Akira had no choice but to follow the others up to the cabin. It had the same respective charm by the front door, flapping gently in the breeze. Kyoka couldn't take her eyes off of Kira the whole time, still trying to make sense of the whole situation that just happened with her and Bakugou. She couldn't even make sense of it herself.

Kira entered the cabin last, marvelling at the space - the interior was identical to the girls cabin, a small kitchen and living room, with a wide staircase that split into two before heading to the left and right.

Bakugou was muttering his complaints still, irritated at the whole ordeal. However, Kaminari was nearly in awe about it all, pulling the white sheets off the furniture and watching the dust particles sprinkle all over the floor.

Kirishima was already peeking in the kitchen cupboards, but it was all empty. It looked like the place had been abandoned long ago. Being in this different reality, it very well could have been.

Kira didn't spend long gazing about the girls cabin as she wanted to check the rooms out immediately. Perhaps their situation is the same, empty cupboards and old, unkept furniture.

"What now?" Kaminari asks, his loud tone echoing slightly.

"I guess, we get settled in and then meet back with the others at the campfire," Kirishima suggests, shrugging as he joins them as they stand by the doorway.

"Hey, Bakugou!" Kira calls after him as marches up the stairs, her suitcase in his grip.

He must have forgotten he's holding it still, as she leaps up the stairs after him. Bakugou takes the right side of the stairs, opening each bedroom door and peeking inside, his mouth twisted in disgust at each interior.

At the end of the hall was the bathroom, small with a glass shower door to the left, a toilet and sink to the right of the room. Barely enough space for two people in at once.

"Bakugou," Kira repeats, standing at the top step and watching him pace up and down the hall, the old floorboards creaking beneath his bare feet.

She hears him mutter a curse as he approaches Kira, handing her suitcase back to her. She expected him to throw it back in her face, call her ungrateful or useless, or something, but he just holds it out to her and she hesitantly takes it from him.

"Thanks," she says, her voice quiet, more in shock than anything.

Bakugou takes the bedroom on the right of the cabin, furthest away from the bathroom, slamming the door behind him.

His eyes were asking something of her, something that he couldn't voice out loud, not yet. Kira stares at his chosen room for a few more seconds and decides to occupy the room next to his.

Maybe he didn't forget about her suitcase in his hand.

With only the two bedrooms on this side, Kaminari, Kyoka and Kirishima will have to take the three on the left. Kyoka will most definitely have her questions, especially after the way she was gawking at Kira after Bakugou snatched her suitcase off her.

For now, Kira spent the next hour or so unpacking. The room wasn't large - the whole cabin was particularly small. Not much to do inside. Her room only had a single bed in the middle of the room and one chest of drawers with a small lightshade above it. No light switch at the wall, no overhead light. So, the room was dark and creaky, made of old, ashen wood.

She had dumped her suitcase on the bed and it creaked something awful, the bed frame old and worn. Kira sighed at the bed, knowing it's going to be an uncomfortable week. She threw her clothes into the chest of drawers and shoved her suitcase under her bed. She has spilled out her random contents onto her bed, including her toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, a towel and a few other essential pieces.

Kira placed them all on her chest of drawers and approached her window. It took up the entirety of the wall and Kira tugged on the wire that kept the blinds down. With a screech, the blinds shot up to the top of the window and Akira was met with the vastness of the lake. This side of the cabin graced her with a watery view, so the other probably showed the density of the forest and maybe the other cabin that nestled on this side of the main campfire.

It was quite a view, one that made Kira hold her breath as a gentle breeze causes a series of ripples over the plain waterface. If she peeked around enough, she could see the decking with those two canoes.

Once Kira had settled in, she decided to leave her room, the door creaking and closing with a soft click. Kirishima and Kaminari were already downstairs at least, their cackling voices making it up the stairs. Kira leaned over the banister outside her door, able to see the sofa from this angle, noticing the two of them sprawled out and a bunch of open chests around them.

She heard Kaminari comment on something, so she decided to make herself known.

"Somebody else!" Kaminari yells, throwing his arms up. "I was beginning to think you guys wouldn't show."

"Just wanted to settle in right," Kira tells him.

"I was so excited to check out the rest of the cabin that I just threw my bag inside," Kaminari says, as Kirishima nods with him, having done the same thing. "And look, we found this dusty, old cupboard that had a bunch of these old chests in it."

