Y/n's POV
It's been a few days since Riddle's Overblot incident as me, Grim, and Hooty went to Heartslabyul. Yesterday, I made a heart shaped strawberry tart as a little something, just in case.
"We're here!" Grim cheered as he hopped down my shoulder.
"He's just excited about free sweets." Hooty and I sighed. And we got here just in time too since we've heard the trumpet played as a student announced Riddle's arrival.
"Our great leader! The Crimson Ruler! Announcing Dorm Head Riddle!" The Heartslabyul student announced as I placed the box containing the tart inside on a table near me as we watch Riddle's arrival with a smile.
"Dorm Head Riddle! Hip Hip Hooray!!" The entire Heartslabyul cheered as Riddle, accompanied by Trey next to him, entered the garden once again.
"Hm. The roses are red, the tablecloth is white. The Perfect Unbirthday Party." Riddle hums in approval. I had to blink a few times. Is this what people call 'Force Of Habit'? "Inside the teapot is there a sleeping... Ah." Riddle shook his head lightly. "Actually, it's fine without." Riddle said softly, almost seemingly embarrassed. He's trying...
"You didn't have to change everything right away." Trey told Riddle.
"Instead of putting jam on the mouse's nose, try putting it in a scone." I suggested as I took the box with the tart inside and approved them.
"Change "it's worthless without" to "it would be nice to have", right?" Trey added.
"Yeah, you're right." Riddle nodded. He soon turned to me. "It's nice having you back here, Y/n Wonderlin."
"Please, no need for formalities. Just call me Y/n. And it was a pleasure to be back." I smiled softly.
"Hoo!" Hooty hooted happily as ever. Soon, Ace and Deuce approached where we were.
"Ugh. In the end we had to handle getting the garden cleaned up and all the prep work." Ace sighed heavily.
"Calm down. The Dorm Head being back after a full recovery is the most important." Deuce told Ace as I nodded.
"The garden is looking super photogenic so I'm super satisfied." Cater joined in as Grim hopped on my shoulder.
"Yeah! I'm ready to eat all this food!" Grim cheered, mouth almost watering by all the food and sweets around us.
"All you think about it food." Hooty shook his head at Grim.
"Ok! Let's get to..." Cater was cut off by Riddle. I... Don't like where this is going just by his tone.
"Just a moment!" We all froze by Riddle.
"What?" Cater asked.
"Those white roses..." Riddle pointed to the rose bushes with white roses that weren't painted on or half painted.
"We missed some!?" Ace and I screeched out in shock. I thought we did all the roses!!
"Uh oh... Ace, Deuce, you said you painted them all!" Cater looked at the two first-year students beside him.
"This is our fault!?" Deuce stuttered out.
"R-Riddle, this..." Even Trey was panicking. We all faced Riddle. Bust soon his serious face turn soft with a sweet smile.
"... Kidding. I'm not going to punish you for one or two roses." Riddle chuckled.
"R-Really!? Riddle's so lenient!" Cater broke into a smile as everyone relaxed again.
"This would go faster if we work together." Riddle said.
"You still want them painted!?" Ace asked Riddle, in a bit shocked.
