Chapter 11: Spencer’s POV
“Wait, Toby!” I shout to no avail. He ran off. Stupid Melissa. She always ruins everything.
“You know, you shouldn’t be associating with people like him! He’s a murderer!” Melissa tells me.
“How do you know that? You have no proof. You made him just run away. Ugghh!” I yell back.
“Whatever, Spencer. I’m just trying to warn you. Don’t talk to that Cavanaugh kid,” Melissa tells me as she walks up the stairs.
I guess Melissa is right. But there was something about Toby. He seemed like a regular kid with a messed up life. And it was because of people like me that his life was so effed up. I needed to talk to him. I grabbed the keys and got into Melissa’s car. I needed to find Toby Cavanaugh.