"What's in them?" She wonders, peering over at one of the chests, lathered with a brown leather.

"This one was boring," Kaminari says, slapping a smaller, black chest. "Just had some old board games in it."

Kira decides to get down on her knees and scoot the brown box over to her so she can take a peek. It's closed shut with a fastened belt, looped with a stiff hold.

"It's stuck," Kira grunts as she tries to fiddle it out.

"Well, who knows how long this stuff has been locked away," Kaminari says with a shrug. "Especially if we're on some other world."

"Did you say this stuff was locked away?" She asks.

Kaminari shrugs again. "I mean, yeah. But, what harm could it do, really?"

"Here," Kirishima ushers in her ear and she didn't even notice him go around the sofa to help her with the box. "I've got it."

Kirishima hardens his arm and smashes down on the corner of the chest, splintering the wood easily. Books and magazines spill out from inside, sliding across the floor.

Kira's too enchanted by Kirishima's presence beside her, his lips so close that his breath tickles her cheek, the comfort of his hand gently gracing her back.

"What the hell was that!?" Kyoka calls out from the top of the stairs.

Kira steals the opportunity to hide her blushing features, to leap up and step back from her previous partner.

"Uh... it's nothing," Kira says, as she hears the thump of hurried footsteps coming down the stairs.

"What are you morons doing?" Bakugou peers down from the banister above, squinting at the chests around them.

"We're exploring!" Kaminari assures the worried pair, as Kyoka arrives at the ground floor.

"Exploring?" She repeats, her eyes scouring around at the mysterious chests. "Find anything interesting?"

"Not yet." Kaminari sags. "Just a bunch of old, useless crap."

"Now, that we're all here," Kirishima announces, standing up from the sofa with a grunt. "We should meet up with the others."

Bakugou scoffs loudly from above. "Have fun with that," he says. "I'm not gonna include myself with you idiots."

"Bakugou," Kirishima says plainly, his tone mocking that of a parent scolding a child. "Aizawa sent us all here to have fun. Your parents obviously thought you could use it, having signed the permission slip."

"Shut up, shitty hair," he snaps, ready to leap over the banister. "My parents don't know shit."

"You really gonna sulk in your room all week, Bakugou?" Kaminari wonders, tilting his head backwards to return Bakugou's cold stare. "That's just sad."

"That's it!" Bakugou roars, hurdling over the banister and crashing onto the ground floor, using his Quirk to break his fall, but splintering the fragile ground in the process. "You're dead, dunce-face!"

"Come on, Bakugou!" Kaminari retailiates, throwing a hand over at the ground by his feet. "You didn't have to break the floor!"

"Yeah?" Bakugou readies an assault. "Well, I'm about to break your face in a minute."

"Whoa." Kaminari looks insulted. "You don't have to go that far. If you had any brains, you know I'm only trying to rile you up so you'll actually go with us."

Bakugou goes scarily still. "You calling me stupid, dunce-face?"

Kaminari gulps heavily. "Yes. Yes I am."

"Kaminari..." Kira warns, wondering why he's going this far.

Bakugou leaps for Kaminari, sparks crackling around his fingertips. He could ruin this cabin in a matter of seconds if he really wanted to. Despite Bakugou's attack, Kaminari doesn't move and Bakugou hesitates, his fingers merely inches from his face.

"I'm not too worried," Kaminari says, though his voice wavers ever so slightly. "Bakugou knows that if he destroys this cabin, we've got nowhere to sleep and will most likely have to share with the others. He hardly likes us, so I know he'll despise sleeping with everyone else, especially if it's Midoriya."

Bakugou flinches at that name but calms his Quirk and backs away from Kaminari. Bakugou doesn't offer a single apology, nor sign of a chilled response, but instead shoves his shoes on and storms out of the door, it slamming against the wall and rattling in its poor hinges.

"Kaminari!" Kyoka stomps over to him, whacking him on the back of the head. "Are you crazy!? Why did you do that?"

"Ow!" He rubs the back of his head, staring up at Kyoka. "Look, I wanted Bakugou to join us, if only for one day. He doesn't do much with us back at the dorms. Just sticks to his training and goes straight to bed."

"If that's what he wants to do, then just let him do it," Kyoka replies. "Don't prod the bear, okay?"

"You don't get it." He frowns up at her, before getting to his feet off the sofa.

Kaminari follows Bakugou out the front of the cabin, leaving Kyoka and the others bewildered.

