Lisa's pov

"Hey"

A voice catches my attention as I grab my phone from the seat next to me and turn the device off before lifting my eyes to gaze at the direction of the sound.

A woman smiles softly, waving her hand back and forth before dropping it back to her side. I narrow my eyes as to recall the familiar face but my mind seems to not be able to connect the dots.

Slowly, I step out of the car to gaze at the figure clearly. This time, there's something about her smile that warms my heart. "I'm sorry" I say, my hand rests on the roof of my car as I face her. "Do we know one another?"

"Actually yes"

The woman laughs softly before covering her mouth with her palm. "I'm ... Umm" she clears her throat sheepishly before tugging her hair behind her ear. "I'm Miyeon, Ji-Ae's new teacher at the daycare" she tells and everything starts to make sense.

"Oh" I immediately supply as the realization hits me. "Of course" I smile before guiding my hand to the back of my neck, massaging it gently. "I remember it now. I'm sorry, I'm quite terrible with faces at the moment"

"Maybe you can remember my name"

The woman suggests. "Well, maybe I should".

I state before breathing out and clenching my jaws. There is a silence I'm between us before Miyeon breaks the awkwardness with her cough.

"I'm sorry but I'm actually running late. I've to go back because my friend forgot her key to our rented apartment so she would need mine ..."

"Oh, do you want me to send you?"

I offer, glancing at the watch I wear around my wrist. I'm not a fan of public transport but I do know somehow that by now, it would be hard to catch a bus, let alone a taxi at this hour.

Miyeon hesitates for a moment. She plays with the strap of her sling bag. "I actually don't feel comfortable burdening you"

She lifts her eyes to look at me and I shake my head.

"Of course not"

I walk to the passenger side and unlock the door for her. "I'm just bored. A little drive won't kill, right?"

The teacher is quiet for a second before she nods her head, a smile ghosting her face. "Yeah, it won't"

And she actually lives on the floor above my old unit. I haven't been back to the house since I moved in with Rosie but it's somehow great to be back here again.

"So, we are actually neighbours?"

Miyeon chuckles which make me smile too. "Yeah" I clear my throat. "It's surprising, isn't it?" I tilt my head to look at her and that woman grins in a way Rosie would. Her smile reaches her eyes and she glows the way the blonde would too.

But Miyeon is just ...

"Lisa?"

She calls me and I blink my eyes before tearing my eyes away from her face. My chest heaves upward as I inhale. "Ah, yes?"

I bite my lower lip without looking at her ever again.

"Maybe you can unlock the door?"

The woman says. "I need to go out" she adds with a hint of smile at the end of her word and I nod before unlocking the Volvo.

"Thank you for the ride"

Miyeon says through the half - rolled down window.

"Well, you're welcome"

We both stare at one another in silence. She looks at me bashfully before biting her lower lip. Her thumb points inwardly at the gate. "I've got to go" she says.

"Yeah. I'll see you from here and drive once you're inside if that's okay?"

She nods her head. "That's great. I'll see you tomorrow?"

"At school?"

I supply. "Of course"

"Bye, Lisa"

"Bye Miyeon"

❤️❤️❤️

"You weren't at the airport"

Chaeyoungie says as I walk into the unit. I nod my head, throwing the key on the dining table. "Yeah, I just had something to do. But everything was fine, right?"

"It was"

My kid says, sighing. "She had an ocean of her fans sending her off with these banners and stickers and whatever not and it ..."

"Outrageous?"

"I would say that"

She grins softly before it wears off her face. "But Lilibear said maybe I should try to be happy for mommy. She's doing what makes her happy and ..."

"I'm tired"

I kiss Chaeyoung a good night before slipping into the bedroom; the one that I share with Rosie.

The bed feels strange without her when I try to sleep. My eyes wouldn't close because her face is the one playing whenever darkness greets.

And that would be the last reminder of the blonde that I want to go through right now.

Falling in love is difficult. I get that. But it's far more difficult to love someone who is loved so widely and greatly like Rosie.

Because in the end, like the wave that retracts away never to return, I am lost in lonely ocean of love, striving to find a home that is never there in the first place.
