compliments that aren't from my families but,"
"Its nice to hear you say that so, thanks Mikey..." (Y/N) said as they start to hug him.
Mikey gradually returned the hug, hiding the darkened blush on his face. After the teens let go of the heartfelt gesture, (Y/N) had a smile on their face.
"Since Dr Feelings cheered me up, I promise to bring back some of the leftovers for him and his brothers." (Y/N) said as they heard a muffled agreement near the living room.
"Hopefully, you take pictures of the food before you eat it."
"Especially, if it's decorated in such a wonderful display." Mikey said as (Y/N) giggled with a nod, holding onto the doorknob to their bedroom.
"I'll text you some of the photos."
"See you tomorrow Mikey!" (Y/N) said as they winked at him exiting the door.
5 minutes later after locking the window behind him...
Mikey sat on the walking rails of the fire escape stairs, pinching his cheek for the third time. With a cheerful sigh that he consoled his crush.
He's still afraid to confess his feelings but, small steps like this push him, see to that smile even more.

As (Y/N) opened the window, Leo glanced at the outfit, beginning to perch his arm by the window sill.
"You starting a new look with that outfit."
"Or forced into another boring shindig." Leo said as (Y/N) stuck their tongue at him.
"More like stuck this outfit thanks to my mom..."
"It really ruins my new haircut."
"I was this close to pouring water on myself until my grandparents started arguing with my mom about some boring art museum..." (Y/N) said.
"Yeah, it definitely doesn't suit your inner rebel style."
"Unless you tore some holes or cut up parts of the clothing but, I rather not get my bestie into any more trouble." Leo said as (Y/N) raised an eyebrow.
"Since when did you start worrying about me?"
"You're starting to be a bit mature with this whole leader thing-"
"Hey, don't switch to the leader topic."
"Let's just focus on lightening the mood, okay (Y/N)." Leo said as (Y/N) sat on their bed with a sigh.
"Okay, so what's with the unexpected visit?"
"I already texted you that I was gonna be busy with my other relatives for today." (Y/N) said as Leo gulped.
"Maybe, the next time you and your mom get into an argument regarding your style of clothes,"
"I can try to convince your mom on why, a certain set of clothes can boost a person feeling confident about themselves."
"I managed to persuade Big Mama with a deal during that one time at the Battle Nexus."
"Before she had a change of plans leading to that eventual battle with the Shredder."
"And before you have doubts on not being in about the idea,"
"I won't do that to you."
"I promise." Leo said in a serious tone staring directly at (Y/N)'s eyes.
(Y/N) felt their cheeks blushing, seeing him determined to follow on his promise.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but, okay."
"However, I'm giving the signal."
"You got me grounded for a week when my mom overheard an explosion from one of Donnie's machines, going haywire in the background." (Y/N) said as Leo chuckled lightly ruffling his friend's hair.
"You had your phone on speaker."
"Don't blame an innocent turtle on that." Leo said as (Y/N) flicked his forehead.
"Whatever Bleo but, thanks for being considerate about me..." (Y/N) said grinning at him.
It was around nine minutes when the teens separated for the night and Leo nearly ran into a light pole. Still thinking about the headpat he gave at his crush. With his whole face flushed in pink.