"I'd better make sure they don't kill each other, or something," Kirishima tells them, giving Kira the tiniest of smiles.

Kira stares at the two pairs of shoes left behind. One for Kira, one for Kyoka.

"Okay, what the hell just happened?" Kyoka says, her eyes still locked on the door.

"I've got no idea," Kira murmurs.

"The whole point of this holiday was to relax," she starts, shaking her head and facing Kira, her tone stern. "But a lot of crazy stuff has happened and I need a serious explanation."

"Can't this wait until later?" Kira insists. "We should be with the others at the campfire."

"No," Kyoka argues. "If you don't talk now, I doubt we'll find the chance to later."

"What exactly is the problem?" Kira asks, matching her sudden tense tone.

"How about you start with those two heroes?"

"What about them?" Kira pushes. "I already explained their Quirks and that we've been taken to another reality."

"Right." She nods, scoffing slightly with a doubtful demeanour. "Somewhere safe, huh?"

Kira frowns slowly. "What's with the attitude, Kyoka?"

"This place just doesn't feel safe. That's all."

"We've only been here a few hours." Kira narrows her eyes at her friend. "Give it a chance."

"What about you and Bakugou?" She says suddenly.

Kira hesitates, struggling to find words. The sudden accusations from her friend doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

"Is he the reason why you and Kirishima broke up?"

"What!?" Kira barks. "No! You've got this all wrong, Kyoka."

"Have I?" She says. "You said you broke up because you broke his trust. No better reason than to-"

"You'd better think carefully before you say anything more, Kyoka," Kira says darkly, stepping towards her. "You're jumping to conclusions that you have no business even being included in. What happened with Kirishima doesn't concern you. What's going on with me and Bakugou doesn't concern you. I suggest you focus your curiosity elsewhere."

Kira doesn't let Kyoka reply, as she shoves her shoes on and leaves the cabin, heading down the dirt slope towards the campfire. From this height, she can already spot the others gathered around in a nervous bunch, huddled in groups to find some sort of comfort.

"Where's Kyoka?" Mina wonders, once Kira made it down to level earth.

"She's on the way," Kira answers.

"Okay, well look what Sero and Shoji found." Mina moves to the side, revealing a bunch of relaxing chairs, padded with soft material with the ability to lay so they're horizontal. "They went exploring and found them in a shed tucked at the back in the forest. It had a whole bunch of other stuff in it like-"

"She doesn't really need to know about all of that," Momo interrupts. "But, we can put these chairs around the fire."

"There's already these logs here too," Toru suggest. "So, we can just push them up and position them around the fire."

"Well, it's only midday, people," Iida interjects. "No need to get ahead of ourselves. We can make a schedule of things we want to do for the upcoming days."

"You've gotta be kidding me." Bakugou scoffs. "You idiots do what you want."

"Kacchan," Midoriya calls to him as Bakugou picks up one of the chairs that Shoji and Sero found and carries it away from the fire.

They all watch in silence as Bakugou walks down the dock and places the chair on the wooden platform to overlook the lake.

Iida just groans irritably at Bakugou's lack of cooperation. "Any ideas?" He asks with less enthusiasm.

"We could go hiking!" Toru yells out quickly.

"What about canoeing?" Todoroki wonders. "Seen those boats down there - we could take turns taking them out."

"We could watch a movie?" Ochaco suggests.

"How would we do that?" Iida asks. "There was no television in our cabin. You guys?"

"No." Kira shakes her head, along with everyone else.

"Well, we could... hmm..."

"I could make us a projector," Momo puts her hand up shyly.

"And aim it where?" Mina leans over so she can see Momo.

"I could also create some bricks and we can build a small wall out here-"

"That's asking too much of you, Momo," Kira counters.

"I don't mind. Really."

"What about volleyball?" Sero suggests. "Didn't you say you saw a net or something in that shed back there?"

"That's right," Shoji responds, using his arms to talk.

"What about swimming!?" Mina jumps up and down on the spot.

"We can add it to the list." Iida nods.

"Psht," Mina makes a sound. "Forget the list. Let's just do whatever the hell we want."

"That's probably not a good idea," Midoriya says.

"Why not?" She places her hands on her hips. "We're here to have fun, aren't we? This sort of fun."

Mina grabs Kira's hand in hers, tugging her away from the campfire. When she realises the direction they're going, Kira plants her heels into the dirt.

