Food for thought

I step back inside the apartment as he closes the car door behind him. I watch his car leave and then shut the front door. I'm shaking but it's only partially from the cold. Liam Payne just hugged me. Possibly with his wife watching from the car. I have absolutely no idea what to think. So instead I walk over to where Cailyn is playing and sit on the couch, nearly at eye level with her, she's kneeling by the coffee table among her stuffed-toy animals.

"Mira mija, Liam brought over one of your dollies, Theresa borrowed it yesterday. Will you put her away for me?" My voice is steady, even if my head isn't.

"That's Jojo. She's really naughty." Cailyn tells me as she takes the barbie from me and stares down at her seriously.

"Mhmmm, Liam said she tried to run away from him while he was trying to bringing her back home. You'll have to lock her up in a box or something." I wink at her.

"But..." Cailyn looks down at her doll again. "but what if she's like Jessie?"

"Jessie who?"

"Jessie from Jessie and Woody and Buzz and Bonnie..." she waves her hands and starts humming 'You've got a friend in me'

"Ah, of course. You don't want her to be afraid of being boxed up, right? Why don't you put her in one of the plastic containers then?" I rub her back and she nods and runs off into the bedroom. I stand up slowly, knowing that I need to get started on the lunch, even if I don't exactly want to. I finish chopping the carrots and onions and add them to a large pot with some lentils. Then I turn on the stove eye and head back into the living room. Cailyn is playing with her stuff-toyed animals again, it looks like they're electing a president.

I pull my hair up into a pony tail and smile as I watch her. All I want is the best for her. This job opportunity could really be a blessing, if it works out. It still seems almost too perfect to work out. As much as I don't want to be pessimistic, I can't help but make myself be. The disappointment will only hurt more if I'm positive about it.

And then there's how awkward I got when Liam came just now. A ghost from the past coming back to haunt me again, showing me that even if I have tried to changed and move on, I haven't managed move on completely. And I never will. I rub my forehead where pressure is building up. I can't afford to get sucked into the doubts that he left me with.

I push those thoughts away and return back to the issue at hand. Liam. Leeyum. Lili. Really, Liam coming into my life is both a blessing and a curse. I get to be teased with someone that I'll never be able to keep. The hug he gave me as he was leaving, it's something I've wanted for years. But now all it does is confuse me. Sure, he's a pretty chummy person, but never as much as Harry or Niall are.

I groan aloud and Cailyn gives me a scolding look for interrupting her koala's speech for presidency. I sound like a hormonal teenage girl trying to figure out if her crush was waving at her or the girl behind her. He was probably just trying to help me feel more at ease and be nice, isn't that how they handled fans back in the old days? I shake my head, maybe I should just make a list of observations later. I'm obviously not going to be able to stop dissecting his every move and forget that he's Liam Payne. So I may as well humor myself...

As I leave Caiyln to finish her election to check on the lunch, a thought strikes me. I might know nearly everything there is to now about Liam, but do I know who he is really?

Picture on the side of Liam looking cool because I can ('^-^')/ Vote & comment please!

What do you think about what Isabella is feeling? Do you think the koala is going to win?  Do you think Liam was just being his normal lovely self...or was there something more?
