NIGHT

Maya's POV :

Bianca fell asleep on my wife and I so we managed to carry her to her bedroom before kissing her goodnight, even if she was already in dreamland.

Then Carina jumped to bed immediately and I took some time to read my book, waiting to see if everyone was settled. It was Celeste's first night here and I was stressed she would need us during the night so I tried to fight the slumber but finally I let go and fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up first. I made my way through the corridor to Celeste's room because I wanted to check on her and when I opened her door, she was laying in the middle of the bed, her little pajamas on the floor and she was shivering in only her little panties.

'Poor soul' I thought to myself and walked to her. That's when I noticed the wet spot on her sheet, and everything made sense. She must have wet the bed during the night, and she didn't went to us. I cursed myself for not checking on her sooner.

She was pale and looked very cold without anything covering her body so I decided to wake her up so I could clean her and bring her back to a neat bed.

"Celeste, baby girl, open your eyes. It's okay it's me it's Maya, wake up sweetie."

She stirred and slowly woke up. Before opening her eyes, she shifted uncomfortably, feeling the wet area under her.

"It's fine little one. Wake up for mo- Maya." I said correcting myself. I couldn't start calling myself mommy, I didn't even know if this girl still had parents. Well obviously not present one as she spent the last few years in the system, but you never know.

"Mmmmh." She grunted before fully opening her eyes and looking at me. Then she realized what had happened and became ever more paler, as if it was possible.

"So- sowwy..." She whimpered.

"Hey, hey, don't worry it's okay. Let me help you." I said and placed her on my hip. I walked us to the guest bathroom because I didn't want to wake up Carina and I laid her down on the cupboard after setting a thick towel under her. I took off her panties and cleaned her with a warm washcloth. I put new panties on her skinny body, and realized it was too tight. We really needed to go buy some new clothes for her. I decided that one of my oversize tee-shirt would be perfect and I brought her back to her bedroom but when I tried to put her down to change her sheets, she clutched to me.

"You want to stay with me ? Want to stay with Maya ?"

Celeste nodded so I took her to my wife and I's bedroom and set her between us. She snuggled close to me and fell back asleep.

"Good girl." I praised when she was already snoring like a kitten.

I didn't slept more, I kept reading my book until Carina moved. Her face suddenly appeared behind Celeste.

"Is she okay ? Did something happened ??" She asked whispering, and anxious for the toddler.

"No, no everything's fine. I went to check on her when I woke and she was laying in the middle of her bed, without covers or pajamas. She wet the bed but I cleaned her up. And she decided she wanted to stay with me." I answered.

Carina sighed in relief and stroked Celeste's face. "She really is the cutest."

"I should go wash her sheets." I stated, sitting up but my wife stopped me.

"You already did a lot this morning. Let me take care of that. She'll be happy to wake up with you at her side." She replied smiling and leaving the room.

An hour later, Celeste woke up for the second time and moved closer to me.

"Hi sleepyhead. Did you have a good sleep ?"

She simply nodded and her fingers came to my shirt. She gripped it and that was so cute, seeing her trying to get closer to me.

"Do you smell that ?" I said and the little girl frowned. "I smell something very good. Don't you smell it ?"

She imitated my facial expression and scrunched her little nose.

"I think Carina made breakfast. And Carina's french toasts are the best. I'm sure you want to try them." I teased and Celeste nodded eagerly. Then I heard a door closing on the other side of the corridor.

"And I think Bianca must have smell it too. Let's join them."
