Chapter 46: Wonder Pet

"Daddy did you see me shoot the last shot?" Evan asked excitingly as he ran over to Sebastian who was sitting on the bleachers waiting for him

"I sure did, and I'm very proud of you." He said as he kissed his forehead
"Mommy is gonna be excited too when we tell her what you did."

"I wish she was here to see me."

"I know, she hates she couldn't make it too, but she'll be right here with me for the next game." Sebastian said as he got up and took Evan by the hand
"It's celebration time superstar, where do you wanna go?"

"Can I get ice cream?" He asked as Sebastian looked at his watch

"Ice cream at 9:30 in the morning, I think you should wait a little while on the ice cream."

"Ok, can we go by the pet store?"

"The pet store?"

"I want my own pet, and when I asked you about it a few weeks ago you said it was okay, so could I go pick something out?"

"I guess so since I did promise you a pet." He said as Evan jumped with joy

They made it to the pet store as when they walked in the birds were right in front and immediately Evan ran to the birds. "Look daddy, look at its feathers."

"Yes it's very beautiful." Sebastian said as the bird started squawking.
"I hope you don't intend on getting a bird, it's noisy and it poops everywhere."

"We can always train it."

"That's a lot of work and I don't think mommy and I will have the patience." Sebastian said as Evan walks over to the aquarium side

"Ok, how about a fish?"

"A fish is nice. It's not noisy, no poop everywhere and they're pleasant to look at."

"I like the big blue one in the back." Evan said pointing to a blue fish swimming in the back of the tank

"Is that the one you want?"

"Can I look at some more before I get that one?"

"Yeah go ahead." Sebastian said as he was going from tank to tank looking at all the different fishes

He was so intrigued by the different tanks and fishes, that he kept walking over to the next side thinking there were more fish.

He noticed these tanks didn't have water and was hardly any color, but grass, and wood. He peeked into one of the tanks as he noticed something peeping out behind a log.

A snake appeared as it slithered up to the glass and Evan was fascinated by the color. "Daddy!" He called as Sebastian walked down the next aisle as Evan was pointing inside the tank

"You find a different fish?" He asked getting closer as he looked at what Evan was pointing at
"You're in the wrong section bud, this is the snake aisle."

"Look at how cool it looks."

"Yes it's very cool."

"Can I get it?" He asked as Sebastian chuckled

"You're joking right?"

"No, I really want that one."

"But you can't have no snake, it could be poisonous or something,"

"What if it's not, then can I get it?"

"Evan, I understand this is what you want, but you have to consider other people. Most are scared of snakes and if it gets out, who's going to get it and also take care of it?"
