Bucky Barnes- Need

One Word Prompt- 4. Need

His shoulders shook as silent sobs escaped. He couldn't make any noise with the violent tears falling down his face.

You came home right on time, opening the door. You called for Bucky, but he didn't answer. That confused you, he didn't really go out not unless Steve was taking him out somewhere and you had just seen Steve at work. Walking through the house you went to your bedroom to find him there. He was sobbing on the floor leaning against the frame of the bed.

Without a thought you dropped all of your stuff in the bedroom doorway, sitting down next to him wrapping your arms around him.

"Buck, what's wrong?" you whispered kissing his cheek softly.

He wrapped his arms around you, tightly hugging you and crying into your shoulder.

"Another memory came back," he sobbed.

"Shh.... It's okay. What memory was it?" you asked him softly.

"When I fell from the train. Steve's face. He couldn't have done anything to save me, but he looked so scared. I felt so scared," he cried.

"It's okay. It's going to be hard to see these things, things that they forced you to forget. It'll be okay though Bucky. You have Steve who will always be there to help you, he was there for most of the pre-HYDRA things. And remember I am always here to help you. I may not be able to personally understand it all, but I will always love you and be here to help you. I'm not going anywhere unless you ever want me to go," you smiled softly kissing his hair.

He looked up at you with desperate eyes.

"I need you."

"Pardon?"

"Today I realised I need you in my life. You keep me together and you help me with everything. I love you Y/N, and I don't know if I'd be able to handle everything without you," he whispered.

You smiled at him, truly touched.

"I'm not going anywhere Bucky. I am going to be here for however long you want me here. You make me so happy, and even if society says our relationship isn't normal, normal is overrated and I couldn't be more chuffed to have the most amazing man by my side."