"Whoa, whoa, wait!" Kira hollers. "I'm not getting in there!"

"What's the matter?" Mina teases. "Scared?"

"No, just- I'm still wearing my clothes. I even brought my swimsuit with me. Just let me go-"

"Bah, excuses!" Mina shrugs off her complaints. "After hearing about... what happened, me and the girls were planning this all for you!"

"Planning what?" Kira wonders, fighting Mina's strength.

"The plan to take your mind off it, of course!" She laughs. "Ochaco!"

Before Akira can defend herself, Ochaco taps her on the shoulder, rendering her weightless.

"No, no, Ochaco," Kira pleads. "Don't do it!"

Mina gently pushes Kira towards the lake, her toes inches away from the ground.

"I swear, Mina, I'm gonna get you for this."

"I don't doubt it for a second." She grins.

"What the hell are you idiots doing?" Bakugou sits up from his chair positioned by the decking, hearing the commotion.

He shuts up when he spots Kira floating inches above the ground, completely dumbstruck. She must look like such an idiot.

"You know," Mina adds, as she pushes Kira off the dock, so she's floating above the water. "If you really wanted to, you could have stopped us - asked someone to help, or used your Quirk."

"You know what my Quirk's like, Mina," she says quietly. "I wouldn't have risked that."

Mina shrugs at her response and Kira looks down at the black abyss beneath her. With a nod, Ochaco releases her Quirk and Kira plummets into the water, the cold liquid rushing up her nose and clinging to her clothes.

She swims her way up to the surface, splashing madly, gasping against the temperature.

"Oh my God! It's freezing!" She yells.

Mina doubles over at the sight of her keeping herself afloat in the water, the girls chuckling along with it. Kira must look like a sight and she can't help but join in on the laughter, silently thanking her friends for the distraction.

"Don't worry, Akira," Mina says, once she's calmed her laughter. "I've come prepared."

She tears off her shirt, revealing her bikini top, light pink with a frilly lining. With her shorts still on, Mina charges off the end of the dock, whooping as she cannonballs into the water, vanishing beneath the dark surface with a tremendous splash.

Mina finally surfaces, her hair sticking to her skin and shielding her eyes.

"Come on!" She waves to the other girls and they all take the plunge, drenching Kira and Mina with their jumps.

Some had taken their clothes off to reveal their swimsuits, while the others just leaped in, clothes on and all.

"You could've at least given me the chance to take my shirt off or something," Kira sulks, keeping herself up at the surface.

"Oh, hush," Mina chuckles. "You're having fun, aren't you?"

"Look." Kira nods back over at the campfire. "Seems you've really upset Iida. You know how he likes a routine."

Mina follows her gaze before rolling her eyes. "He'll have to get over it. This week is for fun times only. No worrying about our exams, or our Quirks. Or the League of Villains. And no moping over Kirishima, got it?"

"I'll try," Kira promises. "But, he's acting weird."

"Weird?" She tilts her head. "How so?"

"Ah, I can't explain it." Kira sighs. "He's just- acting a lot more like he did when we were together."

"So, he's changed his mind."

"That's what Kyoka said," Kira says quietly. "But, I don't believe it. Not for a second."

"Maybe he feels bad." Mina shrugs, the water sloshing over her cheek.

Kira looks over at the campfire, where the boys seem to be arguing amongst themselves. Kaminari brushes off the argument and takes off down the dock, tearing off his shirt and cannonballing into the lake like Mina did.

Once the water had cleared, Mina whoops at the newcomer, slowly scooting over to him.

At Kaminari's action, a few other boys decide to join in, kicking off their shoes and diving in. Only a few had decided to jump in, having been too cowardly to test the waters.

"Mina," Kira calls to her, and she turns around. "I lost my shoes."

"Huh?"

"They sank to the bottom."

"Oh," she says, looking down as if she could spot them.

"Hold on, I've got an idea," Kira says, allowing her Quirk to brighten up to her elbows.

The water bubbles slightly at the sudden increase in temperature.

"Ah, that's better." Kira smiles as she turns her spot into a jacuzzi of sorts.

"Hey, no fair," Mina pouts.

Kira rolls her eyes and takes in a deep breath, before diving under water. If it's not that deep, then she should be able to retrieve her shoes. It's the only pair she brought with her after all.