Once (Y/N) unlocked the window, he put his phone away to point out the distressing issue.
"Its unusually out of your comfort level to wear something in a style you hate."
"However, I assume this was a part of your mom's deal for that particular hairstyle." Donnie said as (Y/N) annoyingly flopped onto their bed.
"I feel more embarrassed about going to the aquarium in this getup."
"I had to head back to my room the moment my mom mentioned about the atmospheric love at first sight setting in an aquarium."
"It's so corny the more I think about it..." (Y/N) said as Donnie took a seat in an unoccupied chair.
"So you would feel creeped out if someone complimented on your current outfit?" Donnie asked as (Y/N) shrugged.
"I guess but to be honest, I can't tell if the compliment is sincere or not."
"Both middle and high school are to blame for the start of confidence issues..."
"I'll scream if I see one of my classmates at the aquarium." (Y/N) said now hugging a (f/a) plushie.
Donnie brushed off the pink blush starting to appear on his face as he spoke.
"Let me know if you have this issue again."
"I'm willing to let you borrow one of my suits."
"You're more careful about it compared to the dumb dumbs." Donnie said folding his arms as (Y/N) thinks about that option.
"I'll probably take the tuxedo to avoid tripping on myself."
"I still can't believe you added mini rockets to your Dynamite Don costume." (Y/N) laughed casually nudging his arm as Donnie tried to hide a joyous smile at his crush.
"Sometimes, a surprise attack is necessary as a sort of battle strategy and knowing my brothers,"
"They usually lose interest during the first few seconds. Just as I start talking about details on a new invention."
"And thankful, there's no more mention on the drill." Donnie said as (Y/N) slowly grinned.
"Not even for a helmet that's disguised with twintails as a hidden drill weapon." (Y/N) said with a smirk as Donnie shook his head.
"(Y/N), don't tempt me with that idea."
"Unless you're willing to help out on the project and test it out with the proper safety protocols." Donnie said as (Y/N) shrugged in a carefree manner.
"You're calm, collected, and relaxed when you ramble about your favorite things."
"Also, its charming to see you in an upbeat attitude..." (Y/N) said as footsteps grow louder near the bedroom door.
"Oh! I have to go now but, I'll drop by tomorrow brainstorming for the idea I suggested."
"Good luck on the night patrol!" (Y/N) said as they left the bedroom in a hurry.
Donnie remained speechless by the five compliments he received from (Y/N). He absolutely hated that the heartfelt moment was interrupted, just when he was about to say the hang out could be a date of some sorts.
He's gonna write a note in the most elegant cursive before he even starts on the blueprint.

(Y/N) didn't look in his direction despite opening the window. As a cool breeze entered the bedroom, lightly touching their hair.
"Not excited for another visit to your extended family?" Raph asked as (Y/N) halfheartedly lowered their shoulders.
"Being forced to wear this, kind of put me in a sour mood..."
"Even though I got the new haircut I wanted,"
"I wish my mom didn't rely on the 'first impressions always matter' thing..." (Y/N) said in a mocking tone, now folding their arms, just as Raph blushed recognizing the new hairstyle.
"Your new haircut suits you."
"Its unbelievable how stubborn your mom can be."
"Even Splinter was annoyed with how your mom, only thinks about herself and not at,"
"Her own kid's self confidence," Raph said as (Y/N) half smiled at Raph's comment.
"You guys are more sincere when it comes to situations like this."
"I rather take a honest truth over a sugarcoated lie." (Y/N) said as Raph grinned.
"Knowing Mikey and Leo, those two are determined to see a smile out of you."
"Along with April, Sunita, and Casey."
"And Donnie being the make up guy, in case you want the full punk rock look or another rebellious style you're going for." Raph said as (Y/N) chuckled.
"You didn't include yourself with your youngest brothers."
"Since you started having a determined glimmer in your eyes during your pep talk..." (Y/N) said with doting eyes at him as he showed a small nervous smile.
"I-I uh, I still need to think about that..." Raph said in a quick manner as (Y/N) hummed.
"Well, I can always count on the big guy, who's more aware of my feelings than my actual parents." (Y/N) said as their phone started to ring, briefly looking at the text message.
"If the family meet up gets worse..."
"I could ask Donnie to set up the group chat."
"Just so you won't feel bored waiting to go home." Raph suggested as (Y/N) nodded.
"Sure, I would love that and thanks Raph." (Y/N) said with a bright grin.
After returning to the lair, Raph sat on the large beanbag chair with a blushing face as his brothers started pestering him about (Y/N). Along with the group chat, flustering the poor turtle even further as (Y/N) thought the crush he has on them was really cute.

I kind of feel meh about this one even with the edits (gonna be really busy in November and blame classes for that TT _ TT)
