Spending Christmas with the person that you had a crush on was one of your dreams that had come true. As far as you were aware, Peter had no idea that you liked him, but you were beyond excited when your father invited Peter and his aunt to come and spend the day with you. It was awkward at first when you couldn't help but get flustered talking to him, hoping desperately that his aunt May and your parents wouldn't notice that both you and Peter seemed to struggle to talk like functional teenagers.

You mum, Pepper, had been put in charge of cooking dinner with the assistance of May, although when you went into the kitchen last, they were both stood there doing little other than drinking wine and talking about the stress of having a superhero loved one. Whilst they were making the most of the peace in the kitchen, your dad, Tony, was talking avengers to Peter whilst you sat quietly trying to not let your father notice you stealing looks at his protégé.

After a while, your dad decided to interfere in the kitchen as although without your mum, he'd survive on takeaway, microwaved food or hiring a cook, he still felt as though his opinion was worth hearing around the Christmas meal. Being left alone with Peter only made your cheeks flush and a level of confidence to fill you to make your move and see whether his flustered responses to you were from social anxiety of him reciprocating your feelings.

Awkwardly you asked peter if you could show him something and he agreed. You led him to the doorway of the living room that led out to the hallway where your father had put up mistletoe as an excuse to kiss your mother frequently no matter how little you wished to see that. You paused under the mistletoe and looked up to guide his gaze up to it too.

"Oh," he croaked. "We're under the mistletoe together."

"Yeah," you smiled, your cheeks becoming brighter as you avoided his eyes.

"Would you... I mean would you want to..." Peter trailed off his words, too scared to offend you if you didn't agree with it.

You didn't bother saying anything, instead you moved a shaky hand to cup his cheek and lean in to press your lips to his. Both of your nerves and anxieties melted away from the soft and gentle kiss as you both became lost in the moment together.

It felt as though nothing existed other than the two of you, at least not until your father entered the room and screamed your name, starting the downfall of everything that could have been built up between the two of you.