Her Quirk doesn't do much against the darkness of the water, offering very little light. Even the meek midday sun rays don't penetrate the surface of the lake. Kira forces her limbs to plunge her deeper down, barely able to see a few inches infront of her. A few weeds come into view, stretching up from the bottom, as if reaching for an escape.

A few fish scuttle away, not many, but enough to spook Kira to the point where a few bubbles of air escape her. She shakes off the unnecessary fright and reaches lower, the water getting colder, despite her Quirk's activity.

She can spot them, sad and limp on the lake bed, one upside down and other upright. By now, her lungs have started to ache and her limbs are growing tired. Kira doesn't swim much, but that doesn't mean she isn't capable of doing so. She just has to have enough oxygen stored for the return trip back to the surface. She's not an idiot - she's not going to cause an issue for the class by suffocating here and now.

Kira's bare feet tickle the lake bed, the dusty floor wrapping around her toes and swirling before her eyes. She grabs her shoes, but the laces of her upside down shoes appear to be tangled in with the weeds. How that happened, she'll never know. Kira tugs and tugs, but only one shoe remains free. She should have put them on properly as she left the cabin, but she left in a huff, having just been in an argument with Kyoka. What a stupid affect that has had on her right now.

Kira allows another bubble to escape her lungs and brightens her Quirk around her fingertips, the water stinging her eyeballs as she tries to focus on the tangled mess. She sees it - one big knot on a part of the weed. Instead of trying to untangle the knot, Kira tugs on the weed, but the plant has been born into the lake bed. No way is it coming out that easily.

Kira shakes her head in defeat, feeling her lungs now burning for an escape. She wants to open her mouth, but she knows that means certain death. So, Kira abandons her trapped shoe and kicks off from the lake bed, soaring to the surface and taking a massive intake of fresh air.

"Jeez, Kira," Mina says. "I was starting to get worried."

"You owe me a new pair of shoes," Kira says bluntly, ignoring her comment.

"It's that deep?"

Kira shakes her head. "No, it got stuck on a weed."

"Mina's not the only one that was worried," Kyoka adds as she glides over.

"Sorry, Kyoka. I didn't-"

"Not me," she interrupts.

Kira frowns, tilting her head as she follows her friends eyes to the shoreline.

Bakugou had stood up from the chair by the dock, staring right at her. He wasn't even trying to hide his concern, his brows tightly coursed and his eyes wide and searching. It looked as though he was inches away from jumping in himself.

But, he didn't.

"Look at him," Kyoka says with a scoff. "Acting as our lifeguard. What a hero."

"Yeah," Kira says uncertainly, still locked eyes with Bakugou as he slowly sits back down on the chair. "Just- wait here," she tells her friends.

Kira starts to swim over to Bakugou, pondering on what Kaminari was saying back at the cabin. He's easily provoked, but at the end of the day, he won't actually hurt any of them.

"Something wrong?" Kira asks, holding onto the edge of the docking to keep herself on the surface without using up too much of her stamina.

Bakugou looks around to see if anyone's watching them talk, or within eavesdropping distance. "Don't do that again," he says.

Kira looks back at the center of the lake, where she just was. "You mean, dive under the water?"

"You were under too long, you idiot," he snaps in a whisper. "You plan on dying here and ruining this week for everyone?"

"I thought you didn't care about this holiday?"

"I don't," he replies harshly. "I just want it over with."

"Are you just incapable of fun?" Kira questions.

"Huh?"

"Kaminari seemed to have the right idea," she adds. "Angering you to the point where you have to join in."

Bakugou mock laughs at her. "What the hell can you do? Those idiots tricked you, like it was nothing. You must be stupid."

"That was just a harmless prank. Something to take my mind off of... things," she explains. "Stop getting so worked up over everything and relax."

"Whatever." He settles back down in the chair, lying down on his back, dismissing himself from the conversation already.

An idea pops into her head, one that could get her killed by her quick-tempered classmate. Kira looks back at the group, splashing and jumping and diving in the freezing water and Kira licks her lips, hesitating over her decision.

"Screw it," she whispers to herself.

Akira creates a light shield in the water, creating bubbles underneath the surface. In one swoop, she sends a tidal wave of water over Bakugou and the chair he's lying on.

Kira stifles her chuckle and instead swims backwards a bunch, creating distance between herself and her murderous classmate.

Bakugou flinches as the water rains down on him, drenching him head to toe. He slowly sits up, wiping the water from his eyes.

Kira can't help but laugh at him, his hair and clothes soaked through.

