"Were you ever allowed to date?" Amelia asked Trinity as they both sat outside on the patio couch sharing a pint of ice cream

"My grandma was okay with it, she encouraged it because she felt that I would be a loner but I just wasn't interested. However, with my mom it was a flat out no."

"Did you ask your mom about it?"

"Once and then never again after she accused me of wanting to be a prostitute. What an extreme to go to, dating someone leads to prostitution."

"Why was she so adamant about you not dating? I would think she'd want you to marry someone wealthy so you and her both could be taken care of."

"That was her initial goal, but I was the type to marry for love and not money and she completely repulsed that idea. She definitely tried, but it just didn't work." Trinity said as she got a spoonful of ice cream

"Could you tell me about it?"

"You really want to know?"

"Yes, I'm interested in knowing more about you and grandma."

Flashback- 30 years ago
(Alpine, New Jersey; 12 yr old Trinity)

"Mommy I don't think I wanna do this anymore." Trinity said to Jessica while she fixed Trinity's hair

Jessica roughly grabbed Trinity by the face, "Stop your complaining. He's a fine young man and he's rich, so you're going to like him and hopefully marry him one day."

"But I don't want to go out with him though."

"Why must you insist on making me upset? You must love it when I punish you. You will go out with this boy and you will like it!" She said snatching Trinity by the arm, pulling her towards the door while Trinity struggled and got down on her knees and held Jessica's legs

"No mommy please don't make me! He likes to touch me and I don't like it!" She cried

"What did you say?"

"He touches me sometimes." She said shakily as she wasn't sure what reaction she was going to get out of her mom

"Where does he touch you?"

"My breasts and on my legs, he went to go further but I told him to stop and he wouldn't so I left his house. Please believe me mommy, don't make me go back."

"Stand up."

"Mommy please-"

"I said stand up." She repeated as Trinity slowly stood up anxiously waiting for her mom to hit her or throw her against the wall for defying her.

She braced herself for impact once Jessica stepped closer but no hit ever came. "You ever sleep with him?"

"No ma'am, never."

"Good. You won't be seeing him again or anyone else for that matter. I refuse to have you knocked up with a bastard child by some perverted coward, I guess I'll have to cut my loses of marrying you off."

"I don't want a money driven marriage, I would like to have love." Trinity said as Jessica cackled

"Love? There's no such thing."

"But don't you love daddy?"

"Ha! No I don't. The only reason I married your daddy is because he was an easy fool to manipulate to get me pregnant and get me whatever I want and just like you, I have him wrapped around my finger. I control you and him, I love daddy's money, I don't give a shit about that man and he's too stupid to even realize it."
