Steve Rogers- Dinner (h)

You ran your hand through your hair nervously as the lift of the Avengers Tower opened up to reveal Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Clint Barton and Steve Rogers or better known as Iron Man, Black Widow, The Hulk, Hawkeye and Captain America but collectively known as the Avengers. Thor wasn't there though but he isn't always there.

You had recently joined the Avengers, you weren't special in your eyes but in SHIELD's eyes you had potential. You were telekinetic and you found out when your parents left; your parents left when you were 15 meaning you were out on the streets.

After your parents left you were angry because you couldn't figure out why they left and that's when you realised you had telekinesis. It was definitely a strange experience and that was when you got on SHIELD's radar so almost 10 years later they recruited you.

Because of being on the streets you learnt to be tough, you don't let people in all that easy as you learnt not to trust anyone the hard way.

The Avengers smiled at you and you found yourself smiling right back "Hi, are you Y/N?" Bruce asked and you nodded "Yeah. I am" you said and he nodded "I am presuming you know who we are" he commented and you nodded again "Yeah, hard not to" you said and they laughed.

That was a few weeks ago now and being with the Avengers wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. They are actually alright people even if Thor does speak a little differently.

You have learnt that Tony is sarcastic and annoying, Bruce is mostly calm and kind, Natasha is tough like you but she does joke around, Clint is a guy that prefers to keep a distance and he has a slight rivalry with Tony which is entertaining and then there's Steve.

Steve is a really nice guy and so far he has been nothing but kind and open towards you which is something totally different than what you are used to because on the streets you don't talk to anybody unless you want to get yelled at.

"Do you want a drink Y/N?" Steve asked as he was going into the kitchen "Can I just have a water please Steve?" you asked and he nodding smiling "Sure, do you want ice?" he asked and you smiled "Please" you said.

"Why does Cap only offer to get Y/N a drink?" Natasha asked and you shrugged "It's cause he has a crush Tasha" Clint said and you shook your head "No he doesn't. He is just being nice" you said and Tony chuckled "Oh Y/N. Oh naïve little Y/N" he said.

You tilted your head in confusion "What Stark?" you asked crossing your arms "You are so blind. Spangles has never crushed this hard on a girl before" you scoffed and stood up, walking into the kitchen.

You noticed that there was a letter for you on the counter. You opened the letter and started smiling like a maniac "Oh my god" you said in disbelief "Oh my god" you said your voice level rising.

You heard Steve chuckle behind you "What's so big?" he asked and you showed him the letter "I had to leave school when my parents left me so I applied to the local college here and I got in" he smiled and pulled you into a hug "I know I have SHIELD stuff but I can work around it because I can ask them to send my work to my laptop and I can video call with my professors if I need to" you said pulling away from the hug.

Steve placed your drink on the counter next to you. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and he sighed "Uh...Y/N...can I tell you something?" Steve asked and you nodded smiling at him "Of course you can" you said in a comforting type of tone as he looked very nervous.

"I like you Y/N. A lot" he breathed out after he spoke "I have since you walked out of the lift" you smiled and he pulled you into a hug for the second time that day.

After the two of you pulled away from the hug, Steve looked at you "Do you want to go out with me tonight? I would like to take you to dinner" he said and he definitely sounded nervous again.

You walked closer to him and went on your tiptoes so that you were by his shoulder.

"Knock on my door at 7 Rogers" you whispered in his ear.