"You're dead," he promises.

"You're gonna have to come and get me," she laughs even harder, knowing she's playing with fire.

The others haven't noticed the disruption yet. Those that didn't jump in the lake are busy chatting around the campfire, probably getting prepared for the evening.

Just when Kira thinks he's about to change his mind, Bakugou jumps into the water, in a perfect diving form and vanishes beneath the surface, leaving barely a ripple behind.

"Bakugou?" She questions, turning in circles, as she awaits her classmate to ambush her and potentially drown her for her actions.

Maybe he decided to join the others in the middle of the lake, but all she spots is Kyoka splashing Kaminari. The latter then dives under the water, only to lift Kyoka up on her shoulders and splash her back down again. She's loving every minute of it, despite her constantly aggravating him.

Kira was distracted. Bakugou seemed to mimic Kaminari's actions, surprising Kira by launching her up with her on his shoulders. He then soars to the side and Kira's plunged under the freezing water once again. Water surges up her nose in her shock and she battles her way to the surface.

"Don't do that!" Kira squawks, coughing out water.

He laughs, actually laughs, at her reaction, his hair loose and flat on his head, his features relaxed. Bakugou's all bark, no bite, really.

"I'm serious," she coughs some more. "Think I swallowed a whole gallon or something."

She splashes him lightly, the water raining down above his head. He in turn, uses his Quirk under water to send an explosion of water colliding down on her, and she covers her head with her arms, to no avail.

"Bakugou!" She yells in shock, shaking her head, causing her hair to flick all across her face.

She uses her hands to scoop her hair off her features, rubbing her eyes clear of the water. Kira sighs in relief when she rids herself of all the water, opening her eyes clearly to Bakugou still staring at her, a mixture of wonder and amusement in his eyes.

This was something new. Something special.

It was fragile.

All it takes is one nuisance to ruin the moment and it's gone forever. That's how it is with Bakugou - every second is precious.

Just like earlier, they're lost in each others eyes, just keeping themselves afloat in the water, nothing separating them but the ripples in the water. What would it take to close that gap?

This feeling she has with Bakugou was nothing like how she felt when she was with Kirishima. That was innocent and content. This felt raw and passionate, like every moment that they shared was something to be carefully collected and cared for.

Like it was supposed to be a secret.

Kira felt something against her shin and she held her breath, knowing exactly what it was but not wanting to voice it out loud. This all felt like a dream.

They had closed the distance to the point that Bakugou's leg had touched her own. The both of them gently stroking the water to keep themselves afloat had now led to the point where the ripples that were once between them are now nonexistent.

Kira couldn't breathe, as if she was under water again, as if she was diving deeper and deeper, forever and ever, in an attempt to escape this moment that confused her entirely.

Their knees were touching - the lack of distance was startling and yet she doesn't even remember inching over. Was he the one to close the gap without her even knowing? Even so, she didn't mind, in fact, she now longed for it.

This person before her, the one capable of change, a change so drastic that it rattled her to her core, made her contradict herself. Perhaps the reason why he's decided to close the distance right now is because Midoriya was right all along.

She was the one.

But, why?

Bakugou's left hand stopped moving, stopped battling the water to keep himself upright and Kira's eyes flickered to it, not wanting to move in case any slight motion broke their caged attraction.

His fingers moved on their own, moving selfishly across the surface towards her arm, her arm that wanted to stop moving to allow him to feel something. But, she couldn't do it. Something about all of this frightened her.

She couldn't be with someone again, just to crush their spirit like she did Kirishima.

The fact that she's even thinking about Bakugou in such a way panicked her. He's not like that. Surely...

His eyes told a different story, holding her gaze with an emotion so strong that she wanted the water to swallow her up and take her away.

But, still she remained within touching distance, holding distance. His fingers nearly graced her skin with his oddly tender touch, when that nuisance she was bracing for finally made an appearance.

"Hey, guys!" Kaminari bellowed from the centre of the lake. "You gotta check this out."

In one swift movement, Bakugou had used the water to propel himself away from Kira and she blinked quickly, wanting to call him back to her, to stare into his curious eyes one more time. But the ripples returned and once again, that gap was there, that distance.

Bakugou didn't utter a word, as he heaved himself out of the water, shaking off the excess water. He hesitated, looking back at her as she simply watched him. He scoffed, whether it was with irritation, regret or something else entirely, she wasn't certain.

How the hell did it get like this?
