Chapter 240: Toby's POV

"If you want, we can go out for dinner," I offered Spencer on the phone.

"No, it's fine. I'll just eat here in the hotel."

"Spence, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just wanted to eat with my parents tonight."

"Should I come over?" I asked.

"No!" she said a little too urgently, making me worried. "I mean, I'm honestly fine. Is someone at your door?"

"No? What do you mean?"

"Nothing," she said flatly. 

I knew Spencer was lying to me, but for the sake of our turbulent relationship, I decided not to pursue it.

"Well, now someone's at the door," I said after hearing the doorbell and making my way to the front door. "I'll call you later."

"See ya," she said dryly and hung up. 

Spencer was acting weird. Maybe it was that time of the month...

I opened the door and gasped, not expecting my visitor.

"To what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked.

"It's my sister," Melissa replied and I let her in. 

"What's wrong with Spencer? I mean, I was just on the phone with her. Is everything alright?" I panicked.

"Yeesh, I expected more from you."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I said as Melissa and I sat down on the couch.

"I can't believe you don't even know how to use a condom."

"Now I'm even more confused."

"Spencer wanted me to tell you because she's not feeling well."

"Tell me what?" I asked. "You're making me scared as hell."

"Spencer's late. Her period is late," Melissa said and my eyes widened.

"You're, no, you're, shut up!"

"I made her take a pregnancy test this morning after she told me...and it's positive."
